  1. Uribe will be so overmatched this at bat it ain't gonna be funny
  2. QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ Apr 22, 2008 -> 08:51 PM) You mean Carlos? I know Carlos is up, but Joe is gonna get the big hit.
  3. Count should have never started that inning. Stoney and Farmer were saying The Count got by tonight with just a fastball and occasional good slider. No forkball at all.
  4. If Ozzie was gonna bring in Dotel, he should have just let him start the inning. I don't think I would have kept Jose in there for the seventh. i was questioning why he didn't bring in Dotel in the 7th.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 17, 2008 -> 07:35 PM) Ozzie's philosophy seems to be that Linebrink is the 8th inning guy. If he can't get it to Jenks, then we don't deserve it. As long as he keeps the lead for the Sox, I don't see Ozzie changing this. That's how it should be
  6. I wouldn't mind dropping him down until he starts to heat up
  7. Why the f*** is Macdougal in the game. Now ozzie comes in to get him. Unf***inreal
  8. Thome has no clue at the plate right now. He will not see another fastball until he proves he can lay off the slow in the dirt s***. He is pathetic right now. I would have rather them pinch hit Anderson that AB
  9. We're gonna comeback against Todd Jones in the bottom of the 9th. I am calling it!!!!
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 11, 2008 -> 08:54 PM) Great sig Thanks brother.
  11. It's only one game. We are still 5-4. If someone would have told me we would be 5-4 before the season started after looking at our schedule I would take it in a heartbeat.
  12. Texas gives up one of their top pitching prospects in Edison Volquez and another minor league pitcher. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?...2007&fext=.jsp
  13. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Dec 11, 2007 -> 10:38 PM) Because they are set in the OF, and are probably saving some room on the payroll for Santana. It doesn't matter to those teams if they are set in the outfield or not. If the guy was thought of as a can't miss type of guy who was gonna come here and be a stud, both the Red Sox and the Yankees would have made a play for him. Money is no object to them.
  14. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Dec 11, 2007 -> 10:33 PM) The cubs will regret that contract in 1-2 years. Mark my words. They'll regret it next year. If this was an elite Japanese player, the yankees or the red sox would have been all over this guy. They were never metioned to even have the slightest interst in him.
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ Dec 11, 2007 -> 10:27 PM) The roster, as it's currently constructed, would likely get 5th place in the AL Central. Even Ozzie knows we need help. I agree. we need a CF, and I think signing Rowand would help us big time. I am not sure why everyone seems to hate the idea of signing Rowand. If he can be signed for 4-5/60-70, then I would sign him. He would improve our team, and solidify that position. I would rather have Rownad than Fukodome anyday.
  16. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Dec 11, 2007 -> 10:21 PM) I would like them to rebuild. Trade Konerko, Dye, Buerhle, Contreras, Vazquez, Cabrera. Play for 3 years from now. It worked for Larry Himes in 1987. This was a horrible team last year. I can live with Owens in CF if they are rebuilding. If they are trying to win, they are kidding themselves if he's there everyday. Wow. So you are giving up on the season before one pitch is even thrown? Wow. Let the first few months play out and see what happens. Why give up in the offseason, especially after the year most of our players just had. Their value isn't exactly high right now. Let's see how the first couple months play out, and see what happens.
