    Looks like Philly is trying to do a MB impression with a pair of pickoffs.
  2. I suppose that Tallet move nixed any chance of Gload tonite.
  3. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 10:42 PM) Coming from me, this probably means nothing. However, jabs is positive in the chats. LOL, I guess i'm one of the people that likes you then. I don't usually agree with you, but still. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 10:42 PM) Thome is a beast. That's positive. The bullpen is obviously shaky and Ozzie leaves his starters in too long but maybe that's why. I'll give him a little more than roughly 7 percent of the season.
  4. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 10:41 PM) We are now 5-1 in games in which Thome homers and 0-4 in games in which he doesn't. That won't last obviously. Also, great game for Pablo tonight. He now leads the team in hitting, and has an OPS over 1.100. Crede was good as well. I've been impressed with Crede. He seems to be grabbing some of the momentum he had at the end of the year.
  5. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 10:40 PM) I'm still trying to forget the ugliness of the Ozuna game. That'll be difficult because it's been forever since I've seen you focus on anything f***ing positive.
  6. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 10:35 PM) :headshake
  7. Neal Cotts gives up a hit. Trade him. TRADE HIM!!
  8. QUOTE(BlackBetsy @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 10:24 PM) Not a bad idea. He could spell the rest of the pen. At this point, he's better than Politte anyway. Anderson or Dye might be better options. Or Uribe.
  9. At least the bandwagon's a little lighter. Now for Nikola to get a hit. Edit: Looks like he at least got some wood on it.
  10. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 10:03 PM) 10-5. Cut Politte now, he's toast. 2 homers in one f***ing inning. Awesome! He gone! I'm sorry, but shut the f*** up.
  11. QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 09:46 PM) On a side note - do any administrator's understand what happened to my avatar? It was showing at the beginning of this game. It's there.
  12. The server must hate it when people hate on BA.
  13. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 08:51 PM) Fine, give him time. Just not on the Major league roster. Send him down to AAA for a month and let him work out his problems. Sure, he has TONS of potential; the game against the Mariners' King (AKA Felix Hernandez) was a show; he doesn't belong on the MLB roster at this point in time. Also, it would be a different situation if he were atleast hitting the ball and getting out all the time, but he has tons of K's. What other option do we have? Mackowiak is not an everyday CF. Owens and Sweeeney wouldn't have the D.
  14. QUOTE(Felix @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 08:48 PM) Nope, they are prospects, just like BA. It was sarcasm. People aren't even giving Brian a chance. He's replacing one of the most popular guys on the team, coming in for a world champion and is having some trouble. I'll say now, he'll get a hit tonite.
  15. QUOTE(Felix @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 08:47 PM) Owens and Sweeney are putting up numbers like Anderson is right now.. except in AAA. They must suck as well, right?
  16. It's only a matter of time before people start saying Owens.....if people have been criticizing BA's defense....
  17. Of course, we're mounting something and someone is silent.

  19. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 03:47 PM) I am honestly very surprised that list doesn't include what was, as far as I know, the deadliest tornado ever recorded - the Tri-State tornado. Ripped through MO, IL and IN in the 50's I think, killed hundreds of people, wiped numerous entire towns off the map. It was just in reference to multi-vortex storms. I dunno it the Tri-States was a multi-vortex. The one that hit my town had 2-3 tornadoes, depending on who you ask. I think the second funnel was an F1. I also think the big one might have gone clockwise, but I don't remember where I heard that.
  20. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 04:08 PM) wow Tracey is way overated....him and Rogowski both overated on that list. Id put Lumsden, Hernandez, and possibly Getz ahead of them.... a case can be made for a couple others too. We'll talk about this on the podcast, but just keep in mind we take a variety of things into account, including chances to getting to the majors, total potential and prior performance. Lumsden was injured, Hernandez fizzled last year, and this is just Getz' first full year.
  21. Clip as on Comedy Central. http://media.michellemalkin.com/4-12SouthPark.wmv
  22. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 01:49 PM) Yeah it is a great place. Too bad I wasn't going to ISU next year, otherwise we could've met up sometime. Instead I'm going to UNI though. Who knows maybe I'll transfer there if I don't like it in Cedar Falls. Did you ever hear about the Charles City tornadoes in the early 60's? I forgot what the date was but no one there thought a tornado could rip through a river town because they have the Cedar River there. Anyways my cousion once talked to a lady whose house got hit by one of the three tornadoes that day. And a week or so later they got a message that her coat was found up by Austin, Minnesota, about 70 miles away. Yeah, it was the same day as the Oelwein one, May 15, 1968. I believe that was also an F5.....two of them that close together is just crazy.
