MLB revenues up to $12.1 billion
https://legacy.baseballprospectus.com/compensation/cots/ White Sox barely ahead of Rays and Marlins for projected payroll...will fall way under at 30 once Robert and/or Benintendi are gone. Rays moving into a High A stadium for at least one year obviously won't exactly boost their revenue generating ability.

Off-Season Pass the Time Catch-All
"Here are some moves I would like to see - The Dodgers acquire a true CF. Tommy Edman plays SS w/Miguel Rojas backing him up. Mookie Betts plays 2B w/Hye-seong Kim backing him up." source: truebluela.com Long term...it's definitely dePaula or Hope in CF. Unless they (obviously) traded for/extended Luis Robert. Robert would need to be .275 20/20 heading into July to pry one of those two away...something like that. As well as massive rebounds in his defensive metrics. Maybe Pages and SS Emil Morales/2024 intl signing class...or Morales and Ferris???

Six White Sox crack ESPN's top 100 list
Wilson with the A's (son of Jack) is the runaway early favorite...odds are sub optimal Quero would even get 100 games if he started right out of the gate in late March...and that's highly unlikely to happen due to his missed time last season due to injury in the second half and relative lack of AAA seasoning.

Off-Season Pass the Time Catch-All
Dodgers fans most worried about CF...still talking Luis Robert with Outman (much less value) and Pages both mentioned. Weakest spots are Chris Taylor, backups to SS/Rojas and Betts now at second instead of short. Which is why they still want Enrique Hernandez back...

All things LA Dodgers Thread...
Roki Sasaki No. 1 on ESPN top-100 prospect list, which includes 8 Dodgers Sasaki, Rushing, De Paula all ranked in the top 20. Emil Morales, 18-year-old shortstop signed last year by LA, also made the top-100 after a strong pro debut. https://www.truebluela.com/2025/1/29/24354397/roki-sasaki-espn-top-100-prospects-dodgers

Off-Season Pass the Time Catch-All
All those LAD additions would probably amount to more positive fWAR for the Sox than all Chis Getz moves combined except for the Crochet trade.... Would be something like James Outman. Ch.Taylor, Fedducia, Brasier and Banda. Thayron Liranzo and/or Cartaya could have been traded for other positions since catching depth is now a strength. Taylor is a really tough decision due to tenure with the club, the club probably prefers to bring back Kiki Rodriguez and Kershaw now if they can somehow manage it.

Just missed Top 100? McDaniel or Athletic/Law? Longerhans?

Off-Season Pass the Time Catch-All
White Sox could be trading for Outman...stop the presses. Or Brasier ($9-13 million two year deal), Banda ($1 million contract) or C Hunter Feduccia. Have already lost Thayron Liranzo (now DET #82 prospect), Carson Taylor and Diego Cartaya. Rushing still standing, ofc.

MLB revenues up to $12.1 billion
https://www.statista.com/statistics/193467/total-league-revenue-of-the-nba-since-2005/ MLB has passed NBA for revenue...almost the exact same revenue per team as MLB too...but NBA ratings for 2024-25 down12-28% across all networks, whereas Dodgers/Yankees way up. MLB gaining in Japan Korea Taiwan while NBA has already leaked long ago in China. $377.97 million U.S. dollars During the 2023/24 season, the average revenue per franchise in the National Basketball Association (NBA) stood at 377.97 million U.S. dollars. This was an increase of over 20 million U.S. dollars from the previous year and over double the amount from ten years prior.

Off-Season Pass the Time Catch-All
"Aaron Boone indicated that his starting outfield was likely to comprise Jasson Domínguez in left field, Cody Bellinger in center, and Aaron Judge in right. Trent Grisham is ticketed for a fourth outfield role. The eighth-year skipper suggested he hoped to keep Domínguez mostly in left field while using Bellinger a bit more flexibly." https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/01/yankees-planning-to-play-jasson-dominguez-in-left-field.html

Off-Season Pass the Time Catch-All
https://www.mlb.com/news/ryan-brasier-dodgers-contract Ryan Brasier on a two year, $9 million contract...can probably get half that money back from LAD to solidify the Sox bullpen with another flippable veteran. Beware the Sox prospect going back the other way... "Brasier/grove should be on the move... It would be great if we could unload Chris Taylor in a 2 for 1 to make room for k***..Rodriguez." Would have to eat a lot of money in exchange for an intl. lottery ticket. Banda Feduccia Outman the other three options, 90% likelihood it's a pitcher... "Ideally you send Brasier to an AL/NL Central team for a low level lottery ticket. A young arm out of the Dominican Republic with high velocity, but some control problems, that can be fixed by altering the arm angle..." Cali...Outman to the White Sox finally a realistic possibility!!! Throw in Robert to sweeten the deal lol.

Tax write-off against carried profits/capital gains...basically that's all the extra revenue that Ohtani created for 2024. Or $100/$277 million White Sox yearly revenues. 36%.

Roki Sasaki Free Agency - Dodgers vs Blue Jays for Roki's heart
Yes, the brothers applied/accesed $50 million from Peter Seidler's private equity fund to pay down debt and are also access ing funds to increase their ownership shares against Sheel and her kids. And it's turned out she was a lot more intimately involved with running the team with Peter than any of the three remaining Seidler brothers, who now suddenly seem only interested in selling off the team at the highest possible valuation and cashing out. So everything is stuck in limbo and Preller's going to have to start selling off pieces to rebuild for another run 2-3 years from now...realistically. Or they fire Preller and bring in a Getz like figure to dismantle the team as quickly as possible depending upon the court rulings about the "control person" for the team moving forward.

All things LA Dodgers Thread...
"River Ryan is ranked 52nd by Law, even after the right-hander had Tommy John surgery in August that will likely sidelined him for this season. Law has consistently been the highest on Ryan among prospect rankers, and tabbed him at 33rd last season, noting that he might make his big league debut before September." Offered along with Gavin Lux for Crochet last summer. Z.Hope 58th after being unwanted. https://www.truebluela.com/2025/1/27/24352974/dodgers-prospects-top-100-athletic-river-ryan

Off-Season Pass the Time Catch-All
"The team has reportedly been shopping several players, including reliever Ryan Brasier. That type of move could ease a potential logjam in the bullpen. With Yates, the Dodgers will now have seven veteran relievers with no minor-league options — a potential source of inflexibility for a team that has made a habit of shuttling relievers back and forth from the minors in recent years to ease the workload of its starting rotation." latimes.com/sports
