Just from looking at some box scores (yes, the Arena League has box scores) the games seem to end in 3 hours or less.

As I see Sweeney hitting .229 this season I have to wonder if putting him in Winston-Salem was really a good decision. He seems so overmatched that I can't see him gaining anything from this. He only played 29 games last season in rookie league and scouts have said that he hasn't grown into his body enough to have power. If he has no experience and no power how is he supposed to handle high-A ball? Almost all of these guys have played at least 1 full professional season and some of them played college. Sweeney is only 19. What's the hurry? Just because he hit well against scrubs and prospects in Spring Training he should be hurried to Winston-Salem? I just don't see it. Same thing with Ricardo Nanita who has less reason to be there and is playing even worse (.182). I think Brian Anderson is the only one that belongs there of the 3 that skipped Kanny and even he isn't doing well. Not only is this hurting Nanita and Sweeney, but it is limiting a guy like Thomas Brice. Brice played a full season at Kanny and played well. He is tearing it up this season and should definitely be promoted. It is simple to me that something has to be done here. Thoughts?

Haha, I love it! Brice went 0-4. Bum. When are the Sox going to promote him? He is batting .360! Birmingham won 4-3. Nothing really of note. Everything I saw in the box score was pretty meh. Heath Phillips pitched pretty well I guess. Box Score Winston-Salem's only winning streak of the season is over. It lasted all of 2 freaking games. Sweeney and Nanita were both 0 for 3. Pedro Lopez moved to the leadoff spot with newly promoted Andy Gonzalez at the 2 spot. Brian Anderson's stint away from the team for unknown reasons is over. He went 2 for 3 with a double and a walk in the 6-hole. Nanita bat 7th. So a new look for the lineup, but the same results. Only 2 runs. Box Score

My point is getting Huff basically wastes Crede. Crede would have to be involved in the deal and I'd hate to give up on him this early.
-
Crede is gonna figure it out and turn himself into an All-Star. He has it in flashes. He is still young and I wouldn't trade for another young guy in Aubrey Huff.
-
Michael Jenkins! I love the pick. This guy was a stud at OSU and the Falcons need a WR. This has to be the first time in a while I'm completely satisfied with a Falcons pick.
-
My Falcons traded up! This is exciting. What are they going to do?!

Harris Uribe Maggs Frank Konerko Gload Crede Rowand Olivo/Alomar or Uribe/Harris Jose etc. Trade Carlos. I've never liked him and never will. He plays stupid and his defense is a liability at times. Get a SP for him and hope Reed can step in well.

I know, I don't know why he would even tempt fait.

Chris Perry taken ahead of Kevin Jones. Even for a team that is somewhat set at RB, Jones might be worth it in the 2nd round if he lasts that long.

