QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 5, 2009 -> 03:27 PM) Although when you give up 53 points to a WAC team, theres not many teams you are gonna beat. That's ignorant to the quality of Fresno State. They're not a bad team at all. It's a solid program with a good coach. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 5, 2009 -> 02:47 PM) Weirdest ending I've ever seen in the Illinois/Fresno game. Yes. Kinda fitting Juice ends up finishing his career on a pick. -
QUOTE (Ranger @ Dec 3, 2009 -> 06:38 PM) You mean hope the Reds pass on somebody like Beckham? In all honesty, though, Alonso may turn out to be a pretty good player, too. Not to mention Justin Smoak, who was drafted after Beckham, looks like an absolute stud in the making. That draft was just stacked.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 4, 2009 -> 06:35 AM) Is ESPN360 free or is it an Insider subscription deal? I want to watch the SIU/William&Mary game Saturday and need to know if I have to pick up a copy of ESPN the Magazine so I have Insider It's free, but your internet provider has to support it. -
QUOTE (KaneCoKeith @ Dec 4, 2009 -> 12:39 AM) Found this over at Diamond Futures. At least it offers slightly different views. Team #26 - Chicago White Sox Welcome to Soxtalk! That was a good read even if I strongly disagree with it. You won't find a better pro-Viciedo argument than they gave. Danks isn't close to ready, but I still think with his defense he can be a solid CF. He just needs to be competent offensively and I believe he still can do that.

QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Dec 3, 2009 -> 11:03 PM) Other names rumored for KU job are Sumlin, Fedora, Edsall, Fulmer, Strong, Gil, Koetter Kansas' hiring wish list is very ambitious. Edsall is realistic and a decent hire I suppose (same could be said for Gil), but I don't see some of the bigger names on the Kansas list wanting that job. I'm not saying it's a bad job, but you would think Harbaugh could do better if he wants to leave. -
QUOTE (DBAHO @ Dec 2, 2009 -> 08:43 PM) If you need to watch a game on Setanta, just go to a pub or something, because there's more EPL games on FSC than there is Setanta. This is America. That's not that easy to find, not to mention most of the weekend games are on in the morning. It's not the most convenient set up.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Dec 2, 2009 -> 06:25 PM) Is there any call in sports that refs or officials screw up as often as the charge/block call in college basketball? It is ridiculous how terrible refs are at getting that right. Agree. A ref actually overruled another ref to call a charge on one I saw tonight where the announcers admitted the defender was moving. It's frustrating. QUOTE (zenryan @ Dec 2, 2009 -> 10:19 PM) congrats to the National League. Sour grapes are fun, but if the ACC is down in basketball and we already know it can't play football, what does it do well? Sorry, I had to take a jab back. -
QUOTE (JPN366 @ Dec 2, 2009 -> 03:39 PM) Yay! A soccer/futbol thread! Two thoughts, I love the black and sky blue Man. U uniforms and Chelsea looks tough. They made Arsenal look foolish the other day. Does anybody have the Fox Soccer Channel/Fox Sports World? That's how I keep up. I wished they showed Spanish League games. I'd like to see some Real Madrid or Barcelona games. I think DirecTV charges extra for Setanta. Everyone charges extra for Setanta, it's a premium channel. La Liga is on ESPN now actually and seems to be once a week, but I've only noticed Barcelona games.

QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 1, 2009 -> 08:59 PM) Cole is awful. Drew seems ok for now. I'll give him a chance. Yeah, Drew has some potential. I love Denise so it's big that she's getting a bigger role. It would be nice if they brought back Jordan for some episodes. She's a good character and it looks like they will need the help in the short run. I didn't care for the first episode, but the 2nd one was pretty solid.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 1, 2009 -> 08:40 PM) And Dickie V sucking off UNC. I won't defend Vitale, but UNC is THE program right now so while it may be excessive nothing he is saying is inaccurate. -

QUOTE (danman31 @ Nov 30, 2009 -> 01:01 AM) It should be close, but I still like the ACC. The Big Ten doesn't look as deep as it should have been. I think Northwestern and Minnesota win, but Michigan State loses. Northwestern won and Penn State's win put the Big Ten is solid shape. Purdue will make it 3-0 Big Ten, but it could easily finish 3-3 by the end of the night. As far as I'm concerned, at this point, the Big Ten doesn't need Michigan State to win for the Big Ten to win. -

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Dec 1, 2009 -> 07:36 PM) Unless a team has much better athletes, NU will stick around in a half court game. Their half court defense has been awesome the last 3 games against major conference foes. NU is really doing what they need to in non-conference so far to give themselves a shot at a tourney spot. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 30, 2009 -> 06:56 PM) I was being sarcastic, I didnt think I needed the green. They have the players clearly. Yeah, academics are a lame excuse. I don't understand why a high school athlete would want to go to Notre Dame. They offer nothing that isn't matched or topped by several other programs that don't have the handicap of playing in Indiana. The regional recruiting for the midwest (Ohio and Pennsylvania are up there, but that's not where Notre Dame is) isn't as good as Texas, Florida or California. Many of the other top programs are in those areas. Notre Dame can't expect to be a top tier program when they are #4 in terms of current prestige among the midwest (behind Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State), which isn't as deep as the areas mentioned. Despite all that they've still recruited supposed top talent, so why are academics a valid excuse? -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 29, 2009 -> 09:20 PM) According to the Trib today, BA rated Santos as the second best fastball in the minors, behind only Strausburg. http://www.baseballamerica.com/blog/prospects/?p=7107 They just said it was the 2nd fastest on average, doesn't make it the 2nd best.

QUOTE (zenryan @ Nov 28, 2009 -> 10:24 PM) I was at the Miami-South Florida game today and the tempuratures were in the 50s and I was freezing. I dont know how you northern fans sit through those cold ass games. Layers and hand warmers though cold in 50s means you were probably just under dressed. -

QUOTE (T R U @ Nov 28, 2009 -> 04:01 PM) I could have sworn I heard that if one non BCS school made a BCS bowl another one couldnt.. I think they were saying how Boise would be screwed if TCU got in.. That only applies to the automatic spot. A non BCS school can automatically get in if they are ranked high enough, but 2 can't automatically qualify that way. -

QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 27, 2009 -> 10:20 PM) Is Jack Cooley not playing? Plus he had Dragevich coming next year. I never thought Cooley was all that good. Sure he's big, but what else is he good at? Just being big isn't enough in a major conference. I'm hoping Dragicevich does well, but he's no Scheyer. -

Especially ridiculous when you barely beat an unranked team and you are #5 in the country. They really need to actually lose some of these close games so that joke program can go down a peg this season.
