It’s really really short sighted to make a long term statement like that on the basis of a players first season… especially when that player was playing well before going down to an injury.

LaRussa is considering bringing up Yermin from the taxi squad so he can pitch 8 innings.

We last faced Garcia in June and he gave up 1 run in 7IP. Let’s do better, please. I would love seeing a break out game on both sides of the ball. 8 to 2 or something.

Did you watch the game? He made so many questionable moves that at the time they were made where complete head scratchers… all of which lead to players performing poorly and us losing. As a manager your job is to put your players in the best position to succeed. This game, he did the exact opposite. He puts Tephera or Kopech in the 5th and it’s like still 4 - 2. He doesn’t pinch hit Cesar, Engle catches the ball and gets the third out and it’s likely still 4 - 2. He puts Kimbrel in the 8th with a short hook for Hendricks and we likely win the game.

It had nothing to do with TLR, Crochet, Kimbrel, Garcia, or Gio… it all happened because we didn’t include our dogs.

The only benefit in my mind is that this years crop of infielders from FA is massive. Get one of them and I’ll move on a bit more easily. Just sucks we couldn’t have had an affordable solution in house still and focus on spending for the rotation.

Weighing rookie ball Madrigal against the player he was becoming is also extremely short sighted. We’re going to regret this more as time goes on.
