  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 30, 2009 -> 10:14 PM) Northwestern make a 3 in the last 10 minutes of game time? If they can't play interior defense, they're not making the tournament. That may be the case, but that's how the loss of Coble hurts them. Now Thompson looks hurt, it would be typical for him to be injured as well. Still, it was in Illinois and went to OT despite Tisdale's monster game. It's hard to be too discouraged from a Northwestern standpoint.
  2. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Dec 30, 2009 -> 10:08 PM) LOL if you think that is a foul then you need to take off the NU blinders. Shurna created all the contact. And Tisdale wasn't set. Clear foul.
  3. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Dec 30, 2009 -> 10:04 PM) And Tisdale's 5th foul is complete bulls***. Shocking that a crew with Burr and Hightower is incompetent. Nice blinders. NU playing in a high scoring game, not something I expected them to have a shot at tonight.
  4. QUOTE (zenryan @ Dec 29, 2009 -> 11:46 PM) I know we have a lot of second year players but there's no excuse to look like a high school team size wise vs Wisconsin. Miami fans have been wanting the the S&C coach fired for years so I hope it will finally happen after tonight. Problem is the NFL Canes like the guy and swear by him. Thats all good for grown men to like him but not for 18-20 year old kids who are still growing into college football players. I've never heard of a fan base wanting to get rid of a strength coach. Always great to see Miami lose. Harris played pathetically poor and Wisconsin outmuscled them. Great to see a Big Ten win. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Dec 30, 2009 -> 12:16 AM) It's all way overblown. Here is the video of the area's that James was in. James is one of many, many players that have been in these areas over the years. http://www.kcbd.com/global/Category.asp?C=...eoCatNoE=111449 Craig James is such an utter douche. It's gonna be a fun situation, but this is coming from the attorney so you have to know for sure it's complete BS. I haven't formed an opinion on the situation yet, but I know I want Leach to get fired to see a Big 12 rival take a hit.
  5. This Leach story is pretty big because he wasn't going to get fired for on field performance at Tech for a long time. Mark Mangino part 2. This could get ugly.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 23, 2009 -> 10:29 PM) BTW, awful coaching by Weber tonight. Illinois had all the momentum when they cut it to 6 points, and he decided to bring in the most unproductive hyped player in history, Alex Legion. The offense really never recovered the rhythm they had. The coaching may have been the reason they lost, but it was mostly because they refused to slow it down until late in the 1st half. Mizzou had the horses to win slow, half-court battles last year, but this year they've really struggled when they don't control the tempo. It's extremely hard to run with Mizzou and Illinois didn't slow down themselves. It helps that Mizzou runs a couple guys deeper. Tisdale and a couple others looked gas when Missouri made that final run.
  7. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 23, 2009 -> 02:27 PM) Just got to St. Louis and their sports talk is so bad that it is fun to listen to. They are all excited for Illinois/Missouri tonight. Oh Boy! Rams + no NBA team + Blues struggling = lame in the winter in StL. It's all Cardinals in that town and Mizzou sports get some attention, but given their sports teams it's hard to blame them.
  8. If they chose Wrigley I would have made that a GIF and my permanent sig (the 2005 WS is THE permanent avatar).
  9. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 16, 2009 -> 12:19 PM) And no one in eastern or central Iowa will be able to watch Iowa or Iowa State's bowl games without a dish (or rabbit ears for Hawk fans). ISU game is on NFL Network, but there's now a disagreement between the owners of the Fox stations and Mediacom, the cable company that dominates Iowa. Both sides are really pessimistic that Mediacom will be showing Fox programming after the New Year. Pretty much why Mizzou won by being passed over. Mediacom is in Columbia and a lot of Missouri as well. NFL Network = bad for bowl games. Of course, I have NFL Net. so I didn't care too much.
  10. The Mizzou sites I read always come to the Big Ten discussion at least once a year. It's repetitive.
  11. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Dec 12, 2009 -> 12:06 AM) Also, can I just say that studying for finals on a Friday night freaking sucks. Graduating might be worse.
  12. QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 11, 2009 -> 08:29 AM) Do you think that they cared about the Central Michigan players' feelings when Kelly left CMU to coach Cincy? Yes, it's part of the college football coaching ladder. However, the odds are pretty decent that Notre Dame never has a year as good as the one Cincinnati is having now. Kelly could be leaving the best year of his career before it's finished. The Cincinnati players are thinking that he took a step back because they're undefeated and Notre Dame is 6-6 and is losing their best 2 players.
  13. Cool, but when it's 6 outfielders from a 6 team league that's not very selective is it?
  14. In fairness, Cincy allowed only 20.1 points per game last year. They lost a lot of defensive starters.
  15. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Dec 10, 2009 -> 04:30 PM) a big surprise in center, i dont follow the minors as much as id like to but ive never heard of the guy out there and would have expected mitchell there....whats the word on this nick guy. edit just now seeing it was based on last years performance. Right, Mitchell didn't play enough or dominate enough to get the spot. An all-prospect team would clearly have Mitchell, Danks and Thompson.
  16. 2009 All-FutureSox Team We wanted to make an all-star team of sorts for FutureSox, but fielding an ‘all-prospect’ team would be as easy as picking the top player at each position from our 2009 Postseason Top 25 Prospects. Clearly that would be somewhat redundant. Instead, we decided to create the All-FutureSox Team as the best performers of 2009. Forget age and park adjustments, this is simple stats. Who had the most productive year for his minor league team(s)? That’s what this is. more...
  17. Wow. That Mota one was under everyone's radar. Never heard of him.
  18. Here's fangraph's. I know someone posted the draft reviews from them, but I figured I'd keep the prospects lists in one thread.
  19. The Nets wouldn't have only 2 wins if Devin Harris hadn't missed half of their games so far. He's their best player so they aren't the worst team in the league. I don't see why people care about the shoe tying thing. What a ridiculous thing to act like you care about.
  20. Not yet, he does like to throw a lot. Had a lot of pickoffs, caught stealings and throwing errors in Bristol. I'm sure more will come when he is in full season ball this year.
  21. QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 5, 2009 -> 10:56 PM) I saw Cincy's offense today. TCU would crush them. Agree, but that was also Pike's worst game of the year by quite a bit and they still scored 45 points.
  22. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Dec 5, 2009 -> 10:39 PM) Can't wait to see Texas get their b**** asses rolled by Bama. Texas gets everything in life on a golden platter, just sickening. I understand your hate, but I'm not sure what the golden platter was in this one.
  23. QUOTE (3E8 @ Dec 5, 2009 -> 10:32 PM) I wish Nebraska called a play action pass on their last 3rd down. If they got a first down they could've run that clock down What makes you think they were going to complete it? They couldn't move the ball at all. It was an awful game, but amazingly entertaining. Props to Nebraska's defense.
  24. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 5, 2009 -> 03:54 PM) Yeah, you are right. I wasnt trying to discredit Fresno State's quality, but that was the most points they have scored all season, which Illinois shouldn't be allowing. True. It was funny when the BTN sideline reporter interviewed Hill after the game and he was offended by her saying it was a shock to Big Ten nation or something stupid.
