  1. "They've really done nothing to earn a win tonight against Wright." Darrin Jackson 6 GB, and on the verge of 6 1/2
  2. If they're going to lose tonight, just let it be a quick walk-off homer instead of a 13-15 inning borefest...
  3. How did Avila miss that 83 mph batting practice fastball down the middle? Typical White Sox at-bats with RISP this year. Man, it's horrid.
  4. Lawrie got hosed by that first strike call. Didn't cut down on his swing at all like the situation called for there. Same pitch to Frazier just now was a ball.
  5. 72 strikes out of 103 pitches for a knuckleballer is unreal.
  6. Robertson up for the lead. Putnam for a tie. At least one would think.
  7. Hmmm...not sure what's going on with this game, but the baseball gods seem determined to make Sox fans suffer SOMEHOW. Trade Jones to the Red Sox immediately, his value's never going to be higher!!!
  8. QUOTE (CB2.0 @ Jun 20, 2016 -> 07:22 PM) Just as much as fat ass Avi scoring from second on a hit. Garcia can run....it's just that it takes him forever to get started. Once running, he's quite fast for his size.
  9. Great, we'll bring in Duke and Ortiz will definitely homer or double, lol. Leaving in Nate Jones. Interesting.
  10. Lindor just homered, 5-4 Indians in the bottom of the 8th, CLE still hitting. Allen will try to close it out top of the 9th. 8 homers. That kid can really play.
  11. And it's left up to Adam Eaton...five K's for Wright. That threat ended quickly. Another bunting strategy by Robin ends up backfiring. Wonder what the success rate has been for scoring runs in an inning where there's a bunt involved by the Sox? 10% 15%?
  12. Has Coats bunted in the last 2-3 years? Knuckleballs are NOT easy to bunt...and why was Garcia seemingly upset by high and tight knuckleball, lol?? Coats' first positive offensive contribution to the team, there. Tazawa warming up. Seems Red Sox always have a couple of Japanese relievers.
  13. VERY fortunate there not to be down 3-1. Guess we'll get to see more of the Ventura bullpen magic from here on out. Indians have rallied to tie TB at 4-4. Seattle leading the Tigers 6-5. Sox could be tied for 3rd at -2 after tonight w/ win, Tigers loss. But whatever.
  14. It's almost like you were holding your breath KNOWING at some point the roof would start caving in...or the dam would break. It's also really going to suck for Gonzalez if Jones comes into this game and he ends up giving up 3 runs instead of just the one. But the pitchers should be used to dealing with this the last 37 games. What's new?
  15. Well, it was fun while it lasted. Why wasn't Gonzalez backing up home? And why was Adam Eaton throwing to home instead of 3rd? Sigh.
  16. A quick game in Boston? What the heck is going on here? You know there's not much going on when there are only 2 video highlights through almost 6 innings.
  17. Here come the Red Sox. Their attack is pretty unrelenting. The weird thing is that the damage has come from their 8-9 guys, not their better hitters.
  18. Over the last month, opponents hitting .429 against Gonzalez' offspeed stuff. Wow...how is that even possible? At least the White Sox are 3rd still in defense, although errors committed per game isn't much of an indicator anymore.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 20, 2016 -> 05:39 PM) Didn't know I signed up for the pop up video version of this thread You don't like VH-1? Okay...________ (fill-in-the-blank) White Sox player sucks and should be DFA'ed!!!
  20. Anderson continues to impress. Really gave that one a ride to the deepest part of the ballpark. Guys like Anderson just don't hit it out to straightaway center in Fenway.
  21. Well, that's probably the best way for our offense to score a run these days... Coats a walk machine like Avila.
  22. Alex Avila's grandfather signed Pedro Martinez to his first professional baseball contract. Didn't know that.
  23. QUOTE (CB2.0 @ Jun 20, 2016 -> 05:33 PM) Yeah, how can that be? Opposing BAA in his last 4 starts is like .500 and 1.1 OPS. No way that is right. Shields was quite effective and had an ERA of 3.06 until four starts ago. It's quite possible the last four starts haven't jacked up the BABIP THAT much.
