I'm not trying to berate you I'm just trying to not have to read the same thing over... and over... and over... I get it, you hate Swisher, you hate Dotel, you hate Rios but you say you're giving him a clean slate next spring, you think any criticism of Pods and Dye is off-limits, you think people should get off Wise's case, and you also attach far more significance to his catch than you probably should. I'm pretty sure I probably covered about 85% of it.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 10, 2009 -> 09:53 PM) Why? Is your opinion that much better than mine and anybody else who dares stand up for Wise? Just asking what you meant by that. I'll never back off on my feeling Wise is a very good option at last man on a roster. If you are saying your opinion is the only one that matters then you are mistaken. Good lord you took that one and ran with it didn't you. I'm saying that your upper body must be buff from beating all those dead horses and tearing down strawmen.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 10, 2009 -> 09:31 PM) It was a week ago that Obama couldn't do anything to repair our image internationally when we lost the Olympics, now it has turned around soooo much. lol. I wish the media would pick a theme and stick to it. Meh the first one was a manufactured non-story from the right, as are any other trivial stories that have a remote chance of making Obama look bad. If the rest of the media picked up on that it's just because they're lazy.

Kind of no better place to ask this really, but has anyone here watched the show Las Vegas? Would you vouch for it?

QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 10, 2009 -> 02:30 PM) Gavin Floyd -- If Bert Blyleven wasn’t a Twinkie guy, he’d be the perfect tutor for your curveball. Whatever, if you ever figure out consistent control, you’d be a no-hit threat once you take the mound instead once a month. . . . something about this sentence is off. It's too stream of consciousness and so I don't know what the f*** he is talking about. Instead once a month what, instead OF once a month? I hate writers like this. Probably should say "you'd be a no-hit threat every time you take the mound instead of once a month," which would make it a true statement.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 9, 2009 -> 11:21 PM) Hah...I doubt that is how they approached the deal with Podsednik's agent... "Well, we don't mind him being on the team at all. But nothing more than $3 or 4 million..." They should do this just for lolz. -

White Sox talk new deal with Scott Podsednik's agent

Depends on the dollar amount, anything more than about 3 or 4 million on a short-term deal and I won't like it. I don't mind him being on the team at all though. -
QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 9, 2009 -> 10:15 PM) This No. 25 man has contributed us to winning games. What part of that statement don't you believe? I've cited some games he's helped us win this year and last. You think his defense and speed can't help a team in the latter innings? Or as a spot starter? Give me a thorough analysis of all No. 25 players; I believe Wise will not be the worst by a long shot. I just don't agree he is a worthless major leaguer. He is not worthless. He's not a starter; he's a damn good sub. I pray he doesn't come back cause I'm sick of people blasting him when all he does is his job. I hope he's gone as well.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 9, 2009 -> 12:52 PM) I knew you were a terrorist. lol I'm surprised someone knows what that actually meant. Although I said "Praise be to God" and not "God is Great"

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 9, 2009 -> 01:01 PM) Has anyone ever won a pair of them? Polishing off the Israeli-Palestinian mess or something like that in the next few years would certainly give him a shot at another. Get rid of Netanyahu and that's a realistic possibility.

Al hamdullilah.

Frankly it doesn't matter in the slightest how we define it.

What happened in Iraq is that they had a civil war. The Sunnis lost. Now Iran is the foreign power with the most influence there. Way to go, of course this doesn't really get acknowledged in US media.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Oct 9, 2009 -> 11:47 AM) While we're on the topic of dumb facebook comments. He's a friend of mine's response to someone else claiming they can't believe he won and asking what he has done. (and no there is no sarcasm in the below comment, unfortunately) "umm wow seriously guys? come on. obama is the reason citizens in africa (even though still very 3rd world to the US) have Free universal Health care." lol the internet validates my lack of faith in humanity. Stalin had the right idea. Some people just have to go.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Oct 9, 2009 -> 11:44 AM) You can't turn that award down as POTUS. It would be a huge slap in the face to the organization and the rest of the world. He shouldn't even have to anyways. He didn't deserve the award, but he was given it anyways by other people. It's not a bad thing to receive a Nobel Prize and i'm sure he's honored as a person and as an American to receive it. It does reflect well on our country to have our president win such an award, regardless of whether he should have or not. I agree. It doesn't matter whether we think he deserved it or not. He has to take it.
-
QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 9, 2009 -> 11:32 AM) For the record, I'd be in favor for any president from here on out to use their platform to help fellow american cities AND individuals in international competitions. Agreed.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Oct 9, 2009 -> 11:08 AM) Please, explain to me how pointing out Obama's previous jobs has anything to do with the Birther movement. Also, please point to how his accomplishments prior to being president as deserving of winning the award. I'm not going to because I didn't bring it up and I frankly don't care.
-
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Oct 9, 2009 -> 11:05 AM) Why? I thought we were talking about what he did prior to being president? So, we can't now? Really? Damn, that just leaves the two weeks in office that he had. I like to think that the Filibuster here is above inane, retarded Freerepublic talking points for the most part.
-
When did the Democratic Party get balls? The last week has been bizarre. Usually what happens is the Republicans say something like that and the Democrats cry.
-
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Oct 9, 2009 -> 11:02 AM) You mean when he was ACORN's lawyer, or that time he worked on that panel with Bill Ayers? oh my god not this s*** again. Hey why don't you bring up his birth certificate too for the hat trick.
-
QUOTE (Reddy @ Oct 9, 2009 -> 10:44 AM) as a Dem, I'm thoroughly confused and slightly annoyed. I hate this kind of blind faith, and I thought we'd gotten past all the Obamania. But I guess we haven't quite... shame. Essentially with all this godliness we're heaping on Obama, it's going to be impossible for him to "succeed". How bout he's just a man. A very powerful man, but a man nonetheless. Not to mention one with a pitiful congress backing him up. But that's for another time. "We?"
-
Well in the spirit of posting asinine Facebook comments from friends, here's mine: "Seriously, the Nobel Peace Prize. Yeah, that wasn't staged to help his ratings." Haha like the US president has EVER had ANY sort of influence over their decisions. If that was true then every one would have one.
-
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 9, 2009 -> 10:31 AM) But a lot of the left probably would have been. They certainly were when he was nominated. Yeah I think it's legitimate to criticize that considering he more or less single-handedly started a disastrous war.

Bush's faith didn't have jack diddly s*** to do with his image.
