AL Central Central
I think the whole Sox/Indians thing is familiarity. Our hitters and pitchers know each other very well. C.C. seems to have mastered our team, just like Santana the past couple years. The fact that our hitters haven't really made the adjustment against them is a little troubling however. With the Cubs, you're basing everything off scouting and tape. You don't have any in-game experience with them so the results are unpredictable. I don't think the Cubs have scored 9 runs all year against lefties.

Hawk could control his excitement a bit with a player injured like that.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 21, 2006 -> 03:58 PM) Great comeback by Ivory Coast. Dismal showing by SCG. They'll be glad to put this one behind them and move forward as Serbia. Just curious, do you know offhand how many of the players on the team are Montenegran?

We better pitch around Blanco at Wrigley.

The Czechs are like night and day with their first two games. The Ghana tape should show Italy exactly how to beat them, though it's not really Italy's style. I expect a lot of time spent in the midfield in a European style game where the Czech team's age and injuries will ultimately be their undoing. At least, I hope that's how things play out.

White Sox (43-25) vs Reds (37-31) 6/18/2006 12:15 PM
I kinda feel for the Reds fans. Their team likes to tease them in the spring before their pitching inevitably goes in the tank every year.

Well the first two batters have had no problem with Prior. Will the Cubs even score off Rogers? Edit: ballgame

At least Pope can't play against Ghana. He seemed horribly out of position on every possession forcing him to resort to fouling. Hard to look stupider than raising your hand for offsides when your teammates are all marking men behind you.

This is why I hate the national league.

Intentionally walk Brian for Contreras? Talk about a roll of the dice.

When the numbers were even, I'd have to say the US looked the better side. The last 20 minutes or so, they were just exhausted. I can't believe Arena didn't use his 3rd substitute at that point.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Jun 17, 2006 -> 12:50 PM) Damn, would've been nice for us if one of those two chances went in for the Czech's. Yeah, those saves by Kingston could turn out to be huge. Even if the US wins today, they will probably still be in last due to differential.

Ghana making the Czechs look very deliberate today. I don't see how the US can beat them if they play like this again.
