  1. Do you know where I can get the St article? Jimenex doen't seem like the confrontational type..he's seems way to laid back for that..I read it a while ago, maybe I missed it that article is posted on this site...atleast the part related to jimenez...i think back in january..check the archives
  2. well of course we agree on williams..you'd have to be deaf and blind not to see what damage this guy has done...but if we kept 2 catchers out of ST mills should have been the 25th guy..of course he probably would have been sent down when we felt we had to have an extra pitcher when sanders was called up.. i guess now that josh paul cleared waivers it doesnt matter that much
  3. actually if you read the ST article with quotes from nevin and klesko..everybody DID hate him..not only did they say he was lazy, they said he was so brass and confrontational with everyone on the team that he had zero friends , was never invited to hang with anyone and it got so bad that no one was talking to him... and from what steff and HSC have been saying it sounds like its starting all over again
  4. alomar's done nothing wrong..except for the fact that he should have retired two years after his 11th knee operation or whatever it was..by signing him we felt we had to keep 3 catchers..that last guy to be sent down was aaron miles...whats this team lack??heart..what was miles biggest attribute?? heart
  5. all you have to do is look at 3 plays last night 1...in the first inning dustin mohr doubles...cristian guzman then makes sure he hits a ground ball to first to move mohr over to 3rd...it was a cutter in from buehle , and guzman had to pull his hands in and take a half swing to do it...but he did..when is the last time a sox player went that far out of his way to make sure he pushes an inside pitch to the right side??..in a post game manuel would say something like well you cant expect a player to go opposite field on a pitch that far inside as one of our players would have grounded out 5-3 and left the runner stranded at 2nd... 2. in the 7th the sox , down 3-1 , had runners on 1st and 2nd , no outs...rios gets a perfect pitch to bunt and lets it go by for strike one...on the 2nd attempt he never got the bat even close to being out in front of him and bunted a ball foul towards the on deck circle...it was pretty obvious rios wanted to hit and be the hero and had no intention of getting that bunt down..he was willing to go in the hole 0-2 so he could get to swing away..the result..a game killin double play...what did manuel do....did he force him to bunt with 2 strikes???..no..did he immediately pull rios from the game for an obvious disrespect of his authority by making a piss poor effort to get a bunt down???...no..manuel will probably trot rios back out there again with no consequences to his actions...you wonder why we dont play as a team???....iots pretty simple..you dont get a bunt down..you sit 3. manuel himself leaving sanders in to face kielty....thursday night the orioles were down by 2 runs to the sox 4-2...in the 7th lefty bj ryan pitches to jimenez and valentin..got the both out ...their manager , still managing like he thinks his team can win pulls ryan for the righty willis roberts to face thomas...never did the thought cross his mind , down two runs to let a lefty face thomas..now manuel in the same exact spot...down 2 late in the game lets rookie lefty david sanders face bobby kielty , hitting 385 against left handed pitching, the result , a 2 run homer and the game is out of reach....what other manager in baseball would have let sanders face kielty???...manuel , down 2 runs , managed like the sox were down 10 runs..he was acting like sanders was just mopping up...no wonder this team doesnt come from behind..EVER
  6. ive got a tear in my beer and its cryin for you dear..... cuz I'm missing the Kipper... talk about a deer... I always saw the batters hit so clear... cmon guys..dont feel so blue..kipper left for greener pastures...but his replacement is even better...he is starting for us tomorrow night..judy girland ..he's like an elk caught in headlights
  7. check teams that win superbowls...they have stud players leading them...when you get a chance to draft a stud you do it...you can get good players anywhere in the draft.. you can find rookie starters in the 2nd and 3rd rounds...look at mike brown(iirc , a 2nd rounder)...but studs or impact players are few and far between
  8. i am going sunday.....the kids have their opening day tomorrow so i cant go.. and i would have been there in person to witness this fiasco tonite but one of our guy at work had a medical problem tonite and i had to stick around later than usual till back up came in .........ill be there for the rest of the homestand though.. and ill be calling for bail money if i have to witness this kind of bulls*** sunday and the rest of the week......cause ill the next one jumping the fence to kick the s*** out of the whole team......how much do ya think they will fine me for running into the dugout???????? i better make sure i have your number remembered huh cw.. ill have to have danno call ya and take up a collection to spring me......... they keep jacking the ticket prices up...you get to a point where people just cant afford to go...everyone was wondering why they had 39k the other night in kc..check their prices...cheapest seats 5 bucks...box seats start at 12 bucks..the most expensive seats 22 bucks..not sure what they charge for parking but ill bet you it beats the 15 bucks the sox charge..combine those prices with a half price and dollar hot dogs and guess what...39k show up... if i sit in the upper deck at 15 bucks at comiskey it cost me 90 bucks (5 tickets plus 15 bucks for parking) just to walk into comiskey with my family. for a game this weekend..and now id be stuck in the upper deck and couldnt go down to the concourse ...we have made the trip once this year..cant really say how many more we can afford to make it out to...but because im not going this weekend doesnt make me less of a fan than any season ticket holder...
