More than TEN from the beginning of the off season....if you average out all the initial rankings. -
Getz 2025 Grade: your vote matters.

If they both gave a C or lower, their unique access to the White Sox might have been jeopardized... Hard to argue that falling from single teens for MiLB ops to 17th was a clear victory for that side of things...especially Schultz Hagen and Taylor overall having a variety of issues connected to them. -
Not even Spider-Man would have had the Turang homer…

Ohio State doesn't really have a game that most would consider a test until Michigan...who looks even weaker considering the OU/Texas loss and now USC. -
https://www.wfmj.com/story/53156554/midseason-additions-of-misiorowski-and-vaughn-have-played-big-role-in-getting-brewers-to-nlcs At the time of the trade, there was little reason to believe Vaughn would become a major factor for Milwaukee this season. He had batted .189 with a .218 on-base percentage and .314 slugging percentage in 48 games with the White Sox, who eventually sent him to the minor leagues. The Brewers initially kept him in the minors after acquiring him. But he got called back up to the majors July 7 after Brewers first baseman Rhys Hoskins went on the injured list with a sprained left thumb. Milwaukee manager Pat Murphy greeted Vaughn by letting him know he would probably get sent right back to the minors if he continued chasing pitches outside the strike zone. Vaughn homered off Dodgers right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto in his first at-bat with the Brewers and improved his chase rate in making a remarkable transformation. He batted .308 with a .375 on-base percentage and .493 slugging percentage in 64 games with Milwaukee. “This guy’s a gamer,” Brewers president of baseball operations Matt Arnold said. “He’s been through a lot, and he’s failed, just like all of us. We’ve all failed in this sport. If you haven’t, you haven’t been doing it long enough. So we’ve all failed. For that guy to come in here and be himself and put the team on his back at times this year is really awesome.” Vaughn offered simple reasons for his dramatic improvement. “Change of scenery, being around some different coaches, different stuff and just playing free,” he said. Vaughn put the Brewers ahead Saturday by connecting on a 3-2 pitch from Colin Rea and hitting a 383-foot drive over the left-field wall with two outs in the fourth. That cleared the way for Misiorowski to earn the Game 5 win.

"The current competitive-balance tax limit penalized teams who spent over $237 million on player salaries and benefits in 2024, using various tax rates on any amounts spent beyond that and the higher thresholds. The greater the degree by which you surpassed the limit, the higher your tax due, up to a maximum of 90% taxation for the top bracket—with repeat offenders facing escalating penalties. It's a big reason why teams like the Dodgers are trying to defer as much money as they can, in order to reduce their CBT obligations... All in all, it's highly likely the Brewers are recipients of the supplemental commissioner's discretionary fund, and have been for some time. As a result, they probably have nearly $10 million more than we've been accounting for, and every incentive to roll it back into the team. It might not sound like much, but combined with the return of the FanDuel TV deal, the Brewers may have found around $12-$14 million more in their pockets this offseason. From what was a very tight payroll approaching the new year, it seems some additional funds have materialized. Can they use it to reinforce their infield mix? Add some thump to their lineup? Who knows, but the funds are now there to make a move..." https://brewerfanatic.com/news-rumors/milwaukee-brewers/the-brewers-are-getting-more-cash-for-2025-than-you-might-think-r2948/ "The Average Joes/Andrews"

"The Brewers got all their runs via the art of the solo homer, courtesy of William Contreras, Andrew Vaughn and Brice Turang. The owners of the best record of the regular season can now breathe a sigh of relief. They will not blow a 2-0 lead to a team they beat for the division. Instead, they will now face the Dodgers, whom they went 6-0 against in the regular season, for a chance at their first NL pennant in franchise history (in 1982 they were in the AL East)."

from Brewersfanatic.com "If I didn't live amongst Cub fans for roughly half of my life, I'd struggle to understand what sort of logic they apply in assuming their team is just way better than the Brewers, and at some point the Brewers "luck" would run out and the Cubs will come out ahead of Milwaukee in the standings. There's this belief on their end that the Brewers' success "isn't sustainable" - but they fail to see how much of the current state of the Brewer organization is incredibly sustainable in terms of draft and develop, increased quality minor league depth, an eye for pitching from all kinds of spots, and a MLB roster that is currently loaded with young players who may not be able to do 1 thing at an elite level, but can do many things well..."

Vaughn Brewers/White Sox jerseys should be the most popular in the city for anti-Cubs fans. Or Pat Murphy jerseys. Misiorowski should be up there too.

SEC coaches are so annoying/obnoxious... One thing's for sure, NIL is working to prevent superteams like Alabama, UGA or USC under Carroll from collecting all the talent. Lots more parity in the Big Ten and SEC for sure... Those that can't adjust like Franklin and Dabo now on the outside looking in... -
I'm okay with anyone but Jays of Final 4. Mariners/Brewers top choice...Dodgers sweeping someone so baseball gets fixed or at least addressed financially would be #2.
-
Cue all the "superteam" vs the "little team that could" storylines.
-
$500-600 million was the conjecture at the start of the season. $375-425 million feels more accurate now.
-
Dodgers need to get that charter flight fueled up...741 pm now PST and losing two hours to time change. Will get in around 3-4 am if they're lucky. Probably better to just leave Sunday morning.
-
Just shows how hard it is to sit for 2-3 weeks and then come back the final weekend against top big league relievers.
-
Would that increase his arbitration number lol?
-
That's not good. Better a solo homer...in some ways.

He knew he got that one off the bat.
