JR don't like taking on any salary. Would have to buy both deals out entirely.

Citing an elbow/forearm strain without it being accurate isn't the usual route, though. Who knows...nobody will remember him a year from now, anyway.

Plus Baldwin has very good speed...not elite, but he's pretty athletic. Chone Figgins Lite. Btw kudos to the Pirates for bringing up elite pitching prospect Bubble Chandler.

Don't bring up the Vargas swing change. Schiffren trying to sell "average" players as somehow a good thing.

Montgomery leaves with "left side soreness "
Can't be making day to day decisions like that...only concern is possible 2028-2030 "window."

Sox offense since the All-Star break
Well, now they have hitting but not enough pitching, lol. Btw JR actually isn't giving Getz any money to spend. Depending on what happens with L.Robert and Alcantara in the offseason, the Sox might have the lowest payroll in baseball on OD 2026 after being over $200 million just 4-5 years ago.
-
Sox offense since the All-Star break
But the bullpen...well, Getz might address that around 2027/28. Hopefully. (The Twins somehow traded almost their entire pen at the deadline and are hanging in there...including Trevor Megill (past deal) and Jh.Duran.)

ESPN/Kiley leaves Braden off Top 100 list
Just woke up in China and didn't see this also in the minor leagues thread, but they obviously 1) did this list when he was struggling two weeks ago or 2) relied on last season's results/injury way too much and haven't paid attention at all. But that makes little sense as the other Sox prospects have experienced so much volatility in rankings this year. The home run numbers aren't quite there...but the raw tools are evident to every scout that watches prospects closely, other than blazing speed. He's almost the prototype for a RFer.

ESPN updated T100
Jacob Gonzalez doesn't merit a big league spot right now...and it's unlikely he makes the big leagues with the Sox barring a slew of injuries.
