Home Sweet Home: White Sox vs Marlins 7:10 CT (Nova vs Richards)
He’s like Cy Young against the Marlins in his career...it’s almost uncanny.

Goins is the next Brent Lillibridge!! McCann’s homer was on a 93 mph fastball, btw.- Home Sweet Home: White Sox vs Marlins 7:10 CT (Nova vs Richards)
Actually as high as #16 in 2016, BA http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/profile.asp?ID=171058- Home Sweet Home: White Sox vs Marlins 7:10 CT (Nova vs Richards)
Extend Goins!- Home Sweet Home: White Sox vs Marlins 7:10 CT (Nova vs Richards)
One of the worst Top 25 prospects in recent history...- Home Sweet Home: White Sox vs Marlins 7:10 CT (Nova vs Richards)
This year, Vladimir Guerrero is the new bust...or Eloy, early. Everyone’s sleeping on Yoan because of how many great 3B there are, the White Sox labor in total obscurity and Red Sox fans, for their part, are still happy they kept Devers, although right now they could really use an infield of Devers, Bogaerts and Moncada.- Home Sweet Home: White Sox vs Marlins 7:10 CT (Nova vs Richards)
I think I actually prefer “I Punched Keanu Reeves” rap song to that...or at least 90s grunge like Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden.- Home Sweet Home: White Sox vs Marlins 7:10 CT (Nova vs Richards)
For gentrification, lack of affordable housing and homeless problems like the Bay Area? I’ll give you you Pike Street, Starbucks, Amazon, Jimi Hendrix and Curt Gobain.- Home Sweet Home: White Sox vs Marlins 7:10 CT (Nova vs Richards)
I made the mistake of thinking it was connected to the actor Brian Dennehy, lol... https://search.yahoo.com/search?p=brian+dennehy&fr=yfp-hrtab-s&fr2=p%3Afp%2Cm%3Asa&.tsrc=yfp-hrtab-s&fp=1&toggle=1&cop=mss&ei=UTF-8- A bunch of promotions (reportedly including Madrigal to AAA)
- 7/22 Games
Jonathan India up to AA, playing with Wood against BIRM. Madrigal 0 for 2 so far.- Home Sweet Home: White Sox vs Marlins 7:10 CT (Nova vs Richards)
Which is crazy because statistically he and Lopez are 1 and 1A for the worst pitcher in baseball this season...at least we’re “leading” baseball in that dubious statistic over the last two seasons. That’s really only a 1/900 likelihood of happening.- Home Sweet Home: White Sox vs Marlins 7:10 CT (Nova vs Richards)
So we still need to fill RF, DH, catcher...wish I had a dollar for every occasion someone has said it was going to be so easy to find a DH/1B for the White Sox! Meanwhile, Hahn’s selection of Nova continues to look dubious at best.- Free Agency - How confident are you?
Who’s the last player 36 or older to have a really good season? Markakis and Zobrist are the only names that come to mind. And playing Jimenez in RF with that arm is just not a good plan, either.- Home Sweet Home: White Sox vs Marlins 7:10 CT (Nova vs Richards)
This dude is 0-6 in his last 7 starts and the Marlins have lost ALL of them dating back to the beginning of June. BAA of well over .300 during that stretch.- Free Agency - How confident are you?
http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/profile.asp?ID=152749 Ozuna has plenty of career experience playing all three positions.- Free Agency - How confident are you?
It's the third obvious rebuilding under JR...late 80's, late 90's and then 2016 through 2020. And Adam Dunn was probably the biggest free agent signing after Belle...we all know how well that went, that he made the NY Times more frequently the second half that year than the sports page. He was "pretty good" in 2012, but the damage to the fanbase was already done. By then, the last hopes of following up the 2005 World Series team with a "Sox Decade" were but ashes in the dustbin of history.- Dylan Cease
Obvious solution, connect virtual reality and augmented reality with the way we take in sports...to enrich or enhance the experience. Those over age 40 or 50 will be resistant (just give me my damned 50 cent box score/program, radio and daily newspaper printed on black and white)...but it's obvious something has to be done to connect with the younger generation. Why, for example, have the HoF induction speeches on a Sunday in July when nobody's paying attention...when you have to compete with the British Open or actual, real baseball games for attention? Why not do it the day before or in the days after the All-Star Game when you would have more of a spotlight?- Tim Anderson high ankle sprain
He was already running at full speed over the weekend. The report in the Sun-Times was that he was almost ready to go out on his rehab assignment...- Andrew Benintendi Available?
We can't afford to trade Madrigal for Benintendi to lose 3 years of control for 7...not when Madrigal's suddenly looking like a shoe-in to be at least a 3 fWAR second baseman at the floor of his abilities. In fact, along with Anderson, those two are set up to be the leaders/co-captains of this franchise for many years to come. There's a million things that Madrigal does well that don't show up in the box score and will start to rub off on the rest of the players when they finally start to turn the corner at .500 and above baseball at some point next season. He'll bring a lot of the same qualities as Pods/Iguchi at the top of the line-up in 2005 (minus the strikeouts). Benintendi's going to be at a disadvantage as long as they continue to use these baseballs...because he's always been a better pure XB hitter than a home run guy. And his defense has never graded out that well (obviously, harder to assess with Green Monster, but still 81 road games per year as well.)- Free Agency - How confident are you?
Sure, but those payrolls were back in 2006-2008 and 2010-11. http://www.stevetheump.com/Payrolls.htm#2006payroll If our current young core is mixed together with the obvious top 3 prospects....and Giolito/Kopech/Cease/Lopez/Dunning form at least 3/5th's of our future rotations in the coming future, then everything SHOULD be okay if they make the right moves to supplement with veterans like the 2013 Red Sox, or this year's Twins. Of course, it still depends on a number of X factors, like catching...that position hasn't been filled adequately since AJ Pierzynski for the White Sox, and is vitally important to forming a playoff team. But pitching...defense...there's no getting around that those are the two biggest weaknesses that need to be shored up if they want to be legitimately competitive. Of course, the main complaints are about round 1-5 drafting, injuries, not taking advantage of the opportunity to sign an additional haul of Latin Americans in Robert's class, managing/fundamentals/defensive execution, the Tatis trade, there are lots of positives but there are some negatives that can/should easily be addressed. The skepticism was natural after missing out on the two big FA targets and then watching the number of potential free agents in 2020 and 2021 come off the board one by one. The concerns about Renteria, Steverson and Cooper are not new, but they're not without warrant, either.- Free Agency - How confident are you?
The problem with Ozuna is that he's angling to be one of the most expensive FA's on the market due to his age... I also brought up Dickerson, who's in the middle of an injury-plagued year....Domingo Santana, on the block again with the Mariners and defensively-limited...and Franmil Reyes/Hunter Renfroe/Wil Myers. Then you have the yearly Dodgers' logjam at that position as well. The problem is that, other than Ozuna, all of the players mentioned for RF have defensive pretty serious defensive issues. Renfroe's playing so well, has a strong arm...he's going to be overpriced in the trade market, so Myers and his bad contract would be who they would try to offload, which would be okay if they ate half of it. Myers is as good a bounceback candidate as any, if you're not going with a Tier 1 guy in Ozuna.- Free Agency - How confident are you?