Kannapolis Talent Evident, But Inconsistent By Danny Santaromita This 2004 Kannapolis Intimidators team is loaded with talent. Six of the players on the roster made the Preseason All FutureSox Team. These players and more have tons of talent for the Intimidators. So far this season most have displayed this talent, but unfortunately it has not been consistent enough to get the team a winning record. Currently, Kannapolis stands at 6-7, already 5 ½ games out of the South Atlantic League’s Northern Division lead. In the hitting department Thomas Brice is leading the way. Brice is showing why he was last season’s Player of the Year for Kannapolis. The talented outfield trio of Ricardo Nanita, Ryan Sweeney, and Brian Anderson in Winston-Salem held Brice back. This season Brice is leading the team in batting average (.391), slugging percentage (.630), hits (18), total bases (29), and walks (5). With all three of the aforementioned outfielders in Winston-Salem playing well under expectations it is hard to say that Brice shouldn’t be called up. The Aussie has the tools to make it in the bigs, but he needs to be given a chance first. The Sox have to show that he is going to get a chance to prove himself instead of being held back while top prospects who are at a level too high continue to struggle. Also hitting well are 19 year-old Micah Schnurstein and 18 year-old Robert Valido. Schnurstein is batting .341 while Valido is batting .315 and leads the team with 12 runs and 6 doubles. Both players are highly regarded and if they continue to hit this well throughout the season they will shoot up the charts on many prospect lists given their young ages. The rest of the Kannapolis lineup has been a disappointment. Clint King and freshly promoted to Winston-Salem Andy Gonzalez are the only other hitting with a batting average above .250. Catcher Charlie Lisk is batting only .234, but leads the team in RBIs with 15. He has hit for a lot of power so far this season, with another team high of 4 home runs. Antoin Gray has not gotten consistent playing time so it is not surprising to see him struggling, but with Gonzalez playing for the Warthogs, Gray will be getting much more playing time. Chris Young, Brandon Bounds, Seth Morris, and Gustavo Molina are all hitting below the Mendoza line. Despite a disappointing outing in his last start Brandon McCarthy is beginning to solidify himself as a top pitching prospect in the White Sox organization. The 6 foot 7 inch right-hander has 25 strikeouts, twice as many as any other player on the Intimidators. In 18.2 innings of work so far this season McCarthy has an ERA of 3.86 and to go with the 25 strikeouts he has only walked four. In his season debut he pitched six innings of shutout work, only surrendering two hits and one walk while striking out six. He has since shown chinks in the armor, but his numbers remain very impressive. McCarthy will not likely get a promotion to Winston-Salem this season as he is only 20. This is only Brandon’s first full season of professional baseball so the Sox probably want him to get a full season at Kannapolis before promoting him. Ryan Rodriguez has been the only other starter to make some noise so far this season. In two starts Rodriguez has an ERA of 2.79, but he hasn’t gone deep into games. The 19 year-old is showing some promise, but it would be nice to see him go deeper into games. He has only pitched 9.2 innings so far. The rest of the rotation has been a major disappointment. Daniel Haigwood (6.00 ERA), Tim Tisch (8.76 ERA), and Brian Miller (12.54 ERA) have all struggled this season. Miller came into the season as the staff ace and has really disappointed. He had a shot at a mid-season promotion, but he won’t get it pitching as awfully as he has. Bright spots in the bullpen have been Jeremy Hudson, Mike Moat, Adam Larson, 19 year-old Fabio Castro, and closer Ehren Wasserman. The starting pitching will be the key for Kannapolis to win games. Most of the starters have not pitched to expectations and they will need to do so for the team to starting winning consistently. A slew of moves made by the Intimidators could change things. Cory Haggerty came in to replace promoted Andy Gonzalez and the Sox signed Leo Dagile to replace demoted Chris Kelly. A possibly huge move was promoting Orionny Lopez from extended spring training to replace Adam Larson (DL). Lopez is a highly touted pitcher and could make a difference with the club. Upcoming Schedule April 24-27 vs. Augusta (Red Sox) April 29-May 2 @ Lakewood (Phillies) May 3-4 vs. Delmarva (Orioles) May 5-7 vs. Lake County (Indians)

I think they just wanted the best available player. They probably thought that Andrews was a steal so they couldn't pass it up. Andy Reid is being interviewed by ESPN and he just mentioned that he likes Terrell Owens "ambition". I wouldn't call it ambition lol.

I can't imagine the Eagles are going to trade up for a RB. They already have awful WRs, how can they possibly not pick one in the first round?
-
My PTC with a base hit. Booyah!
-
The WRs keep coming up really high in the draft. Imagine if Mike Williams was in the draft. WOW!
-
It makes sense for them to trade. If they will be satisfied with any of the 4 lineman that are going to go soon and don't have any one favorite they should trade and get more picks. They might even be able to get 2 of these guys if they know what they are doing.
-
Coincidence? I think not.
-
I know. Not very promising.
-
I know, decisions, decisions...
-
Predictions are fine. Just don't say them as facts as others have.
-
Get the f***ing mic out of there. This is ridiculous. WTF was that. Let the guy have his f***ing talk in private. :fyou Suzy Kolber, the worst sideline reporter ever.
-
Stop making predictions sound like facts people. You aren't the first and you won't be the last. It's annoying as all hell.
-
I've always been for trading Carlos Lee. He is just not the kind of player I want on my team. He is awful in the field. He makes stupid mistakes. He swings for the fences. As you said he has not grasped "Ozzie ball". It's too early to make a move. Maybe call Reed up with the next injury to a hitter and then see how he does. If he does well, trade Carlos for a SP.

I was afraid the Falcons would take Hall. Our d sucked last year. Our secondary sucked last year. Hopefully Hall can step in and help, but I am worried.
