Figured it would be fun for the board to share their White Sox memorabilia collections with other members. So here’s a thread to talk the collecting side of baseball. Some of my best memories as a kid center around when the Sox would come to Anaheim to play the Halos. My Dad would take off from work and make sure we saw every series. We’d hang out before and after each game to get players autographs when they were entering / leaving the stadium. Most of that stuff is in storage so I can’t post any pictures. Instead, I recently decided to start collecting Sox hats. Here’s the result of my first buy. 😆 In the corner are two of my favorite items we got signed when I was a kid… a Rawlings Big Stick professional model bat and a fitted hat both signed by Frank Thomas. At the time, I didn’t even reach his waist line. 😆

I’m going to miss Derek. Haven’t taken time yet to see what the return was — just wanted to say I’ll miss the guy.

Pretty sure he included me in the Hill trade and just didn’t tell anyone, including Philly.

Problem: He only authorized for Spirit Airlines and they’re no longer operating out of LAX.

Odd that they don’t have Kay listed and still have TBA up with that good looking silhouette pimpin it.

I’ll start walking over to the park now. Google Maps says I should get there in 31 days… factoring in time for rest and sleep, I should be able to get there by the end of August or beginning of September.

Still no idea who is starting for us on the bump?

I had an internet development / marketing communications company that made near 7 figures annually. Had to step away from it for a nasty custody battle in 2015 and then had another huge bump when covid hit. Since then I’ve never been able to even come close to making a living wage again. Lately I’ve been integrating my previous skills with the latest technologies and am repositioning myself to help companies integrate AI and automations into the businesses. Slow going so far but it’s tough when you’re starting in the negative as a mid 40 something year old single father. Last time I started my former company, I had 7 days a week to grind out 12 to 15 hour days and I also had about 15k saved up to manage marketing campaigns to drive eyeballs.

Artificial Intelligence is already making life worse for us peddling humans. 😆 Considering that about 15 years ago I could get a dozen clients in a week and now I haven’t been able to get a single job for about 18 months… f*** AI. I’m not sore. Not at all.

I don’t know what you’re referencing… was it the time that I had Dane Dunning portrait toilet paper printed and I was really made when he was traded because I just felt wrong about wiping my ass with a player who was now on another team? That must be what you wanted me to tell them. 👍🏼

That’s right - we picked him up from the Yankees in 04 and he didn’t really harness his command and potential until the offseason coming into 05.

I want a starting pitcher and one or two arms for the pen if we can manage the “cost”. We’ll need at least two more reliable bullpen pieces but I’m confident one is already in our system. If the cost to upgrade the rotation is prohibitive then we’ll have to put our hope in Smith returning to form or one of the other guys who are also currently on the IL. Even if Hagen has truly turned the corner and they want to refine his command at the big league level, he just doesn’t have enough innings built up yet for us to hope on him for this season. Our rotation is the biggest question mark and tight rope act… but it’s a fantastic feeling to finally have budding confidence again in our development staff. Reminds me of how the vision started becoming clear in mid 2004 and then that subsequent offseason… just super charged with lightning.

He may be going next week in what had been Sandlins spot.

it was SO fun going to Sox v Angels games and brutally laying into Yoan during game 2. I honestly think I got to him. 😆 “We want out 70 million back” “Why don’t you make another music video YoYo?” “Feeling flashy now YoYo?” And the entire time he was at the dish it was just YOOOOOOOOO YOOOOOOOOO between digs like those above. Enthusiastic cheering “ATTA BOY YO-YO!!!” on all of his three of four strikeouts. Next day he was riding the pine. 😆 This crop of youngsters is what we were hoping for in 16. Talk about fresh air.