  9. I do not agree this short season thus far is a blueprint of 2001 or 2002 which were very disappointing for very different reasons - I cannot agree that the Twins are that much inferior to us on paper. I have seen a lot worse teams than this. Which is not to say that I am very unhappy with the game tonight, and with this week as a whole. Last week I was happier. PK is batting terribly. Daubach is what, a joke? Rowand is hitting worse than he ever has. White, Kock, and Gordon have been huge disappointments. The season is a long way from gone. What was Anaheim's record one year ago? I am not making October reservations at the moment. but this is not the f***ing end of the world. In 2001 and 2002 JM pulled a team together that was in a slump. He can do it again. But the fault lies with the team. The manager only really wins a handful of games a year. It was not JM who didn't get a hit until the 6th, or make errors, or fail to bunt ala Rios, or hit into a double play, and all the college rah rah Knute Rockne "fire up big team" speeches in the world won't make a difference. My real problem is all the constant JM bashing over and over since 2000 has left me unable to hear the same people bashing him again and again and again. As far as I remember, we won 2 divison championships (essentially) in 93 and 94 and we got off slowly in 1995 so we fired a manager of the year winner to replace him with Bevington and where did that get us? If firing a manager was a panacea, I'd fire one 162 times a year. Maybe we need a new manager. I am baffled as to why David Sanders came into the game, unless JM wanted to see what he could do, that is what sanders is in the majors for, and everyone here was praising him when he was called up. So do I listen to the people who constantly bash a manger who took us to a division title? Do I keep complaining about not following up 2000 when I see Pinella win 116 in 2001 and fail again in the palyoffs which he missed last year with a loaded team? Do I trust KW to make an intelligent decison? Do I trust my felow posters who sing St JosE6's praise? Don't we always win with St JosE6? Isn't JM playing him exactly like he was begged to? So if you all are right that St JosE6 is the 600% winning man, why are we flailing this week? Do i trust my fellow posters who praised Sanders who made a horrid pitch after the stupid error? I don't what to think at this moment, I really don't, but my keel is very even despite my disappointment at today's game. But if we only had 14,000 show up, what does that say to the players? Where the f*** was everyone? They sure as hell weren't cheering for the Sox on a Friday night playing our arch rival. maybe youre right...but tonight i think alot of us need to vent..hopefully i see things in a little better light tomorrow
  10. why dont you pray to your chocolate lab about turning the white sox fortunes around
  11. john judy garland is sittng at home right now in a corner in the fetal position mumbling "there's no place like home , there's no place like home , there's no place like home .....
  12. what do we need more of right now...kipper took a shut out late into tonights game and he also jacked a 457 foot bomb to dead center field..if we could get kipper bak do we need his arm or his bat more??
