  1. IS great at least for now wiping out a lot of the Shane Smith slide
  2. He's getting a lot better with a competitive team...though. his enthusiasm offsets Stone's dourness.
  3. Colome Jenks save 1 gb Yoendrys Gomez of all people 1-2-3 save in CLE for the Twins.
  4. Weakness on the bench from RH side. It's either Hill or Pereira healthy. Certainly not Acuna. Sox ran into some good fortune finally.
  5. Statistically he's at least in the top 50% of big league cfers. Like Meidroth, neither a real solution nor the biggest problem.
  6. Drag against a lhp much harder than a push bunt which he's much more comfortable with.
  7. Replaced by who in CF? Hill Pereira Acuna Kelenic? Just not sure they want Braden to deal with CF AND hitting at the same time when he does come up.
  8. He believes his best chance is bunting rather than swinging away. Especially against a tough lefty.
  9. Cant just give away two strikes in that situation. Peters a 4th outfielder on a playoff caliber team.
  10. He's always been a complementary player though.
  11. At least the Twins are holding up their half of the bargain, so far. Cleveland would be back down to .500 again if they can hold on. Newcomb also has been very solid.
  12. Davis Martin a top 5-7 pitcher in baseball at this point, statistically. Definitely not one of the players to be concerned about after 17 consecutive solid starts. That's one half of a season, basically.
  13. hard to imagine them taking a catcher or pitcher.... I know bpa bpa bpa but Sox have that history of drafting to fill holes on the big league roster
  14. SUMMARY 2026 Career WAR 0.9 0.9 AB 116 116 H 30 30 HR 2 2 BA .259 Griffin already headed for at least a 4 bWAR season at his age.
  15. https://www.espn.com/mlb/standings/_/sort/winpercent/dir/desc/view/wild-card Sox tied with two others 1/2 game back for wc Central all teams within 3 1/2
  16. Don't let JR hear that... Still upset by Richards' cash considerations.
  17. Zavala Wolkow Fauske all a distance off. First two still feel like pretty long shots, but stranger things have happened in Sox prospect history.
  18. Not the April 23rd 2025 swing change again...do we also have a specific time that day?
  19. Hedges is out hitting his recent career numbers by a mile. It's like expecting Conforto to keep up a 1.197 ops.
  20. “That’s how we are going to separate ourselves. We are going to continue to add talent and find ways to get these guys better,” Getz said. “We’ve been very intentional on who we are bringing into this clubhouse. “We are looking for winning-type players that are focused on what I have to do to help this team win. That’s starting to really seep into this organization as a whole and help clarify who we are targeting at any level of acquisition.” No evidence at all of that with the recent string of bullpen moves. Feels like just throwing darts at the wall. Pitching can't possibly be better now without Crochet, Houser, Perez, Civale, etc. Davis Martin has really been great so far, but the back end is a total mess and Shane Smith has just disappeared. If Getz means guys like Romo Peters Hill and Kelenic (and not Braden)...well more power to him I guess. Or it's Jacob Gonzalez next because he played on such a dominant CWS team?
  21. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/48712239/mlb-2026-american-league-al-standings-history-weird-yankees-rays A tongue-in-cheek projection sent to me by a colleague a couple of days ago gets to the heart of how the American League standings look so far: Yankees: 94-68 Rest of AL: 81-81 Angels: 68-94 No, the final standings won't look like that, and the joke is probably unfair to the Tampa Bay Rays, though their plus-17 run differential portends a finish closer to the AL's rabble than to the New York Yankees (at plus-75) -- but it's hard to look at the AL records from top to bottom and not wonder what the heck is going on. Nearing the quarter mark of the season, two of the AL's three division leaders are just two games over .500 (the 20-18 Athletics and 21-19 Cleveland Guardians) while the Detroit Tigers and Seattle Mariners are tied for the final wild-card berth at 18-21. In fact, the AL-worst Los Angeles Angels are only three games out of a playoff spot, too.
  22. "He’s been here for a long time,” general manager Mike Hazen said on Friday. “He has no prior outright. So if we end up outrighting him, if we don’t trade or clear his waivers, then I feel like we’ll get a better version of him when he is down there. I feel like if we just optioned him, feeling like he’s buried sitting down there biding his time until he gets another opportunity, I wasn’t sure that we were going to get the best version. “This is the opportunity we’ll have to get the best version of him if he’s still here. Obviously, we will see what kind of trade activity exists out there for him.” AZ snake pit yes I realize story above could have same quotes but Twitter is evil as well as blocked in China lol
  23. Garbage in, garbage out. Still not difficult at all to imagine Thomas outperforming both Peters and Acuna for the remainder of the season. (But then you also have to fit in Pereira/Hays/Kelenic somewhere as well.) https://www.sportingnews.com/us/mlb/arizona-diamondbacks/news/why-diamondbacks-dfad-alek-thomas-surprising-roster-move/6ad858858bd2c30df7e41ba5
  24. "With continued performance, Montgomery could be up in Chicago within a few weeks hitting bombs alongside Munetaka Murakami and Colson Montgomery." That was what I was responding to...not the exit velocity stuff. Just thought it was a completely ridiculous timeline. Then it was still a headline article today when I was looking up Trade Central for the Patrick Bailey/Guardians' move so just assumed it was new information without even clicking on it...since I don't have a subscription...never mind.
