  1. They added the Don Newcombe #36 patch after he passed away earlier this week...?
  2. It’s about as close as we’re going to get this year...playing the team from the last two World Series matchups.
  3. The Dodgers just have an embarrassment of riches. The juxtaposition between the two franchises couldn’t be more dramatic.
  4. Doesn’t matter if he keeps walking everyone and not missing enough bats. Madrigal with his first hit in a big league uniform, infield single to Profar. Because of course...
  5. Whenever hearing that term, the British Open always comes to mind...
  6. Jordan Stephens rocked by Joc Pederson to RCF. Really posted up on his back foot, almost fell over backwards. Lol. Now we know why they brought in Santana, Nova and Banuelos.
  7. Guyer at least gave that one a ride, but right at the LFer.
  8. Ironically, he pitched for the Padres two years ago. Jay only looked good in a Cardinals’ Jersey, fwiw. Hits the weakest RBI single almost right up the middle, drives in Yolmer for the first Gatorade shower of the year.
  9. The second...although the first would be more fun to watch.
  10. Let’s hope Moncada has a better career trajectory than Jurickson Profar or we’re doomed. Timmy flies out oppo, tough play down the RF line. DJ Peterson is on fire, 3B is locked up for the next decade...#85.
  11. Dodgers’ broadcasters really talking up the Giants as a realistic possibility for Harper...noted that Zaidi’s got to win over ownership on that one. Also asserting that the Padres are at least two years away because of their pitching at the major league level.
  12. And a walk to boot. He’s a shorter version of Brian Anderson without the pop...but more speed. But he’s our Engel.
  13. Zavala off to a really nice start...a double, driven in by an Engel groundout.
  14. Jimenez looking rusty there...got blown away on 3 pitches. Abandon the rebuild!
  15. Hershiser’s an insightful broadcaster on the Dodgers’ telecast as well. Fulmer has only required 33 pitches to record 4 outs. That’s pretty much hell on a defense.
  16. Fulmer just doesn’t have the stuff to put away hitters unless he gets way ahead in the count. Best case scenario is a poor man’s Addison Reed.
  17. Have to wait another half inning for Eloy. That curveball Hill has is almost as slow as Takatsu’s frisbee, lol.
  18. In all honesty, Fulmer looks exactly the same...apparently he was doing arm exercises with those elastic bands and got snapped in the eye as a freshman at Vandy, has been wearing the goggles ever since. Out of the first, finally. Guerrero settling in, two consecutive K’s.
  19. Zavala single, Engel walk...Moncada on fire with an RBI single.
  20. Faustino de Los Santos and Frankie Montas up next... Carson Fulmer In.
  21. Well, Guyer played that one about as poorly as Avi could ever manage...so that looks familiar at least. Madrigal lined out to LF in his first at-bat. At least he pulled it? Former Sox farmhand Paulo Orlando the last of Dave Wilder’s infamous Brazilian signings...trying to make the final spot on the Dodgers’ roster. Roach goes to the Roach Motel...pulled by Renteria without escaping the first.
  22. Had forgotten that Skole still existed... And more pristine insights, Turner/Muncy/Chris Taylor are examples of good scouting, you think? Saying that Guyer will make the team as the 4th outfielder. Guess they forgot Leury, Palka and Delmonico. Russell Martin with a two run double, Roach unsurprisingly on the ropes already.
  23. And Moncada leads off the 2019 season with a 2B against Bassitt...apparently the salary for Roach was $800k in Japan and $400k in South Korea. Not bad! And Palk Smash, doubles, driving in Moncada for the first run.
