7/4 GT - White Sox @ Guardians (6:10pm CST)
This division and WC won't be decided until the final week of the season. Margins are that thin.

Jose Ramirez is injured. DeLauter has too much competition. Any number of starting pitchers or C.Smith could have gone/could still go.

Better to just turn off and watch NYC fireworks.

Just assumed Colson was playing SS...then thought he got hurt in the run down like Mune. Sigh.

Crazy how long his career has gone on now without much of a hit tool. Just goes to show the value of two catchers like that to a pitching staff.

He really has a 65-70 arm...despite disappointing offense this season. And to think he turned out the best between Madrigal Rutschman Larnach Grenier etc.

2026 MLB Draft Thread...White Sox Control Draft/V.Lackey closing fast
5 points on the scouting grade better speed, but not a Witt Jr./de la Cruz type by any stretch of the imagination.

White Sox sign RHP Seranthony Domínguez, 2/20M
That was clearly the plan with him, Newcomb, Hicks and Kay...just as they did with Fedde.

Is soccer replacing all the US major sports (except NFL) in popularity?)
It was actually 1994. One major advantage is that anyone can play, regardless of height...in fact, some of the biggest superstars like Messi and Pele have been in the 5`9" to 5'11" range. You can't say the same about basketball, for instance. And basketball has so much scoring now that a lot of fans don't even bother to tune in until the fourth quarter. It's also much less dangerous than football, where there's only 3-4 minutes of real action per game (leading to seemingly hundreds of commercials if one includes halftime as well as pre and postgame), and it certainly requires much less expensive equipment to participate. 1. SoccerSoccer remains the most popular youth sport in America, and for good reason. It's accessible, inclusive, and works for kids of all ages and skill levels. Boys and girls play together when they're young, and leagues exist in nearly every community. Why kids love it: Constant action, minimal equipment, and you get to run around a lot. What parents should know: Soccer is relatively affordable compared to other sports, and most communities have both rec and club options. It's a great first sport for young kids because the rules are simple and everyone gets to touch the ball

Read the anti AI comment below the video. It's not sourced by any legit sports news agency. They couldn't have been any friendlier when the Dodgers were in town, likewise Ichiro's greetings in Seattle...

you don't lose nine consecutive in CLE by accident...it's a mental block at this point

Arguably, at least Hagen Smith was expected to be a viable starter...if not McDougal later in the season. But the fact all the TJS pitchers weren't going to be ready until at least the second half certainly wasn't a surprise at all. Then you have the Shane Smith slide.

https://www.yahoo.com/sports/articles/hard-really-express-americans-megan-200414980.html "Krieger believes that when Americans see the fans coming from all across the globe to watch the match and passionately singing, waving flags, and weeping over group-stage matches, it translates to high stakes. Without any advertisements, after every 2 minutes, they can experience something different while watching FIFA. Hosting the World Cup serves as a massive catalyst for the US Women's National Team. It helps speed up the growth of their team. As for the revenue collected by the men's team, the money collected also goes to the funds for the USWT. The World Cup acts as a gateway drug for sports fans. Millions of casual American viewers who tune in to watch the global spectacle are going to turn into new football fanatics, and will turn to women's football to keep the feeling alive."

Regression candidate? His peripherals overall are good, but other (deep pocketed) contending teams should be willing to offer more. Like the Dodgers if they're unwilling to pay up for Skubal.

And 1-2 walks right off the bat just surrender an early lead? No thanks.

And Taylor/Dominguez...along with some terrible base running and lack of defensive execution. Offense will just scuffle minus Colson Teel and Mune firing on all cylinders.

CLE fans were saying the same thing last week after Cade Smith blew a game... But pretty much nobody reliable in the pen at the moment is a recipe for disaster. Richards next man up lol?

You can't just sit around waiting for Murakami...but Teel will need at least one hundred at-bats to recapture his timing and they just don't have enough prospect capital to outbid other teams looling for a closer right now.

Of course it's Watson again. At least this wasn't as painful as last night. Dominguez and Hudson got all the drama out of the way early. Colson and Peters with almost the same ops not on anyone's bingo card. Nine losses in a row in CLE now and Messick tmrw.
