  1. Our pitchers have no margin for error with the offense we have. What a shame. 17 of the 25 games we have played have been quality starts.
  2. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 12:59 PM) btw, the pitch CQ homered off of = curveball, not a fastball. CQ making adjustments, nobody else is. How long before Walker gets to this kid and f***s him up??
  3. Lift and Pull Lift and Pull Lift and Pull Lift and Pull I am so tired of this s***. Pathetic.
  4. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 08:45 PM) We all are. However, there are ways to "shake the team up" without actually making it worse. I just can't stand the Jerry Owens argument for the lead off spot. Whats funny about all of this is the reason most are saying Swisher isn't a real lead off hitter is because Thome and Kong haven't been themselves at the plate this season. If they were driving our 1-2 in, Swisher wouldn't be an issue to people(he shouldn't be to begin with). The number one goal for a leadoff hitter is to get on base. There is no getting around it. Swisher does that better than anyone else the Sox could put in the leadoff spot. Case closed. I'm a big believer in having a prototypical leadoff hitter to win in baseball. You have to be able to manufacture runs, and this team is incapable to that.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 08:39 PM) Think about it this way....we've only had 2 or 3 offensive players hot at the same time this whole season. If our starting pitching struggled out of the gates, we could be 5 games below .500. I'll gladly take where our record is at, and hope the offense turns it around. We said this all year last year. I don't know about you, but I am sick of waiting for this f***ing offense to show up and hit.
  6. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 08:37 PM) This could be partially true. Making the team worse isn't the way to do it. If the organization was as confident as you say they are in Owens, he would be up here with the club. I'm just frustrated with this offense. I think it needs a big shakeup.
  7. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 08:33 PM) Having a s***ty leadoff hitter does not solve any problems Ozzie Guillen said all he wants is his leadoff man to get on base. That changed this year. The last 3 years he wanted a guy who could steal bases. Ozzieball> Remember??
  8. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 08:31 PM) How do you know that? He could be a sweet track star that never gets on base. Well the plan was to have him as the leadoff guy before he got hurt, so evidently the Org. thinks he can do the job. I'm just thinking there needs to be a shakeup. This team needs a spark plug at the top of the order, someone who has speed. This team has zero speed.
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 08:29 PM) Because of this game? You obviously havent been watching all season. They are barely out of this and their guy had to pitch out of his mind with a huge strike zone. Hawk is that you??
  10. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 08:27 PM) Jerry Owens never has. Jerry Owens would solve a problem this team has, which is we have no leadoff hitter. Swisher is not a leadoff hitter, and it is showing by how he has been struggling at the plate. he is trying to do to much. I don't care what anyone says, you need a leadoff guy with speed who can beat out infield hits, and put pressure on the other team with his threat of stealing a base. Thome looks like nothing but a part time player to me anymore. His swing is slow, and he looks to do one thing and one thing only and that's to launch.
  11. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 08:23 PM) Any way you slice it, you are replacing Thome with Jerry Owens. Um, no. Yeah since Thome is just tearing it up.
  12. QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 08:20 PM) Haven't you heard, though? It's all about high OBP. Balance. We need balance. I like the OBP, but OBP doesn't mean s*** if you don't have guys who can get hits to drive you in. We have zero team speed None. I would love to put Owens in center with Swisher in right and have JD as DH. Thome looks lost at the plate.
  13. I will be so happy once JD is a DH and not in the field. Everytime a ball is hit to right it scares me. He is slow and gets bad reads on balls.
  14. I was having a nice enjoyable evening, then I come home and turn this s*** on.
  15. QUOTE (Soxpranos @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 08:05 PM) He is average, but our offense is below average (now) had to throw in the now before I get all sort of OPS stats thrown at me. Our offense has been below average for the last 3 years. Except the 1st half of 2006.
  16. It's corpseball. Solo home runs but can't manufacture a run to save our lives. This offense is so flawed it's pathetic.
  17. Instead of our announcers calling out how pathetic our offense is and their approach, they insist on sucking the other pitchers dick!! I am sick of it. This guy isn't a f***ing Cy Young candidate. He is an average MLB pitcher. They need to call these players out.
  18. This teams offense is an embarassment. The same s*** as last year and the year before. Pathetic. How long until they make some kind of change. They went all last year and didn't change s***. Is it gonna take another s***ty year for them to make a change at hitting coach.
  19. Just got home. I see another stellar offensive night by the WhiteSox. How Greg Walker has a job is baffling to me. This team's offense is pitiful, and the sad thing is our starting pitching has been solid, but these guys have to go out and pitch a shutout every f***ing night. Something has to be done to wake this team up.
  20. Quentin is quickly becoming my favortie player. Great trade by KW.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 27, 2008 -> 12:27 PM) Maybe it's due to being in his free agent walk year, but I've never seen him try to pull everything like he is now. It has to be the reason why he grounds out weakly to the left side so often. He is fitting right in with our Lift and Pull approach. Maybe Walker had a talk with him before the season.
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 27, 2008 -> 12:14 PM) Wind must be howling out to left field. I'm ready for the Cabrera era to end already. I'm with you fathom. I am very disappointed in Cabrera. Terrible trade by KW in my opinion.
