  1. Q out.
  2. How long til we are rumored to be going after a package of Lilly and Derrek Lee.
  3. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 04:09 PM) He's still trying to be a power hitter, but right now he is just seeing the ball really well and hitting it with authority. I doubt he'll keep this up very long, but it is refreshing to see compared to Beckham having no clue what he's doing and trying to hit 500 ft. homers everytime he swings. I don't think Gordon's trying to do that. I think he's completely mentally f***ed right now.
  4. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 03:33 PM) If it's truly detached the season is over for him. The long tendon of the lat can be ruptured from the attachment site in the bicepital groove on the anterior part of the humeral head. This would be the grade 3 tendon injury. If this is what happened he will need surgery. The physician will need to find the tendon re-route it back up through the groove and re-attach it. The good news is that tendons usually respond very well to re-attachment to bone. If it is in the mid-tendon area, it is much worse but it usually comes off the bone. This is similar to the injury that Mitchell suffered in ST where a tendon pops off the bone. This is a best case 3 month injury and worst 8 to 9 month injury. I have never seen this injury in a pitcher. I have seen it in other throwers, javelin specifically and it went well. So the Sox intramural track and field team still has hope.
  5. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 03:30 PM) That would be stupid. I'm sure by starter, he means a starter at DH.
  6. Well, I hate the Bulls, so it's largely positive outside of the Peavy news for me.
  7. Well, time to see what Dan Hudson's got.
  8. Detached is rarely a good term.
  9. DL, Marquez up
  10. I wonder if Viciedo has been playing well enough that he could go in such a deal
  11. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 12:33 PM) I don't think we should stop. Alternatively, I propose that we get it, get it. Ballsy. I like it.

  13. So.....at 70 bucks or so per home game....how many more can you afford to bring her to? I mean if you two are going to be good luck and all....
  14. Hicks and Ramos
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 11:18 PM) I agree he appears to be a class guy. He seems really great in interviews. I wish him the best but he should be on a lousy team if he wants to be a regular. No offense, but he's also not a second baseman. He's really a bad infielder. He just doesn't bring much to the table on a contending baseball team. Trust me, he sucked in Kansas City and fans were so happy to see him go. What they got in return from him was less valuable than what he was. But, you're right, we couldn't use a guy hitting over .285 against righties.
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 11:12 PM) Lemme ask you a question. Why do you like him? And with our current lineup and set of contributors you want to immediately pencil him into the lineup? I think that is a VERY BAD idea. WHen he comes back if we are in the race, he should pinch hit and/or play once a week. I like him because from all indications he's simply a good guy. I also never said that he should be put right back into the lineup. We have to see how Dayan does with a lot more playing time. He's still probably a better option than Gordon at second base at this point, unless you think Lillibridge is the answer. I just find the amount of hate that he gets right now ridiculous, when you can point to our pitchers and other guys with the bats that were far larger contributors to why we sucked than Mark.
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 11:04 PM) I just don't like Teahen. I saw what he brought to the table for years in KC and said immediately it was a bad idea to bring him in. Viciedo right now is the opposite of buzzkill. Teahen fielded terribly and is a mediocre to bad hitter who strikes out all the time. Aside from that, he's fine. Aside from the fact his strikeout numbers aren't that high, and that he was one of our more productive hitters in OPS at the time he got hurt. That's OK, there's absolutely no chance he would have improved from a rough start to this year. No one else on this team did.
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 11:01 PM) No way in hell will he be the one sent down if he keeps showing this kind of promise. f*** Teahen. It'll be Lilly or cutting Jones or somebody. If Viciedo keeps this up we NEED his youth on the team and his pop. Teahen is buzzkill. It's amazing how you hate on Teahen when he was far from what was plaguing us early this year.
  19. I think we're still going to be looking at LaRoche.
  20. That is ridiculous.
  21. ummm....apparently a Detroit radio station reporting it. http://twitter.com/johnfayman
  22. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 09:03 PM) How's it a save? Were the bases loaded or something? I missed that inning. Came in with tying run on deck.
  23. TCQ is still a horrible, horrible interview.
