Best: My HS team surprising the rest of the state. We are 3-18 and win in the first round of the playoffs, upsetting one of the better teams in the conference on their court. The 1999-2000 season when the Iowa State men's basketball team was undoubtedly one of the Top 3 in the nation. Their loss to Michigan State, which the Cyclones were leading until late in the second half, was called the real national championship game. ISU gets screwed getting a 2 seed in the region with the best team in the nation. On the way there, the Clones lost 4 other games, including 1 to Drake. The others were to Cincy who was number 1 at game time and Oklahoma and Colorado on the road in overtimes. Undoubtedly best season in Iowa State history. Marcus Fizer was good then.....real good. First half of ISU's 2002 football season that jettisoned them up to 9th in the rankings.... Worst.... The second half of the 2002 season that destroyed and good feeling from the first half of the season. My God, every Sox season for a while now.

I'd like an Oakland-Astros series. If the Stros don't make it, LA would be OK.

I don't recall there being a tape of the first WTC collision on TV for quite a while after the incident. I think it would've been all over the TV like the second one.

I don't think it can be said that Bush started off strong. I tend to think he got stronger as he went.

Half the battle in a debate is how you present yourself.

I have to think that Kerry presented himself MUCH better on stage and as an undecided that's one of the first things you notice. Kerry seemed quite sure of himself, even with contradictions as he spoke clearly. Bush would take a while to get on track. Once he got started, he spoke with confidence, but Kerry appeared to be the better debater. I want to see what the TRUE undecideds on the boards think.

I guess I just don't think Bush is improving his standing tonight, whereas if he had a better stage presence I think it might. Silences and ummm's look very stupid on television, to me at least.

In Oelwein, it's 100 dollar fine for desecrating signs like that. We've had 24 Kerry signs go missing in town and 1 Bush sign. That's not the brightest thing to do, IMO.
