Is it time to Move BA up in Line-Up?
DonkeyKongerko replied to klaus kinski's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I agree, don't mess with something good. There's nothing wrong with a little speed and OBP in the 9-hole. This certainly has to give the organization some optimism at the future of the CF spot. As for left field... well lets just say left field sucks. -
For some reason, I expected statistics when I saw this thread title. We still turn double plays, when our pitchers give us the chance. We still TRY to bunt. We're still good with RISP overall though not during our current slide. As far as hitting to the opposite field, I don't know who is really better or worse at that than last year or what it really proves. Pods among others isn't hitting to any of the fields right now. 4/5 of our rotation was pitching in October last year and it's really showing. We are the 2003 Angels.

Ozzie loves his matchups and can't stand to send AJ out there vs. Kenny. It's like he has this magic pair of blinders that only lets him see his righties when a southpaw is on the hill and vice versa.

QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 08:45 PM) chisoxfn: dont know if its true... Kel Mitchell, otherwise known as Kel Kimble in the hit TV show 'Kenan & Kel' died on Sunday night at his home in LA. The reason for his death is currently unknown. Kel Mitchell was in other productions after 'Kenan & Kel' such as The Power of One: The Pokemon 2000 Movie Special Good Burger, which produced many famous quotes including the famously used "Welcome to Good Burger, home of the Good Burger! Can I take your order? " Kel Mitchell, leaves behind 2 children names Allure and Lyric, and his wife Tyisha Hampton. I think myspace news has retracted that story. -

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 08:33 PM) Hawk and DJ constantly praise the competitiveness of Vazquez, although neither of them seem to care for how he approaches hitters. I think Coop going out pissed him off too. Nothing against Don it's just part of Javy's personality. -

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 08:25 PM) Ozzie certainly has a short leash on his relievers (I agree with these moves) I wonder why he doesn't do it more often with his starters. In fact I remember Guillen talking about pulling Vazquez before the 6th or 7th if he was having the tendency to give up "The big inning" Well Dr. Guillen's prescription for Judy Garland Syndrome is to pat them on the back. -

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 08:21 PM) I'm getting tired of having to hope for late-inning heroics. We've had a habit of scoring just enough to not win in 9th innings lately. -

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 08:14 PM) Looked like a curve to me. Anyways, I was just thinking earlier that AJ has called a lot of curves for Javy with 2 strikes..probably because Javy really does love that pitch. I'm not pinning blame on AJ, just saying that if Widger is behind the plate, he gets torched the hell out of on here. Scooter said it was a slider. -

If we weren't paying Javy so much, I'd say he'd make a great bullpen pitcher with his stuff. POSS-I-BIL-I-TIES -

QUOTE(Misplaced_Sox @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 08:04 PM) Gimmie a break... he had 3 soft crappy hits against him and a huge letdown by Mack in CF.... because the guy cant play Cf on the blooper... and AJ tagging Ivan instead of going to first on the force WTF Please Javy pitched good this game... what more do you want.. We don't want more of anything. We want less hangers. -

QUOTE(iamshack @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 07:49 PM) Mack got a crap jump. And Brian plays as shallow as anyone in the league. Please, someone get off Scottie's ass and start talking about Mack's. Mack doesn't fill out the lineup card. He's also a better left fielder than Scott. -

QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Jul 11, 2006 -> 09:18 AM) I've been thinking about getting Netflix lately. What are some opinions or experiences on it? Blockbuster is a ripoff. Family Video isn't bad (2 movies, 5 nights, 1 buck), but I often find myself wandering around the store for up to an hour before I find something. My girlfriend and I are pretty picky when it comes to movies (luckily we have similar tastes), so I thought being able to browse through Netflix and choose that way would be good. Thoughts? Care to explain? Blockbuster online has had the exact same pricing for comparable plans from Netflix for months. I get 2 at a time/unlimited per month for $14.99 plus a free in-store movie/game rental every week. At my rate of watching, this has given me the equivalent of 3 at a time. If you live near a Blockbuster, there's no reason to choose Netflix over them. Before I chose my plan, I picked 10 movies in my head and checked both Netflix and BB for availability. I think the final result was that Blockbuster had 8 and Netflix 6, erasing any doubts I had about selection. Netflix was faster when they were small, but now most reports show that the two are about the same. Netflix also got alot of bad press for reportedly "throttling" the rates of frequent movie watchers though it was never confirmed. As for Firewall, I found it very atypical of the standard Harrison Ford fare due to the glaring lack of finger pointing (there used to be an awesome gallery of all his finger pointing scenes that I was gonna link here).

That rally was all Paulie. Hopefully Rivera took some tips from Jenks.
