  1. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jul 10, 2007 -> 03:23 PM) His swings reminds me of Ichiro. his stance reminds me of matsui, its basically identical
  2. LOL Verlander choking on the big stage once again it's a joke that buerhle isn't on the all star team this year, an absolute joke it's also a joke that ESPN rated chokelander's no-hitter higher than buerhle's a couple weeks ago
  3. QUOTE(iamshack @ Jul 9, 2007 -> 02:49 AM) I truly don't understand this obsession with trading Javy. The guy has finally begun to pitch like the guy everyone thought he was in 01'-03', and NOW we want to deal him? This is the guy we thought he could be when we dealt Chris Young for him, and now we've got him extended at a fairly reasonable price. i don't think the people who want to trade javier now, want to trade him for any negative reasons due to him. it's just that, this team is in a completely different scenario than we were when we dealt for him we needed javier to be good when we were still in contention in 2006, and he wasn't very good until the later part of the 2nd half this year, we're completely out of contention, and he's performing very very well, and as there are a lot of holes this team needs to plug (Relief Pitching, decent OBP position players/youth), our only strength right now unfortunately means part of it is expendable. again, this has nothing to do with javier's performance being poor, or dealing someone who is finally showing signs of why we made the trade for him, it's just that we honestly probably cant contend with the lineup we're putting on the field now. we need a younger, healthier leadoff hitter that isn't owens, we need a better shortstop, and we need a true centerfielder (and possibly rightfielder). on top of that, we need another starting pitcher to replace contreras, as well as some help in the bullpen contreras + vazquez could potentially fill every single one of those holes but IMO, i hope we don't deal javier, i've always been a huge fan of his (one of the few, even last year), i think he has the best pitching ability of any of our starters. and he's not old, which is a plus obviously. it's just that, i can see why people would want to trade him. their thought process is, we might be just as good in our starting rotation with Buerhle/Garland/Danks/(Insert AAA Starter here)/(Insert Acquired Starter here), as well as being able to bring in new players that could help us out in all the gaping holes we have right now just my opinion
  4. so happy right now, lets build this rotation around buerhle, danks, garland and maybe vazquez contreras needs to go, get something, anything for him if you can ;(
  5. anyone notice how well the twins are at making contact with the ball? they seemingly NEVER swing and miss, what's up with that?
  6. QUOTE(diegotony06 @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 04:12 PM) I have a bad feeling Gavin is gonna get lit up tonight. if only because our D will post 8 errors by the 6th inning
  7. QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 03:49 PM) The night game will be 1-0. vivid memories of the cardinals series last year
  8. 11 runs and we LOST, how embarassing it is for me to be a sox fan right now! UNREAL
  9. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 03:37 PM) Well, at least this game should dissolve any illusions of this team being competitive this season. Not that there were any to begin with. nah, whenever we win a couple games in a row, seems like that's when you see all the unusually optimistic threads popping up about us having a chance. we play a terrible game, and people speak as if they've never given this team a chance all year and that they've predicted a season-long streak of below average ball QUOTE(PoopsThompson @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 03:39 PM) Holy shiiietttt, i just popped in to check the score, is this for real? The hell happened?! judy's baaaaaaaack
  10. 5 runs now for masset in 3.1 IP either the twins are stealing signs and have been since the sweep in the metrodome, or our pitching staff is indeed the worst in all of baseball
  11. the more runs we score the more this hurts, anyone else agree?
  12. i hope this post doesn't go unnoticed, as i'm really curious what is wrong with jon today? seriously is he tipping his pitches as well as simply not getting his other pitches over for strikes? something is clearly different today
  13. why would buerhle sign a deal with a rather large "Home town discount", that doesn't include a full NTC, which then has an 18 month period that he CAN be traded to another team? he'd be stuck with a team he doesn't want to play for, with money that was intended to be a home town discount, not a discount that another team can slurp up and leave mark with a rather unimpressive contract with some random team this IS a possibility right? if i were mark, i'd be like, full NTC, or 17m/4, otherwise there's a likely chance he's going to be getting screwed imo
  14. joejoesox replied to DBAHO's topic in Pale Hose Talk
it's pretty clear to me, if this is actually true, why they didn't put a NTC in this contract it's because they wanted to sign him to an easily-dealable contract, so they could pawn him off after a deal is signed, to another team, with a contract that's easy to pickup for the team KW is trying to deal with clearly KW has no intentions of keeping buehrle, if he refuses to include the no-trade clause, the only reason i could see that happening is if the GM intends to trade the player away, i.e the "Sign & Trade" NBA philosophy terrible
  15. we get swept, then sweep the next 4-game series lol
  16. joejoesox replied to DBAHO's topic in Pale Hose Talk
did anyone listen to the pre-game on the score? farmer stated that Buehrle mentioned to him prior to the game that he really wanted 15/y, however he didnt state how many years so 4/60 instead of 4/50 probably keeps mark on the SS
  17. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 03:49 PM) The problem I have is NO ONE held their arm out to signal the obstruction apparently they did, just showed the extended arm by one of the umpires on CSN
  18. at this point i don't even care who it is, to be honest and terrero, gonzalez, cintron need to go, they're not MLB-talent, i dont care how many years cintron has been in the MLB, we need to dump these guys and get people who are proven everyday players, even if they suck, at least it'll be a change of scenery which is what most sox fans want right now if we're gonna lose, at least give us a different viewpoint of it. if i have to look at another cintron or uribe or terrero or gonzalez at bat, i'm gonna vomit, these guys are possibly the worst hitters i've seen at this level in a long time, they have absolutely no idea what they're doing when they face decent pitching, and you can forget about facing above average pitching uribe's lack of talent with a bat isn't so bad because he's *generally* a good defensive shortstop, at least when he's not trying to show off his arm while throwing balls into the dugout, but when you have 2 guys hitting around him who cant put the ball in play, there ends up being too many automatic outs in this lineup and it won't be any different next year unless we DEAL these losers Kenny, do something, anything, just get different guys on this team
  19. uribe and contreras need to go, asap make it happen kenny
  20. this game is over, since we dont have any pitchers that can throw strikes
  21. it's so difficult to stomach watching this team play anymore cintron gets buckled and wants to swing so bad at two pitches in the dirt, but when the meatball comes over the middle of the plate he just stares it down we have the most unintelligent hitters on our team in all of baseball, half of these guys seem really really dumb and make terrible decisions (uribe gets "Luck" hits, it seems, if you watch his swings that he takes when he gets base hits, they're mirror images of the swings he takes when he whiffs, and when he hits a homerun to left. he's simply not good enough to win, and honestly he never was, i'm sure everyone would agree. he needs to go) i honestly think there's a pretty decent chance that we finish behind kansas city this year, or at least finish with a record near theirs
  22. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 10:57 PM) I'm not necessarily talking about making them faster. I don't think anything can help our 3-6 there, 3-7 with Crede. There are so many questions regarding this team. Why have they just fallen apart offensively since last year getting worse every month? flipped off the swirling lights above the scoreboard just kidding
  23. report on aaron poreda?