  13. excuse me, I thought i was at BlackHawk zone for a minute reading about the Black Hawks - we are playing defense like s*** in one inning and no offense all game and not a good week, but how will you all handle it if: the Sox come back and win this game? we win tomorrow and Sunday? we slip below 500? aren't the opinions a little harsh this early in the season for an over 500 team? cw..if we were coming off the '00 season and we started like this and heather went off like that , then id say yes, she going overboard....but i think what happened was a relase of 2 years and 4 weeks of frustration..we are watching another carbon copy of '01 and '02 season.. its the same old s***..tonight it was even magnified more..in the first inning mohr doubles..guzman pulls his hands in on a jam job by buehrle to hit a little nubber to konerko to advance the runner..do we do that??no.. we got runners on 1st and 2nd with no one out and rios makes two of the weakest efforts to get a bunt down before grounding into a DP...the in the next inning when maggs makes a bad throw to 3rd and the pitcher is backing up home because of the runner on 2nd rios again , the lf , is responsible for backing up 3rd...he is no where to be found.. even our manager..last night in balt they are down 2 runs..they bring a lefty to face the top of the order...he gets two outs then the manager pulls him because no way he wants a lefty facing thomas...what does that tell his team??...he still thinks they can win..what did manuel do tonight??..he left sanders in to face kielty down 2 runs , kielty is hitting lefties at a 385 pace...he kills sanders and the game is all but lost...HOW CAN YOU LET SANDERS FACE KEILTY IN THAT SPOT???..THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THAT..NONE..NO ONE COULD DEFEND THAT "NON" MOVE... this game is a blueprint of the past two seasons and shows exactly why the twins , eventhough they have much less talent on paper , keep kicking our ass and finishing above us in the standings... its two plus years now of underachieving ,boring , me first , baseball...if it doesnt change quick ill be getting an early start on my football coaching because i cant take much more of this..three years in a row of huge disappointments and underachieving just dont cut it... this is a weak division and it should be easy for the sox and it still could be...but i cant see this team ever reaching its potential with this style of play...its what i was harping on when we were winnig and took a lot of s*** for it..wasnt hard to see what was coming if they kept playing that way
  14. pk has our last inside the park homer in the tropicanna dome..it bounced off a post in play in left field rolled all the way into rf as the lf and cf ran into each other
  15. With last years draft as the example, Quenten Jammer would be the impact players at pick 4 vrs Donte Stallworth at pick 12. It can work, the steelers got Kendall Simmons where 30, he's been awesome. most of the experts , and i agree for what that is worth..dont think this years draft in particular is very deep except ata few positions...QB and WR are two..maybe the bears will take a WR with that 13th pick but they have been hinting defense and really there are no defensive standouts this year outside of the top 3 or 4 guys...really only 3..DT , a corner and a DE thats falling fast... i think it was a perfect to take a guy like leftwich at 4...noptonly for the draft but for the situation the bears find themselves in...but we'll see..hopefully they prove me wrong
  16. why do i have to get a clue??...because i dont look at hockey the way you do???...i guess i get my fill of hockey at the olympics

    SOX

Well hey, what are we arguing? I mean, steff knows everything! What the heck? Chill out a little, will ya? Christ. No need to flip out like that... Nope.. Steff knows FAR from everything. As a matter of fact.. I bet I barely know anything about what goes on behind those doors. Which is exactly why I feel confident in saying you are incorrect in your OPINIONS of what is going on. Why exactly am I incorrect? Do you seriously believe that JM makes any attempt to motivate this team? I sure dont! And even if were a bit unsure of his motivational skills, we can still see hes an idiot due to some of his pitching moves. And not to mention all of his darn tinkering! Ya know what Roman.. I'm done. As someone who's spent a lot of time around this team, you're right. I don't know s*** about anything and of course the people I know are lying to me. JM sucks and he should be fired. There. Done. Over. Bubye. hey steff...remember roman is a youngin

    Wow

Last year PK went public against Thomas and we had a whole clubhouse nightmare. I dont want that to happen this year... COMPLETELY different scenario. Paul mentioned Frank by name. Jose mentioned NO names. The ones who are dogging it/getting down on themselves know who they are, and I hope they heed Jose's words and try to not waste this season. good point cluj
  19. whether borchard is really ready or not doesnt matter....its freakin impossible for him to hit worse than rowand is right now...borchard could have hit better than rowand is now if he came straight to the sox out of college
