Twins not too happy with sox adding AJ
Next year I hope we can field a much more balanced team. A team shouldn't HAVE to rely on two guys to produce in order to succeed. The way it looks right now, we are gonna be playing small ball and not suffer so much losing big bats. Still, God forbid if Paulie ever went down, would we have a chance?

MVP Baseball 2005
Yeah in the windup pitchers often tip their pitches very early in the motion. The problem is when they get in the stretch there's less time. Also there's no way to tell the difference between 2 and 4-seamers or curves and sliders. On some pitchers this makes hitting difficult. I just upped it to all-star with pretty much Pared sliders but a little easier pitching for me since I suck at the meter. After losing 8-2 to the Twins, El Duque and company shutout the Twins en route to a 1-0 victory. I won on game-ending GIDP by Jacque Jones off Shingo. This game can be challenging but winning feels sooooo goood.

Wow, no respect on Baseball Tonight
Considering all the times the Twins whooped us, I'm surprised Aaron referred to the Sox as the "solid but unspectacular team" that has finished behind them the past four seasons.

White Sox vs. Rockies (3/2/2005)
Damn, can't they broadcast this today? I'm achin for some White Sox baseball.

Closers vs. Middle Relievers
I guess it's hard to notice a good middle reliever. All he does is shut the opposition down in a late inning while the SPs and closers get all the glory. I still didn't like Marte in save situations in 2004, I hope he bounces back to '02-'03 form this year.

some quotes from dye
Cool idea, MVP 2006 should have an option for custom commentary. I could take clips of Hawk (and DJ) and put them in my game for events like HRs, K's, double plays, etc.

Sorry to clarify I originally thought of the name Network Associates Coliseum as an example of a bad name. It is actually just called McAfee Coliseum now. Why did it have to be US Cellular Field? I would take Verizon Field, Cingular Field, Nextel Field, T-Mobile Field, SBC Field, and Comcast Field over the name US Cellular Field just to name a few. Plus I now think of Joan Cusack every time someone mentions it.

How Good is my Team
You probably want a backup catcher if someone decent is available. I think Lo Duca's production will be down even with Delgado in the lineup. I also don't see Izzy having the kind of year he had in '04 so you could be hurtin' for saves. I'd say your deepest areas is SP for trades and your infield looks solid.

MVP Baseball 2005
I found the sliders a bit tiring with pitching. Maybe I try to nibble too much but I only hit perfect on the meter maybe 1/3 of the time. Maybe pitcher stamina is going down too quickly but it takes some fun out of the game trying to hit such a tiny green spot on a meter with every pitch. Hitting in this game still feels like a crapshoot sometimes. Sometimes I'll see a pitch coming inside and time it and give it a pull swing and I'll line out to second base. Other times I see a pitch outside, swing later, give it a push swing and will end up pulling a homerun instead. The hitters eye makes the game much more even than last year though.

Wow, no respect on Baseball Tonight
I'm with daa84 on this one for points 1 and 2 at least. You can't have your cake and eat it too. The Sox AREN'T cursed and therefore SHOULDN'T be mentioned in any discussion of said topic. Second, do you actually like the name of our field? Would you have thought Ravech was disrespecting Oakland if he made fun of Network Associates/McAfee Coliseum or San Diego and PetCo Park? I actually think our stadium now has the worst name in baseball along with Minute Maid Park. It doesn't roll of the tongue and it sounds just so blatantly corporate.

MVP Baseball 2005
Just got MLB 2k5. I have to say there seems to be more variety with arcade and simulation modes for playing. ESPN bottom line also looks exactly like the real thing. Cell looks good in 2k5 with green seats and the fans in the game actually wear Sox jerseys! I might stop playing MVP for a while.

MVP Baseball 2005
Most my hits are either singles or homeruns. Does anyone else hit ALOT of lineouts? Some innings I will go 1-2-3 lineouts to different infielders.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Feb 25, 2005 -> 12:15 PM) Does anyone know what the dimensions are going to be in Washington since they're playing at RFK? From left to right (or right to left if you want): 335 385 410 385 335 are the dimensions of the toilet bowl.

MVP Baseball 2005
I gave Iguchi Godzilla's stance. Alot of Japanese hitters like to keep their hands low so I thought that fit. Iguchi's stance is way more open than Matsui's though. I think I probably made Iguchi too good overall, his rating was 3rd or 4th best on the team. XBox Live also has a roster update out. I love tuning gameplay. Pared made some good sliders for MVP 2004 and he's working on some again for 2005. Does anyone else love the variety of foul balls/tips in this game?

So, I just had my first significant interview.
Tips I've used in no particular order: Maintain good posture and eye contact Dress to impress, even if they say dress is casual Research the company beforehand and prepare questions Be prepared to talk about anything on your resume Sell yourself but don't lie (this is hard for me) Talk to the interviewer about his/her job if they're not just in HR Talk yourself through difficult questions aloud Show genuine enthusiasm about getting the job (also hard for me) Find out when to expect a response a call if you don't get one I have my first second-round interview ever next month. From what I've heard, the first level guys are usually the easiest on you during the process.

New Bond film announced...
Will the new 21st century Bond also be more responsible for his actions? For example, he is involved in the 12-Step Program and chews Nicorette.

MVP Baseball 2005
Is anyone else interested in ESPN 2k5 this year? They totally redesigned the game from the ground up. The soundtrack feature is pretty cool, you can set the exact songs for players and stadiums that they would use in real life. The graphics also look a bit sharper than MVP. I'm going to give it a chance and do a comparison between the two games.

Iguchi
According to CSN, Gooch hit a HR off Politte today in BP. It was his first in a Sox uniform and I'm sure it made big news in Japan. Also pretty impressive since he is probably still jetlagged.

Does anyone have Iguchi split numbers? I'm not sure how to make him vs. lefties and righties.
