Ugh, if any of you are in the 1,000,000 Bears Fans group on Facebook there is this really stupid chick in there that is always rambling about something asinine. She is particularly bad right now. It's really hard to respond to anything she says without verbally insulting her because everything she says that isn't a skin-deep fanboy comment is way off the mark.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Oct 19, 2009 -> 12:34 AM) Pace literally fell over on 4th and -1, on a play that very easily would have been converted. That'a CRITICAL error. I will say that he played well the rest of the game, but you can't write off the enormity of his mistake. You can't write it off but you can ridiculously exaggerate it like you just did. Pace was about the only OL that wasn't terrible, Williams was serviceable out there but got beat a couple of times.

My facebook status says "Someone should buy the Bears 53 dildos because they are getting really good at f***ing themselves"

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 18, 2009 -> 11:47 PM) He also completed like 80% of his 3rd down passes in today's game. And that was despite getting blitzed like crazy. I know he didn't convert as high of a percentage but the guy has been money when the pressure is on. Also with no running game to speak of, that was all his arm and the WRs making clutch grabs. I would like to retract anything bad I said about the WR corps coming into this season.

QUOTE (rangercal @ Oct 18, 2009 -> 11:39 PM) Cutler can play for my team any day. Peyton Manning would not have gotten out of that mess. I hate the loss, but I am f***ing happy that we have a qb with balls in crunch time. Bad ending, but that was fun to watch that 80 + yard drive. ??? I'd have to check but I think Peyton Manning has more 4th quarter comebacks than any QB in NFL history. However, Cutler has been money in every 4th quarter so far for us, to include Week 1 where the game ended in a INT because prior to Payne and Vasher blowing coverage as usual, he had given us the lead.

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Oct 18, 2009 -> 11:37 PM) I'm agreeing. I just said that. But even when he has space, like on screens, he's dancing. On his fumble in the redzone, sure it was his fault, but why call a sweep play on 4th and 9 inches? The dancing is about timing, Benson was doing it in '07 when he never had before. This run blocking is probably even worse. Oh btw not to absolve Forte of guilt for fumbling, but yeah that was a brutal call for that sweep on 3rd and goal from the 1 after he just fumbled the first time. And I'm pretty sure I saw Omiyale let his guy through right to Forte, again. Get Omiyale the f*** out of there.

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Oct 18, 2009 -> 11:31 PM) Wow. Our 3rd round and 4th round picks better be OL next year, because this is ridiculous. Also, what has happened to Forte? Even when he gets space, he's running like a complete b****. Not Cutler's best game, but again, he had a helluva 2nd half. Next Sunday is a must win @ Cincy now. It's hard to get a rhythm when the line is already penetrated by the time he gets the ball from Cutler. Unless you'd rather he run faster into the arms of DLs. There is nothing he can do with this pathetic run blocking he's getting.

That was the only critical mistake I saw Pace make that night, and it really wasn't even that bad, you're on the road in a dome and he probably couldn't hear. I saw Pace throw pancakes like 5 times tonight. If you want to look at a single lineman to blame look at Omiyale, check out the Forte fumble when he let his guy right through and got Forte destroyed. Or towards the end where he blew a play and followed it up by a false start penalty. Omiyale is absolutely brutal, quite possibly the worst player in the NFL. I'm not exaggerating.

I just waved at a 6 year old that flew over my house as I was standing on my deck.

Already did that. They buffer much faster when I'm already using the network

I got Verizon FIOS installed today after I finally got them to get their s*** together with the install date. This stuff is crazy fast... I had cable internet before and I figured it was pretty fast, but when I would have my upload speed set to "unlimited" for torrents, it would get to about 250 kb/s and start choking my network so I had to throttle it down some. I got the FIOS installed and I noticed it was doing everything pretty much effortlessly at the speeds I had set, so I bumped it up a few notches, a few more notches, then I just set it to unlimited and it went up to like 2800 mb/s... that's faster than I used to be able to download on my old connection. I haven't even tried the download speed yet.

QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Oct 17, 2009 -> 12:10 PM) Yeah, but we're not talking about a potential World Series-winning addition here. This isn't Manny Ramirez, it's career underachiever and health risk Milton Bradley. PS I'm not saying we should sign Manny either. There are many worse moves the Sox could make.

QUOTE (mr_genius @ Oct 17, 2009 -> 08:06 PM) you, sir, are a drug addict. luckily for you that's covered in the Obama plan. I actually forgot I was black so I don't do meth. Are coke addicts covered? I make enough money to not have to do crack.

QUOTE (kapkomet @ Oct 17, 2009 -> 05:12 PM) It is a big deal, but they can go get someone else. There's the subtle difference. Still doesn't mean this guy shouldn't be punched in the face on GP.

QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Oct 17, 2009 -> 01:03 PM) I really don't get this trade for the Bears, adds depth but they really didn't need it. They don't really need a defensive linemen imo. They have Ogunleye, Anderson, Brown already. Gaines has underachieved in Tampa and has continuous ankle problems I've heard. Seems to me the Bears are mortgaging their future getting rid of most of their top draft picks in these upcoming drafts. This draft is especially stocked with defensive linemen that I just don't see how this makes sense. Ogunleye is in the last year of his deal and just about out of his prime (he's 32). Not that I necessarily agree with the trade but that's probably something they had in mind. Angelo loves his DEs, and Dan Bauzin was a total bust.

bahahah still trolling CU Duke. Awesome. There are a couple of people in there coming up just short of defending it. Even better.

Something to consider on the potential trade front.

QUOTE (KipWellsFan @ Oct 16, 2009 -> 11:52 PM) How many people have died as a result of Obama's domestic policies? I understand the point you're making but the comparison is pretty weak.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 16, 2009 -> 02:58 PM) Actually that wasn't the point at all if you look at it in context. The context was that Americans don't support American labor. Americans support "cheap," bottom line. I'm thinking your point was that American expectations of compensation, benefits, labor standards etc. aren't compatible with this.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 16, 2009 -> 02:45 PM) Let me know if you'd recommend Greenwald's. I was contemplating whether to pick it up. Will do. If I like this one then I'll check out Tragic Legacy as well.

QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Oct 16, 2009 -> 02:11 PM) NO s***, YOU THINK. But you can't tell me the NFL doesn't look at that when selecting because there is no doubt in my mind they do. Orton's line is still better than Jay. It's my pet peeve. I don't care what Orton's line is relative to Cutler's if Cutler is doing what he was expected to do when he was acquired. I really don't. edit: I thought you meant "stats" and not OL when you said "line"

This chick forwarded me a screenshot of an amusing spam message in her folder yesterday, and she's sent me like 8 since then. WTF. Really, it isn't funny.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 16, 2009 -> 12:29 PM) I've done the latter to a couple of people that annoy the s*** out of me. A couple of times, some paranoid and dumb friends of mine would forward "did you know the government can take the rights of blacks to vote away?" because the law expired in 2007 which appeared in various forms before Bush renewed the Voting Rights Act. I usually never reply to all but I had to explain the bare basics of government, couldn't let that one slide. All thinks that everyone should know after 8th grade (i.e. blacks' right to vote is in the 15th Amendment... duh... not in some obscure, sinister law).

I just bought Greenwald's "Great American Hypocrites" and "Idiot America: How Stupidity Became a Virtue in the Land of the Free" by Charles Pierce. Greenwald plugged his buck on his blog that I read all the time and I succumbed. Effective.
