  2. Is he really the top prospect over Bonemer right now?
  3. 7-12 closing in on White Sox on the positive side Stearns would come cheaper after a blood letting
  4. 128-34 current LAD pace..beating three years of Getz Sox squad almost in a single season JR wanted to be like the Dodgers!!!
  5. Waiting for the inevitable firing...and collecting good salary like Hahn did for a decade.
  6. Ingress/egress? Dirt clods on highways? Unprecedented environmental devastation on a scale out of only a Stephen King or Cormac McCarthy novel?
  7. Also Trudeau...Air Canada on the verge of bankruptcy despite third largest oil deposits. On the other hand, playing in his underwear again would bring out more fans than Mune or Elko combined.
  8. "Wolkow ignites"...a little underwhelming on the call. Is he Michael Jackson doing a PepsI commercial?
  9. Carlos Rodriguez is good!!!
  10. Starting to think bringing cranky Harrelson back would be much more fun than McKnight/Beckham/Schriff. At least lost more dead air silences. And no more trying to sell fans s@$& sandwiches and dressing up as prime rib.
  11. Peterson and a directionless franchise? No no and no. Why not Zion and Morant?
  12. He lukkaked it...
  13. https://www.fangraphs.com/standings/playoff-odds/fg/div Still not "advanced metrics eliminated" like the Rockies. 0.4% chance
  14. Usually hold them down until they can play in league All-Star games. Zero reason to rush him or Braden. Season already adrift again.
  15. But can he play the outfield?
  16. Resignation from Talent AgencyAmid the fallout from the release of the Epstein files, Wasserman resigned from his namesake talent agency, which is now being rebranded as “The Team” and is in the process of being sold. This decision followed the departure of several high-profile clients, including Chappell Roan, Abby Wambach, and Orville Peck, who severed ties due to ethical concerns. Wasserman has apologized for his past correspondence with Maxwell and emphasized that he never had a personal or business relationship with Epstein. Whoever breaks from him first goes to the Sox....joking, but pretty sure some of his mlb clients have already jumped ship.
  17. Waiting for 2028 when all tv/RSN-specific revenues are shared fairly close to equally ??? Hence, why the Brewers and Pirates and Tigers are now signing these youngsters to mind-boggling extensions. Want to grandfather them in.
  18. Padres likely sign him now with Pivetta injury. Or the Cubs. https://www.mlb.com/news/lucas-giolito-midseason-free-agency-rumors
  19. https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/sports/mlb/san-diego-padres/ The uniqueness ultimately prompted a record valuation, even though the new owners will take on what sources have described as hundreds of millions of dollars of debt. The opportunity to land a baseball franchise in Southern California, particularly in a city with no other major professional sports team, made the Padres especially appealing, as did their loyal fan base. The Padres have operated without a local media contract since the early part of the 2023 season, a major reason their revenues began to fall. But MLB's hopes to centralize local media by 2028 could ease those concerns. espn.com
  20. This sale is breaking a record but may not reset the market for MLB franchises. The Padres have a unique set of circumstances that likely elevated the price. San Diego is the eighth biggest city in the United States, and has an affluent population with money to burn. A dedicated fanbase has packed Petco Park for years, driving up in-park revenue. That said, the city’s media market ranks only 30th due to geographic constraints. The Pacific Ocean to the west, an international border to the south, Orange County to the north and a largely empty desert to the east restrict the reach of the television market. While that has long been an issue for franchises in the city, it may not impact the Padres much in the future. MLB's new collective bargaining agreement is expected to pool all television revenue and distribute it evenly among the league's teams. That would be a gigantic boost to the franchise's finances. There is a long way to go, but a change like that would end the only aspect depressing the team’s value.
  21. SIPadres Sell to José E. Feliciano for MLB-Record $3.9 BillionThe Padres sale shatters an MLB record.
