TA likes ominous tweet: The trade Anderson thread
I didn't realize Cease turns 27 this year Could get a haul for him now. He turns 29 in his final ARB year (2025), oof. #blowitup

Absolutely, I'm down for blowing it up, how many others feel the same though guessing maybe 10% of us

TA likes ominous tweet: The trade Anderson thread
I'd be curious to see a poll of Soxtalk members who prefer keeping Giolito, TA, Hendriks and adding marginal at best players vs Trade these guys who still have some value (Even Giolito has some value imo) to retool their awful minor league system (Sox aren't competing in 2023) and these trade chips are GONE or lose massive value after this year I don't wanna make the poll, someone else do it ?

Apples and Oranges Abreu was a 4 win player last year and arguably the glue that held this island of misfit toys together TA was a 2 win shortstop who has off the field/clubhouse issues, who's one trick is hitting for average I was/am pissed that Abreu is gone, I wouldn't mind in the slightest if TA was traded, in fact I kind of want it to happen because we could probably get a decent haul in an overpay

Liam Hendriks coming up in trade discussions
Sox will be better off hanging onto Hendriks until the TDL, just cross your fingers he's performing at his expected norms (this will be tied directly to how the defense is, just based on his comments a few weeks ago)

Rodon to the Yankees, $162 million
He's absolutely trade bait in 2024 (I don't know his controlled years, I'm guessing 2024 is towards the end of his ARB)

Rodon to the Yankees, $162 million
Which of the big market teams need a SP the most? Mets I'm guessing, who else?

White Sox pick Nick Avila in Rule 5
Surprised they didn't try to aquire Manny Ramirez. Maybe in 10 years when the iron is hot
-
6 Years Since Chris Sale Trade
100% Sox cannot develop younger guys. Their success stories are almost always top tier prospects unless it's a pitcher, I give them credit there I guess

Winter Meetings Thread
Harper was the ideal "overpay" option. don't see anything on the horizon that comes close to what couldve been such a no brainer signing as Harper. Talk about blowing it. ffs

Rodon to the Yankees, $162 million
Maybe 3/105

Winter Meetings Thread
Would the Sox get fair value for Cease if he was traded this off season? What does that trade website say we could get for him, just out of curiosity
-
Winter Meetings Thread
nah I think he's saying a well-liked player is getting traded with that being said, he's probably full of ?

Is Now the Time to Trade Gio?
should've traded Giolito after his no hitter
-
Bryan Reynolds’s requests trade
i'd trade Vaughn for him, but it would sting now that abreu already signed with houston a shame the sox couldn't have tried to pull this off last year. would've allowed them to re-sign abreu for a couple more years and solidify their OF i wish we had a real GM

Bryan Reynolds’s requests trade
giving away all our top prospects for a 3 win player? what am i missing

DeGrom 5/$185 to Texas
weren't Cease, Lynn, Kopech, Giolito all traded for with their own guys
-
Great video on Cease's fantastic 2022

Mark Payton resigned
a lot of guys on this team desperately need a reboot that's for sure, hopefully there's an entirely new atmosphere in the clubhouse and the coaching shuffle is enough tbh I'm worried about the team defense, doesn't look good as of now

Jose Abreu in Houston thread
1/20 probably is my guess.

Jose Abreu in Houston thread
if Vaughn struggles this year while Abreu is killing it, oh man, the fans are gonna lose their s%*#
-
Jose Abreu in Houston thread
will be interesting to see how often he DHs in Houston. If I had to guess, it'll be pretty frequently
-
Jose Abreu in Houston thread
I'm with you here but should the Sox have given him 3/60 for his age 37/38/39 years? one of those shitty situations, even harder decision to make than Rodon last year (Sox should've obv sent him a QO)
-
Jose Abreu in Houston thread
and they just let their best DH walk
-
Jose Abreu in Houston thread
my point being it didn't matter how he produced, they were gonna let him play regardless of whether he busts out or not what's his projected fWAR for 2023? ?
