  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 9, 2011 -> 05:31 PM) Very nice job by Crain, and huge catch by Quentin. Didn't realize that Crain was a former SS. He's a lot more athletic than anyone realized.
  2. Farmer already speculating that Flowers might start tmrw, but no way in hell that's happening. Unless Ozzie's really trying to lose his job or betting against the Sox. AJ would go crazy sitting out 2 games in a row against his former team. Although it could get interesting if Peavy goes out there with ZERO stuff again and gives up 5-6-7 against the Twins. AJ will flip out.
  3. Well, at least it wasn't a groundout off the end of the bat. But Rios and clutch hits this year...go together like mauve and electric green on the Shaggy Mystery Machine.
  4. http://espn.go.com/mlb/player/splits/_/id/4808/adam-dunn Dunn did have 2 RBI's, lol. 2 for 59, I guess ESPN updates now in real-time? Ozzie outsmarting Gardenhire by forcing the Nathan versus Quentin match-up, lol. Crazy like a fox. Sure glad we have Rios coming up here.
  5. LOL at Cowley "gaging interest" tweet. I think it's gauging interest, Mr. Kent State grad.
  6. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jul 9, 2011 -> 04:10 PM) Piranas. Aka Piranhas. Viciedo should be converted to catcher, lol. He has the frame and arm for it.
  7. Perkins has been dominant. Buehrle hadn't allowed an unearned run this entire season and then, of course, we figure out a way to lose to the Twins with ALL 3 runs being unearned. Comical.
  8. Probably will leave in Duensing for Pierre and then bring in Nathan for Ramirez and Konerko. Even though Juan has done pretty well against LHP recently.
  9. Wonder if he has a broken hand or wrist?? Elbow? When it rains, it pours. Needed to use AJ in the game anyway, as it turns out. Watch for the squeeze.
  10. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 9, 2011 -> 04:00 PM) What part of Morel's game can you honestly support? He plays solid D and that's about it. And his defensive miscue led directly to the Twins' 2 runs today. I'll give him credit, he saved the game yesterday, temporarily. But you just can't have a corner INFer with a 550-575 OPS. You just can't.
  11. Doubtful even Lillibridge could have scored on that had they pinch-run him. Maybe...10% shot. Why we even expect a 2 out hit with RISP is beyond me. Morel needs to go to AAA, though. He comes up looking curveballs and gets fastballs and gets down in the count nearly every at-bat these days. In some ways, he's worse than Dunn because Dunn MIGHT get into one and can also take a walk.
  12. Wilson Betemit beat out everyone in MLB in Spring Training the other year and they weren't ever going to start him. CQ as always going to be the starting RF in their "All In" year, no matter what Dayan did in ST.
  13. They weren't going to spend $19 million on the DH position. Not unless you have Pujols, Fielder, Miguel Cabrera, etc.
  14. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 9, 2011 -> 03:41 PM) Kills me that he broke his thumb. He was on his way to making the team. He never had a place to play. They weren't going to platoon him with Dunn or release Pierre in spring training. He was always stuck in AAA unless they did something with Teahen.
  15. Ozzie said he liked what Dunn said in the paper about feeling "something clicked" the other day. He's never coming out of the line-up or being moved down while Guillen is the manager.
  16. Wow....can't believe we actually hit a SAC fly and not a grounder on the infield. Another runner left on 2nd base. Ozzie, 2 for 61, that'sa not so gooda.
  17. Gardenhire seriously should walk Konerko to load the bases. But he won't. He has to believe Paulie will roll over into a DP.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 9, 2011 -> 03:32 PM) Another fantastic offensive game against a lefty for Morel. Have a feeling he'll get sent down soon, as he flat out is not ready to hit at this level. Which will make KW look even more stupid when Teahen commits 10 errors and Omar Vizquel puts up a 575 OPS. Ooops, that's what Morel is doing already.
  19. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 9, 2011 -> 03:29 PM) f*** you ump he struck him out with the previous pitch We need to save our emotional energy for cursing Dunn, Morel, Rios, Beckham, Ozzie and KW. Duensing has retired 11 batters in a row. Morel, AAA isn't very far away. Don't worry, you'll be back up in August.
  20. One of about 10-15% of his strategic decisions that's actually worked out this year.
  21. Walking Cuddyer to face Thome has potential embarassment and humiliation written all over it for Ozzie.
  22. If these 6 games don't kill us, 10 in a row at Detroit, KC and Cleveland should definitely do the trick. Thankfully, KW can't make any desperation moves with Viciedo until the last 5-10 days of July and by then it will all be academic.
  23. The murmurings of boos are starting with Rios groundouts now. Not quite so demonstrative as with Dunn, but humorous nonetheless. Wonder if Rick Hahn is watching "Horrible Bosses" and having thoughts about taking matters into his own hands with KW and Guillen. Beckham, "Bend It Like" can work for balls hit down the lines that come back into the field of play...you might think about running.
  24. June 8th, against Mariners. 2 homers in a 7-4 loss. Had one the previous game. So over a month of typical Carlos deepfreeze. Wow, we've had the lead for 3 innings so far is this series...progress from the Royals' games.
