I'll have a new version up tonight subtracting UT Joe Persichina from the board.

Confirmed that IF/OF Joe Persichina was cut loose. He signed with Sussex in the Can Am League. So, the minor league cuts from last week potentially consist of Persichina, C Zach Larson, IF Jesus Avila and OF Sergio Morales. Two more as yet unidentified. I was looking forward to seeing Persichina with B'ham this year as a utility player.

All this Twins love has to stop. It's nauseating enough to hear the Vikings getting slurped during the entire football season, I'd like a break during baseball season. They'll tease like usual, then fall flat in the playoffs if they make them.

QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Mar 31, 2010 -> 07:52 AM) I just got back from a four day visit to Camelback Ranch to watch the Sox, it is a great experience!! With that, I know that this might be hard to believe, but from my perspective, Viciedo looked in GREAT shape, he is a husky guy, but we watched him him in the minor league fields each day and he belted a 420 foot homer yesterday. There were only five of us there each morning, one of the pitchers that had the coaches buzzing was Axelrod. He has never seemed to be on anyone's prospect list. It was mostly parents of the players and the four people in my group. It was cool!!! I'm so envious of you right now. It would be awesome to go out there even for a few days. Here's Dylan Axelrod's profile... Dylan Axelrod

Subtract catcher Zach Larson from the mix, he signed with the St. Paul Saints. He must have been released. New version up in the original post.

QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 05:10 PM) That blonde needs shorter shorts Cameltoe at Camelback.

Is Jerry Blevins anorexic?

QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 04:32 PM) Gotta love the cameraman scanning for tail between innings. Giggity.

The camera operator is awesome.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 04:21 PM) No. For 2 very basic reasons: 1.) Beane places a good deal of value on defensive ability and Kouzmanoff is a significantly better defender than Teahen and 2.) Kouzmanoff is under non-guaranteed team control for 3 more years where as you're locked into Teahen for the next 3 years for $14M guaranteed. I wasn't serious, sorry I forgot the green. One can dream of Kouz in black and white.
-
There seems to be a lot of talent at this game.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 04:10 PM) Except Kozmanoff if a very good defender at 3B. They have similar offensive upside (Kouz probably has him here though his walk rate is disturbing) but you pretty much know that Kouzmanoff is gonna pick it for you at the hot corner and there's a lot of value in having one less question mark on the defensive side. Kouzmanoff actually reminds me a lot of Crede, their offensive numbers are very similar (though Kevin's K rate is quite a bit higher) and they both give you quite a bit on the defensive side though Crede was the better defender (Kouzmanoff's defensive style is much less spectacular but very reliable). Do you think Beane would do a straight swap of Teahen for Kouzmanoff?
-
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 03:57 PM) Teahen is alittle better offensively whereas Kouz gives you better defense. This will probably change when Teahen has a great year with the bat, (at least that is what I'm banking) but as of right now, I'm taking Kouz by a slim, slim margin cause of the defense though I wanna see how Teahen does not getting moved around. He is a bit of an enigma though (Kouz). He was the much better prospect than Teahen (though Teahen had the better potential comming out), but he has not translated it to the majors. Teahen would benefit much better moving to a hitters park. Kouz is moving from brutal Petco to... the Coliseum. Not good for him. It's pretty much a wash, their respective numbers are mostly the same. Teahen has been in the majors longer and has fewer homeruns.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 03:49 PM) Kouz, only because you know your getting great defense at 3b. Both have similar OPS, so I go with the better D. More power, better nickname not a factor?
-
Quick poll, Kouzmanoff or Teahen?

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 03:31 PM) Ya I think it's someone with the name rowand in his name (rowand's rowdies?). Can't remember who though but he's saw a few games last season and updated before. EDIT: It is letsgoarow. He's from Biscuit-town. Yeah, I knew he was in Montgomery, didn't know he was going to Charlotte. We need to take up donations and get somebody some Knights season tickets.
-
My bad, he won three Carolina League pitcher of the week awards.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 03:20 PM) He was 7-7 on the season with a 3.64 ERA. You might be right on the AS thing, I don't know where to check that. Maybe he had a good first half. I think it was a good first half, he was promoted to B'ham at the beginning of August in 2007.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 03:12 PM) OT: But our AAA affiliate will be fun to watch and pretty deep. Might have to get that poster who lives in Charlotte to give us some updates on some guys. We have someone stationed in Charlotte?
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 02:44 PM) As a 22 year old in high A ball with a 1.31 WHIP. I know he had a good record and I think he made the Carolina League All Star team.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 12:23 PM) When I was in Tempe, Botts was in charge of tipping the locker room attendant who had gotten them dominoes pizza for the post-game meal. I could’ve sworn he leaned over and said, “You’re lucky I’m letting you live.” As long as he's swinging a bat, then you have a chance to escape.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 12:14 PM) I'm heartbroken that Jason Botts didn't make the 40-man roster. I think every team should be required to have at least one man who looks shockingly like Frankenstein in their locker room. He was so ugly, they released him. He's stalking around Glendale waiting for a thunderstorm.
