I don't want to interrupt your conversation, but I don't care for the Beatles circa 1963 - June 1966. The early stuff was not to my liking at all. However, I absolutely love the stuff from July 1966 - 1970. Yes, I know drugs played a part in their drastic change in lyrics and music, but their later stuff was awesome, IMO. The "Abbey Road" CD has been in my various cars for 10 years, and will always continue to be. Their later stuff was just mesmerizing. I didn't understand it until I was doped up, but now I do.

LOL!! I hope you had a great night and a great birthday. You'll only be 21 once, so enjoy the living piss out of it.
-
Here's hoping we have a LOT to talk about. If we do basically minimal in the offseason, I will be not only frustrated, upset, and irritated, but really pissed off as well.
-
Greg Maddux is originally from San Diego, and he still lives there in the offseason. The "experts" are all saying that he would go to the Padres before anywhere else.
-
At the cost of a lot of fans. If things stay the way they are, or get worse, baseball will cease to exist in 25 years. Then those spoiled brats would actually have to work for a living.

If it makes you feel any better, consider these two players: Player A - .267 avg, 42 HR, 105 RBI, .562 SLG, 35 doubles Player B - .325 avg, 37 HR, 104 RBI, .587 SLG, 35 doubles Player A makes 6 million a year, and Player B makes 20 million a year. Is Player B's extra 58 points on the batting average worth an extra 14 million a year? NO WAY. Player A is Frank Thomas, Player B is Manny Ramirez. I know Manny is a GREAT hitter - one of the best, but statistically, he's not 14 million dollars better than Frank.

I'm not going to wait too long and lose an opportunity with someone that wants me. Jose, you'll be waiting a lot longer than you think. I wouldn't miss your cement glove, your .230 average, your ugly porn mustache, or your piss-poor OBP.

Frank, PLEASE LEAVE. He's nothing more than Dave Kingman at this point in his career. Go west, young man. Go west. The ocean is beautiful in Los Angeles, Frank. You would love laying on the beach. Just don't get harpooned by accident.

I would love Alfonseca in a Sox uniform. The more ex-Cubs we have, the better we will be.

After reading several publications, listening to enough talk radio to make my head spin, and glancing over scouting reports, the verdict is out on Bartolo Colon. His arm is fading, and he's deteriorating. The "experts" say that he will break down very soon, and there's a lot of surpise that he hasn't already. Basically, I've heard/read 12 different people who say that he's pitching on borrowed time. I don't know where these "experts" gather their information, but I look at it this way - 12 different people all think the same thing, and they're paid to analyze this crap. I'm not. Let Colon break down on another staff, not ours. Besides 4 starts last year, he was very hittable and mediocre. His record verifies that. Goodbye, Blimpolo. I would tell you don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out, but we've never made a door that big.

I don't know what happened here, but I'll just join the crowd.
-
But his numbers are declining. Has he reached his peak? I don't know. I'm not willing to spend 14 million a year to find out. Sorry. I still think that trading Maggs would be the best thing to happen to this team in the last 20 years. Griffey was traded. The Mariners took the available money and kept winning. A-Rod was traded (let go). The Mariners took the available money and kept winning. I love Maggs, but his salary could make me love 2 or 3 free agents even more.

So Art must know something we don't, huh? Now I want to keep Koch more than ever. After all, Howe knows him better than anyone else (besides his wife, of course).
-
And be a clubhouse cancer.
-
Yas, I'm an eternal optimist, don't you remember? I think Lee can put up 40 HR and 130 RBI's in the near future. Even Maggs hasn't reached that level yet. Carlos Lee reminds me a lot of a poor man's Manny Ramirez. However, in order to be more like Manny, Carlos needs to have a steady diet of cheeseburgers and pizza.
-
Can anyone explain to me what the Mets see in Billy Koch? I still think he'll rebound and return to form, but what makes him so attractive to the Mets all of a sudden? That came out of nowhere.
-
When it's all said and done, Lee will put up numbers BETTER than Maggs' numbers, IMO. He's more of a natural hitter, and he seems to have better plate discipline. I'd keep him too.

The Sox have usually stunk 8 out of every 10 years anyways, so I'll take the rings.
-
I just can't see the Yankees having even the slightest bit of interest in Konerko. They've got no place to play him. Sure they do. He can be the designated Yankee to be thrown down by Pedro Martinez.
-
I almost don't care WHO we get for GIDPaul Konerko, just as long as he and his $8 million are out of here. What a waste.
-
Get a Colon jersey. Not only would it be half price, but it also doubles as a bedsheet.

If you read a lot of sports stuff, or listen to sportsradio a lot, you'll know that Hawkins is leaning towards going to the Cubs. :puke Plus, I don't know if any of you remember Hawkins' comments in July, but he said something along the lines of "I've never liked that team (White Sox). Even as a kid, I never rooted for them because I couldn't stand them." That being said, throw a nice amount of money under his nose, and he'll change his tune PRONTO.
-
I want Terry Bevington back coaching 3rd base. Every team needs a token moron.
-
I don't think Frank is going anywhere, and we'll find out tomorrow if that's true or not. Can you imagine Frank Thomas playing first base 150 games next year? Yeesh. But if the Dodgers are that stupid, then go for it. Frank was a mediocre fielder when he was younger and in better shape. He's even worse now. He didn't look godawful when he played first this past year, but stick him at 1st for a whole season and you're asking for trouble.

As I read that link, the Beatles' "Here Comes The Sun" keeps popping in my head.
