ohhh man, your franshise doesnt vompare to mine as the bears I got leftwich in year 2, and got many good playrs in the draft: michea turner, Kellen Winslow, roscoe parrish, chris gamble... got two year four before i decided that because i couldt make the supebowl that i would rebuild another team. Well, from whitesox.com: Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf met with Barry Praver, the agent for Sidney Ponson, prior to the general manager meetings Monday morning. The big right-hander has long been a favorite of the White Sox brass and was often mentioned as a possible acquisition prior to last season’s trade deadline. Ponson, 27, finished 17-12 with a 3.75 earned run average over 216 innings with the Orioles and Giants in 2003. He reportedly would command a three-year deal worth around $18 million, much like the contract Kelvim Escobar signed with the Angels in November. Praver expects Ponson to sign with some team this week. The White Sox are one from that group in pursuit.

I wouldn't say 14 mil is ridiculous for maggs. He's worth the cash, but we just can't really afford him. Obviously if we could move some overpaid players, then we'd probably be able to swing it. It sucks though as maggs is definitely the heart and soul of the team.

Marte COULD be a dominant closer in the game, but since he's a little unproven in that role, I'm assuming he will set up. Flash won't be here to close, and we can't put koch out there just because we pay him big money, and watch him blow again.

My opinion, but a terrible move if it happens. Sure we cut payroll, but will it really matter with the talent we lose? Ordonez is not worth a #4 starter and someone that I'd say is far from a stud. If Johnson is a stud, then Ordonez must be God Almighty. But hey, thats how messed up the money situation is...
