  1. QUOTE (Elgin Slim @ Mar 12, 2017 -> 07:44 PM) Yes. Moncada should not start at AAA, I'd start him at AA if I was Hahn. He should also not see any Major League time until September at the earliest unless he proves otherwise. By proving otherwise, he'd have to absolutely destroy AA and AAA( like .350/.425/.975 or better) to get called up before September. Moncada could still be a star, but he's clearly nowhere close to ready. He needs to spend the entire season in the minors, IMO. Yep. No reason to even put him in AAA at this point. Edit: Well, here's the only reason I could see an assignment to AAA - if they felt he couldn't find big leauge breaking stuff in AA AND if they believed that he could overcome his issues against such competition. That said, put him in AA.
  2. Dudes looked lost at the plate this spring.
  3. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Mar 12, 2017 -> 06:06 PM) All three have been/will be interviewed for it, but it's not something on their radar. Trying to get MLB Network to take it. Good on ya man!
  4. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Mar 2, 2017 -> 11:48 AM) Kickstarter isn't done yet, so feel free to donate. Too bad someone can't get this in front of Alexi, Abreu, or Moncada. They'd gladly drop some coin. Hope it goes off well and ends up getting bought by some network.
  5. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Mar 12, 2017 -> 03:49 PM) Did you finger it out Of course... the way it ended up sounds funny thou when you speak it out phonetically Edit: I finger you understand as well...
  6. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Mar 12, 2017 -> 12:08 PM) Wut Remember this offseason there was some hack who claimed to have insider info that Obama was buying the team?
  7. QUOTE (Tony @ Mar 12, 2017 -> 12:09 PM) It sounds and looks VERY different than what we are used to. I'm looking forward to seeing what the Soxtalk member who is in attendance has to say Gotta love Soxtalk
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Mar 11, 2017 -> 08:11 PM) Disgraceful that the Sox didn't offer a similar deal earlier since we need a DH badly. Found more value in giving at bats to young guys
  9. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Mar 11, 2017 -> 07:23 PM) I think the Rays come in 2nd and make the wild card f***ing Rays - they never cease to amaze.
  10. A pudding filled option could also be made... "Poopsicle, The Runs".
  11. I wonder if one could manufacture a chocolate popsicle shaped in an organic way and brand it "poopsicle".... I bet it would become a viral success making millions. Who's down?
  12. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Mar 11, 2017 -> 06:49 PM) Nats put derek norris on waivers, who lost starting spot when washington signed matt wieters. Jon Heyman tweeted.. Sox interested?? Ouch. So much for being able to trade him I guess.
  13. If your team has a relief pitcher named "Bummer" - I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
  14. Covey has hung at least three pitches. If he could get that under wraps I could see him being an effective starter.
  15. Yolmer. Even the rangers announcers don't call him Yolmer..
  16. Salidino caught stealing while Rymer strikes out looking on a close pitch. Ugly.
  17. Slow draw death. Delete please.
  18. Or are they called The Bucking Broncos? Brokeback Mountains? Cattle Ranchers? Longhorns? I give up.
  19. QUOTE (rockren @ Mar 11, 2017 -> 07:43 AM) Maybe we just caught him on bad days the past few seasons- I have heard good things too. We'll see Sunday...when we're in Camelback to watch Kopech! Nice! We'll be looking forward to your notes on him. :
  20. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Mar 11, 2017 -> 06:44 AM) This one is good for a chuckle. http://www.nj.com/yankees/index.ssf/2017/0...te_sox_for.html To summarize: "Who the Yankees should trade for Q: No one good. Who the Yankees should trade for Q: Some who are OK."
  21. QUOTE (rockren @ Mar 10, 2017 -> 10:16 PM) Abreu (just like last spring) was rude and blew everyone off. Wow! I'm beyond shocked to read this. I had always pegged him like Frank... willing to sign for hours.
  22. QUOTE (rockren @ Mar 10, 2017 -> 10:06 PM) My son was a bat boy for the Brewers today. He said everyone in the dugout called Lopez nasty- he blew Braun away on three pitches during Braun's 1st AB I believe. My son said Braun said to him as he was in the hole awaiting his 2nd AB, something along the lines of, "the way he's throwing I'm just going to have to hope he misses off-speed and find a way to get on base." Braun walked after a great AB. Lopez was absolutely dominant today. Good posts here and in the other thread. Thanks for sharing and congrats to your family on the memorable experiences!
  23. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 10, 2017 -> 06:28 PM) Puke. Bud is so so bad. Looks like I have to walk further to get a beer. Hopefully they still have coors in the corner. I don't understand how anyone likes any mass scale commercial American beer. It all tasted like piss to me when I drank. Craft beers, German beers, Belgian beers, Japanese beers, Spanish beers, hell - even Mexican beers all trump piss like Bud or Coors or Miller. Back in my hay day thou, the bees knees was a pack of smokes and a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue. Edit: Don't get me wrong, when I was drinking and all that was available was ( anything ) I'd drink it... even if it was a bunch of flat day old warm bud light in dozens of half drank red plastic party cups.
  24. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Mar 10, 2017 -> 07:43 PM) Because they have no need for a closer for 2/3 more years and the shelf life of closers is notoriously short. I'm sure they won't trade him, but I think they should consider it He can be a valuable member of the pen until 2022. If a deal akin to the Cueto / Hamelton deal came along, then sure. That said, he's one of the least likely players we trade.