  20. i have been one of the JM biggest backers, but i have one question. has anyone seen JM getting any calls during the game like he was last yr? b/c i am now leaning toward firing him. i hate to come to this point but something is needed to shake this team up before its too late. my other opinion is to readdress the bullpen and esp white and koch. i was jerry's biggest supporter until how he mishandled the foulke situation..it still bothers me to talk bad about his performance and i want to defend him when i see others who have been ripping him from day one do it in an unfair way...but i think we are almost to the point where the only thing that will make this team play to potential is the firing of manuel.. if the players really like and admire manuel then this west coast road trip should be their chance to save his job...because if we come back with our tails between our legs he has to go...that should be made clear to the players too...and it should also be made clear that player changes will be made along with jerry going should this happen they should all know they are playing for their jobs on this next road trip..then we will see who wants to play and who doesnt other options bench clearing brawl??..somethimes it works but i think it has a less of a chance suceeding with a veteran team...the only thing we do know it will accomplish for sure is getting a bunch of players suspended.. closed door meetings??...how many of those have we had in the past 2 years???...who many division titles have they led too...closed door meetings are the kiss of death.. call up players??...i think borchard in CF would be nice...almonte??..who we gonna send down??..its the righties that cant pitch in the pen right now...the lefties are kicking ass...almonte is a lefty and that would give us 4 of them..harris.maybe, but how much difference would he make??? extended benching of slumpers??... dont think the problem is that they are slumping..its what they are doing within the slump....you can go 0-15 and be real effective if you draw walks and work the counts...bunt when needed..hit behind runners..take advantage of sac fly situations...i would say extended benchings of guys worrying more about their BA then team play..that could mean benching a 300 hitter... rearrange bullpen order...i like this idea..atleast in the short term
  21. Well you cant really fault Coop for the fact that three guys arent performing (four if ya wanna include Garland). Every team is gonna have someone struggling, and we have three. Its their fault, they need to get into shape. Coop should work with em and try to figure out whats wrong but its not his fault. They are the ones who arent getting batters out, not Cooper... i think thats HCS's and steff's point with JM , oldroman...you say its not coops fault because the pitchers are the ones not getting the batters out....well the same can said for manuel..its not manuel's fault if these pitchers cant get anyone out...the guys that are failing bigtime right now are two veterans who have , when healthy , been successful almost every place they have pitched...but now it's manuel's fault and not coop's that they stink??? im not sure i agree with them 100%..i think this team has taken on jerry's laid back attitude too much... i dont think jerry works these guys enough..i dont think the accountability is there..thats why im on the fire manuel bandwagon.. but steff and HSC are right when they say that bashing manuel for every little thing that doesnt work out and letting others who get paid to shoulder some of the responsibility off the hook isnt fair...
  22. i dont have a problem with the sox enforcing sitting in the seat you paid for but locking people in the upper deck???...reinsdorf and taxpayers have spent millions on all these fan friendly exhibits through out the park..the concourse and all it has to offer..al lthe family stuff and the FUNdementals stuff...now if i understand this right if you have upper deck seats you cant go use any of these things??...thats not very smart imo...and i dont see what it has to do with security if the ushers are checking tickets anyways
  23. baggio202

    Wow

he is talking about carlos lee for sure...after what steff and HSC have been telling us about a certian 2nd baseman and what val said about him in ST id be willing to wager he is close to the top of the list too.. konerko would probably be high on the list too...he just cant seem to get that ground balls to 3rd with runners on base arnt a good thing..thomas maybe on that list but from what ive seen eventhough frank isnt hitting he is getting on base at a great clip and when the situations call for it he is tryiong to go to RF..but it wouldnt surprise if frank wasnt his usual jovial self in the clubhouse either because of his poor numbers.. fire manuel and make jose player manager
  24. 30 tigers and 58 cubs found dead with rotting carcasses all over the place and the guy says we didnt feel we did anything wrong???...is this guy doing his impression of the iraqi information minister???
