  1. I was watching OTL:Nightly tonight, one of the few places of sanity on the network (plus Bob Ley) and they were discussing coaches contacting recruits via text messaging. The current earliest allowable date of contact is junior year, IIRC. Is this too early, too late, or just right? Some of you who are athletically gifted, unlike me, may be able to elaborate on the recruiting process, but when did it start for you guys? When should this stuff start and how often is allowable?
  2. QUOTE(Beastly @ May 29, 2006 -> 11:02 PM) I don't know if I'm off here, but, Nelson reminds me of a guy like Nomo who has been bouncing around. Did we ever deal him somewhere? I just think he's still got something left in him if we wanted to even bother. Or what's this I hear about Esteban Yan being designated for assignment by Los Angeles? I don't know, just throwing out a wacky .02 about our bullpen. Or bring up a young guy and see him get beat up like usual. Well, Nelson didn't look horrible today, so that's a positive. Yan needs to stay away from the south side. That, and we need to call up the right young guy. That means keep away from Montero, Farnsworth, and anyone who can't top 92 with a fastball and has more than one pitch he can throw for strikes. That's why Gage and I have been intrigued by Tracey.
  3. QUOTE(OilCan @ May 29, 2006 -> 06:37 PM) I would rather vote for one of his old mates, Craig Biggio. Heck yes.
  4. Alan is the first interview. 5-10 minutes in maybe?
  5. QUOTE(Soxy @ May 29, 2006 -> 01:43 PM) So hot. Why did I agree to play tennis close to midday on the hottest day of the year. Ich. Because tennis is awesome?
  6. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 29, 2006 -> 04:24 PM) Heads22IsAnAss And to think I supported you becoming an admin on TalkBulls.
  7. 21-3, 31-9.
  8. Lumsden Love. WGN has Nelson at 87.
  9. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ May 29, 2006 -> 02:50 PM) Why the hell isn't Politte pitching in this monstrous blowout? He's more valuable than Nelson.
  10. Cliff should hold this one.
  11. I'm glad Ozzie recognized that as the perfect situation for Widge to hit. Jim doesn't need to hit again, and if we are clearing out the bench, let Widge hit. In the rare chance AJ gets hurt, we'd lose the DH, but it shouldn't matter.
  12. Gload destroys Cleveland.
  13. Widge doubles, putting a man in scoring position for Ross "Manimal" Gload.
  14. Yay for Ozzie listening to me.
  15. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ May 29, 2006 -> 02:39 PM) What happened to Javy? I didn't get to see most of the game. Very solid start.
  16. Money says Gload goes deep. I wouldn't mind seeing Widge PH for Thome.
  17. Widge enjoying life. PABS
  18. Yay, it's play the bench day.
  19. I'd like to see maybe an inning out of Nelson and two out of Cliff. Failing that, maybe Neal is still alive.
  20. This would be a great day for Cliff.
  21. Sounds like a funeral home in Cleveland. OMG!11!!1!! ROSS GLOAD
  22. They were tied with Detroit coming in.
