Seamen @ Sox 5/21 1:10 CDT
Two games behind Balt after today... Let's hope the 2025 team doesn't copy those 14 consecutive losses from last year at this time.

Bullpen up to their normal tricks again. Shane Smith still hasn't given up more than 3 earned runs in a game. Palacios matching his career ops line now.

The Sox next shelter rescue?
Or the next shelter rescue is Arizona/ACL ball...first Colson for almost ten days, now Iriarte and Hagen Smith are being "saved." Wolkow next? Clevinger?

5/20 Games
If they're holding Teel back for 2026, just no way in hell they skip Braden over AAA...

Former Cub that battled Madrigal with the Cubs for PT, right?

That sounds like half the line-up...starting with Vaughn/Robert. Slider/sweeper/sleeper, whatever, low and away is the death zone.

Elko 4/27 now 148 .549

Too bad unlikely to get Vargas VS. Vargas match-up...unless the Sox pick up the offensive pace, but then he'd be out of the game by then anyway.

Two more innings to match exactly match the 15-34 record of last year's team. Ofc, they went on to famously lose 14 consecutive games, before later eclipsing that with another abysmal streak of 21.

Arozarena used to be REALLY dangerous with TB but a 772 ops in SEA isn't half bad.

So we essentially have Eisert, Booser and Leasure as the back-end right now....with Vasil over Castro now for 4/5 in the pen. Totally forgot about S.Wilson...so Eisert/Booser/Vasil/Leasure/S.Wilson B. Wilson/Shuster/Castro the back end

Quero pretty quietly all the way down to a 659 OPS. Robert/Vaughn Circus continues...at least Luis hit a ball hard, so there's that I guess.

So much for Vargas "excellent defense"....have to push it down to "above average/good/very good" with 7 errors now. That's quite a bit at 3B compared to SS/2B.

Guess the Rangers have an abundance of pitching if they can't use either Houser or Dane Dunning...a bit ironic, he would be facing the Charlotte Knights right now if not for this last minute signing.

Walker McKinven team MVP if this holds up with Houser...although the Mariners don't have much of an offense outside of Raleigh and J-Rod.

He's well beyond Camp Cora. Not sure what else they can do...it seems to have at least sorta worked for Colson.

Robert has reached Eloy, Anderson, Grandal (last two years) levels of bad here... Actually, they were probably still better in terms of BA at least. Exit Velocity 55.4 mph

If Meidroth could add 20-25, even 30 steals per season...that would be HUGE for him to make up for some of his power deficit as a hitter.

Elko is 4/24 on the season, but still has a higher OPS than Palacios Vaughn Robert and Rojas, lol. Ofc, his days are numbered anyway with Tauchman and Benintendi coming back soon. Hopefully Palacios is also sent down, or they DFA Capra, as it's not like anyone in baseball will claim him anyway.

.660 ops Is that good enough for Sosa, accounting for not being a great runner, being a below average fielder and then fundamentals/baseball IQ issues from time to time? Really think you need to be in that 675-725 OPS range to not be a 0-1.0 fWAR type of contributor with his overall profile. There's just not ONE skill on the baseball field that he really excels at, or one tool that can carry him on the defensive and base paths side of things.

Houser's throwing a lot harder than I expected, 94-97...

Was just looking at Iguchi's first three years in the big leagues at 30-32. 780 ops, 774, 747 and then fell off a cliff to .598. The problem is for you to make the All-Star team with the White Sox...you're likely to be the ONLY representative on the team, so you have to be the absolute best player, like Jose Abreu early in his Sox career. That's going to be harder to do for Meidroth without many counting numbers like HR's, RBI's and SB's. And SS is almost impossible to make the All-Star team for either league with all the intense competition. Tim Anderson obviously pulled that off as well, but he had decent power, SB's and "swagger" going in his favor, as well as being perceived to be the leader of the team. Meidroth is the type of player you have to watch every day for a full season to truly appreciate his contributions.
