Greg.. I think that is the point he is missing.. We play against better teams that what are tops in the NLC. There is no way I can see KW putting a team on the field that can come close to competing with the Top Dogs, by Buying players. It has to be through a minor leagues.. which we don't have. Its time to quit buying a team.. Just ask the Cubs/Yankees how well buying titles is.

So because the Cards got hot in the playoffs you think we can win it all because of that? This team has allot of holes to fill and no minors to do it. A huge payroll as well, the fans will not come out to watch a 4th place 100mil team for much longer. We are in for serveral lossing seasons, if KW does it the right way.. the way KC, CLE, Minny, DET have done it. But, I have little faith he will. I think he is going to patch-work this together and fail at doing it.

Bullpen, OF, Ss, 2b.. otherwise we are set... Personally I don't see us coming close to winning anything till 2009 time.. and that is if KW throws in the towel now.

Well lets not get into how JS is one of the best GM in baseball and how I wish we had something similar to that. As for PK.. Make him the DH in another year, he brings leadership to this team, something lacking. I agree that he and Mark are the clubhouse leaders and that is something that you can't "buy".

29th.. ONly one player in 3 years has been worth a damn, maybe 2 if you count Ring.. That is sad, that we wasted 3 years of drafting for nothing. Hell I think we would have been better off, if they would have done a NBA lottery for us to pick players. I know that the draft is a crap shoot, but still you would think you could have gotten something better than that.
