  1. "If you want to know the truth, the news kind of numbed me,'' Manuel said. "Jimmy is like my son. I've been around him his whole career, and I've been a part of all the places that he's been. I hate to see him leave, but I know he's going to bounce back and have a h*ll of a big year in Chicago.''
  2. whats the deal with credes health... i know its something about herniated discs... but i didnt know it was that serious... can someone enlighten me?

  4. rowand was a class act from day one.... and he was a class act on the way out: "B.A. is a good player. He's going to be fine," said Rowand of Anderson. "He can hit. He plays defense. He plays the game the right way. Chicago fans and the White Sox are going to be happy to have him."

  6. QUOTE(BDavisFutureHOF @ Nov 24, 2005 -> 01:54 AM) Its not really the loss of AROW that irks me -- its the loss of, arguably, 2 of our most talented minor league pitching prospects. That being said, I don't really think that Anderson can, or will, live up to AROW's production -- offensivly or defensively. Mind you -- I'm not a huge officianado of our minor league syster. if your not a big afficanado of our farm system how to you get irked about losing 2 prospects? dude, take a drink and chill man.... your questioning the best GM from the best team in baseball.... gah
  7. accually bmac is the future stud of our rotation =P

Am I missing something here? no, i care... lots of us here care.... its being duscussed at length in other threads gotta give up stuff to get stuff we have our pitching situation locked up and have a great chance to win it all again.

  12. QUOTE(Felix @ Nov 24, 2005 -> 12:31 AM) No, I don't think Anderson is ready for the majors next year, but it appears he will be starting anyway. you take your once a month pill this morning?
  13. QUOTE(WinninUgly @ Nov 24, 2005 -> 12:31 AM) I think Thome is completely washed up. He is obviously not the same player he was 5 years ago, but he will be a huge upgrade at DH for the Sox. He will also have the ability to play first as needed. umm look at his numbers from his rookie year all the way up to 2004 really consistant and 2005 is the only down year.... we all know why and we all know why that wont happen again.
  14. who is this jim thome fello you all speak of???
  15. they did get a pretty good package for including that 22 mil thou
  16. i can say that spring training games on comcast are looking really appitising right now =D
  17. great defence, better then arow has the potiental to hit 300 with 25 - 30 hrs currently has a problem swinging over lower breaking balls in the dirt id say he needs 1 more year as a reserve.
  18. jason, whats your take on this trade and the doors it opens?
  19. QUOTE(forrestg @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 11:30 PM) maybe this year he'll make it 500 hopefully he really loves the cell and hits 55... but i can imagine anyone hitting 70 hrs roid free,
  20. jim thome.... for me not to poop on!
  21. gonzales has a plus arm with tons of potential... i like haigwood better myself... i project him to be a 15 game winner in the majors in 2008
  22. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Nov 22, 2005 -> 07:01 AM) So you are ok if he has an OBP of .300 or lower, a .240-.250 BA and 20 homers. This is what we should expect, because this is his track record. Would it be nice if it all clicked and he hit .280 and had good bat control. But this is not the player that he is. uhhh id have to say your dead wrong there buddy.... i dont have any statics to back my statement up... but i mean, come on... there are players in the history of the major leauges who have stuggled offensively for periods of time durring their first couple of years... then they find what they had been lacking and go on to consistantly produce at their previously projected level... im just to lazy to look up examples... if you sit back and think about it for a while, youll find a couple.... maybe konerko for example.... when with the dodgers he didnt produce... when with the reds he didnt produce... when he first came to the sox, he didnt produce... he had one really bad year with the sox... now we're thinking of spending 65 million for him over 5 years.... makes one think and thats just one s***ty example to illustrate my point.
  23. bill mueller..... FOR ME TO POOP ON!!!!!!!!!!!! in all seriousness... im joking people... no need to fling durogatory slanders my way.
