the obsolete man has really turned out to be an interesting study...the government , which has declared there is no God , was suppose to represent close mindlessness while burgess merideth , who believes in God and in reading books (also outlawed by the government) was suppose to represent free thinking , individuality... look at today..the ultra left , like the ACLU , is doing everything in its power to remove God and any sign of religion from our society (they have gone as far as to remove the little cross on the city emblem of LA)... wonder what sterling would think today...since im sure he wrote that back in '60 with the government representing the conservatives and merideth representing the liberals...its kinda gone in the opposite direction of what i believe he thought

yeah...im sure glad his wife went to school (or whatever it was) here in chicago

lay off ozzie???...um no.. did manuel ever get a free pass here???... ozzie's players failed him tonight in part because he put them in a position to fail...he could have gotten away with harris and uribe 1 and 2 they way they are playing if we were playing by AL rules and both maggs and frank were in the line up....but we were missing our two most dangerous hitters so he had no more margin for error...of the 4 lefty hitters to chose from he picked the two with the worst averages against lefty pitchers to play and left the two best on the bench... it was a bad line up tonight...why should he not be called on it???...
-
that is a pretty good synopsis of ozzie so far....he makes some of the dumbest managerial decisions..both in game and with the line up..but he also is a great motivator and the team can make up for alot of his screw ups...but no amout of rah - rah was going to make tonight's line up score a lot of runs hopefully ozzie just needs a little more experience...check his stats more... take a lesson from tony larussa...the anti - ozzie...the best decision manager ive ever seen..and maybe the worst relationship manager ive ever seen...if we could combine their strengths we have the best manager ever..if we combined their weaknesses we'd get terry bevington

our bats are dead right now....gload is one of the few guys that was/is hitting...i know he's not roberto clemente in the outfield.... but when you really need a game like we needed this one tonight and in your last 3 games you scored 2 , 2 and 2 runs , i think you take the chance , especially with buehrle being a ground ball pitcher , that you can get by for one game with gload's glove... he's a lefty that can hit lefty pitching..you have find a spot for him..jmo

87 years of futility will get ya to overreact when we get swept..its not that this team cant rebound and go on to win the division..i pretty much expect them too...but if this sweep sends us in a tailspin and we drop 15 of 20 that wouldnt surprise me either.. i dont know how to really explain it but no matter how good we are playing in the back of my mind the doubts are always there lurking...so , is this where it all starts to blow up in our faces.. just part of being a sox fan i guess...we dont have the positive experiences to fall back on...the biggest memory i have of the sox is jerry dybinski.. :headshake
-
with his line up???...4 lefties on the roster batting averages against lefty pitchers harris 135 timo 176 valentin 203 gload 500 harris and uribe start..and bat 1 and 2????...we were dead in the water before the first pitch
-
shingo has closed out games in japan for years...it the closest league to mlb..im sure he faced ichiro and the matsus over there..and other who have their abilities and he got them out consistently for what 15 years??...if teams are figuring out his patterns he is smart enough to change
-
crede just doesnt seem to adjust well...you can keep fooling or beating him with the same pattern...every pitcher seems to go fastball early and then off speed outside the zone and crede always chases it...im like..cmon joe , if i see it why cant you??
-
and uribe is in a 6 for 49 slump....so when buehrle harris and uribe came up 1 -2 -3 in the 6th i think it was , it was a pretty safe bet you were looking at a 3 up 3 down
-
whats this ol'e bull harris???...please dont give anymore interviews about how you deserve more PT..you stink
-
and he wonders why his PT has been cut???
-
boy does this suck lefty or not , valentin has to ph next inning...the king of 9th inning heroics
-
rowand if you screw this up
-
now we are rockin'
-
wouldnt be the first time lol
-
carlos as usual..always showing up against the scrubbies
-
in fariness to the team..we have both maggs and frank out of the line up..and why ozzie picked now ( i know cy rusch is a lefty) but he is also sitting valentin and playing both harris and uribe who are both struggling big time.. thats like almost 100 homers over a full season sitting on the bench right now
-
is jerry manuel in the park???
-
no..just cause i dont want him to run hard...he's there to pitch...one of the other 8 sleeping giants needs to step up buehrle harris and uribe go down 1-2-3...shocking isnt it???
-
not a bad idea...what we are doing sure isnt working...lets change up our gameplan
-
last 4 games our offense has been on vacation...TIME TO WAKE UP!!!.. 3 hits , 2 of the infield variety and one of those erased on a DP can you say "THIS SUX"!!!!!!
