  1. Thanks brother - I likely won’t know much until July but at least the ball is rolling. The medical system here in the U.S. is a joke.
  2. Yea brother man - I’ve been wanting to buy your book for well over a year and have just had next to zero disposable income forever.
  3. Would love to see some pictures!
  4. Would love seeing pictures if you could snap a couple and are willing to share.
  5. While I’m usually happy to represent the Sox as a local Los Angeles prodigal son, today I’ll be simply hoping that I’m out of the hospital and back home before game time to figure out a VPN / way to watch the game. Next week on Wednesday I’ve got a medical procedure to either confirm or rule out cancer. Going in today for preparation stuff.
  6. Awesome to hear the Minoso story!
  7. Interesting fact about Dominic Smith and Anthony Kay: Smith has only faced him once and in that at bat he hit a grand slam.
  8. The insane thing is that 10% is extremely modest. There are use cases where these models can put out production level code in minutes that would have taken weeks in decades past. I miss the days where all we had to do was buy something like “baseball.com” for $12 and sit on it for ten years to make 6 to 7 figures. 😆 Being an internet nerd as a young preteen in the early 90s was gold and I didn’t even realize it until another decade passed by. 😆😆 Now to hit a 6 or 7 figure deal you have to not only build out an app but you also have to grind away at generating a community with hundreds of thousands of followers across multiple channels. 🤦🏻‍♂️😆
  9. Yea man - it’s nuts that what used to be the most in demand and one of the highest paying skills, is now able to be replicated with basic knowledge of the English language. 😆 Another well respected internet engineer in the field calculated the value of software development based on token costs of frontier models and it works out to $10.62 an hour. At the highest point of my career, I was pulling in about $1,600 an hour on autopilot away from the keyboard. Now I can’t make half of what someone makes flipping burgers at our local In-n-Out. 😆
  10. Figured it would be fun for the board to share their White Sox memorabilia collections with other members. So here’s a thread to talk the collecting side of baseball. Some of my best memories as a kid center around when the Sox would come to Anaheim to play the Halos. My Dad would take off from work and make sure we saw every series. We’d hang out before and after each game to get players autographs when they were entering / leaving the stadium. Most of that stuff is in storage so I can’t post any pictures. Instead, I recently decided to start collecting Sox hats. Here’s the result of my first buy. 😆 In the corner are two of my favorite items we got signed when I was a kid… a Rawlings Big Stick professional model bat and a fitted hat both signed by Frank Thomas. At the time, I didn’t even reach his waist line. 😆
  11. I’m going to miss Derek. Haven’t taken time yet to see what the return was — just wanted to say I’ll miss the guy.
  12. Pretty sure he included me in the Hill trade and just didn’t tell anyone, including Philly.
  13. Problem: He only authorized for Spirit Airlines and they’re no longer operating out of LAX.
  14. hi8is replied to Timmy U's topic in FutureSox Board
    Ouch.
  15. Odd that they don’t have Kay listed and still have TBA up with that good looking silhouette pimpin it.
  16. I’ll start walking over to the park now. Google Maps says I should get there in 31 days… factoring in time for rest and sleep, I should be able to get there by the end of August or beginning of September.
  17. Still no idea who is starting for us on the bump?
  18. I had an internet development / marketing communications company that made near 7 figures annually. Had to step away from it for a nasty custody battle in 2015 and then had another huge bump when covid hit. Since then I’ve never been able to even come close to making a living wage again. Lately I’ve been integrating my previous skills with the latest technologies and am repositioning myself to help companies integrate AI and automations into the businesses. Slow going so far but it’s tough when you’re starting in the negative as a mid 40 something year old single father. Last time I started my former company, I had 7 days a week to grind out 12 to 15 hour days and I also had about 15k saved up to manage marketing campaigns to drive eyeballs.
  19. Artificial Intelligence is already making life worse for us peddling humans. 😆 Considering that about 15 years ago I could get a dozen clients in a week and now I haven’t been able to get a single job for about 18 months… f*** AI. I’m not sore. Not at all.
  20. Cool - that’s my team 😆
  21. I don’t know what you’re referencing… was it the time that I had Dane Dunning portrait toilet paper printed and I was really made when he was traded because I just felt wrong about wiping my ass with a player who was now on another team? That must be what you wanted me to tell them. 👍🏼
  22. Just because the leg kick?
  23. More people have hopped onto the Lackey train on the board over the past couple weeks. I’m still torn.
  24. That’s right - we picked him up from the Yankees in 04 and he didn’t really harness his command and potential until the offseason coming into 05.
  25. Six Sox hats came in the mail for me today. These guys are special. LET’S GO BOYS!!!
