  1. This reminds me of that game Freddy pitched in Colorado last year.
  2. Wow Argentina had more offense today than probably half the teams in the Cup so far. A big disappointment for Serbia who has more talent than we've seen. I'm really anxious about what kind of US team shows up tomorrow. If we can keep Italy off the board early, I think they'll settle in a bit and maybe show some more creativity on offense.
  3. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 13, 2006 -> 07:48 PM) Croatia are really going to make us earn 2nd spot in group F. I'll take a draw with them, and hope that they don't beat Japan by more than a 2 goal differential, so we can go through. Luckily for us, if we do make it, we'll be playing Italy or the Czech Republic in the 2nd round though. Croatia did alot for themselves with just the one goal loss to Brazil. Even if they don't beat Japan by 2, I imagine Brazil will come out vs. the Aussies on Sunday with something to prove after their narrow victory. Croatia-Australia will be a great match if a quarterfinals berth is on the line.
  4. 13 innings in Detroit? It's time for that classic Hawk quote: "That's a big league fireworks show."
  5. I'm salivating at the thought of all this material to sustain Cheap Seats.
  6. Anyone see The Omen? The acting was pretty uninspired, but it wasn't half bad as far as remakes go. I just wish Julia Stiles could have had more screen time later in the movie.
  7. It's a good stalker tool. They're headed towards Myspace though with all the high schools on there especially since Myspace isn't 'cool' anymore.
  8. Simply outclassed. I feel sorry for the kids who believed the US was really the 5th best team in the world before this game. FIFA really pulled a number on them. Don't expect much against the Azzurri either. Ghana already gave them all of the wakeup call that they probably didn't even need. That team has to be playing with a chip on their shoulder after what they've gone through the past few years. Until the US can put together a core of at least 5 or 6 guys with good soccer instincts and the ability to make good first touches, they will never match up on the international level with any of the top European clubs. Sure they can catch one off guard once in a while, especially if they're a chokejob like Portugal, but sustained success will have to start with foreign-experienced players and probably a good foreign coach as well.
  9. FRIST PLACE!!!11 (for a couple hours at least)
  10. Wow, we haven't owned Wickman like that since April of '05.
  11. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 03:51 PM) DID HE EVEN TAG HIM?! Doesn't look like it but the ball beat him by so much an ump is not gonna call it.
  12. Well s***. At least Mack finally got Wickman back.
  13. Nice of Bobby to get Mark off the hook so quickly.
  14. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 11:51 AM) Sweden should have had about 10 goals in the first half. Still no score in the 77th minute and playing a man down. No matter the outcome, this is a damn impressive showing for T&T's first World Cup match.
  15. Oh well, I wish it could have ended more humorously if it had to end.
  16. I don't really care if he gets it or not, but we haven't seen one in baseball for quite some time. I'm honestly rooting for him (which means it probably won't happen).
  17. Word on the wire is that the Royals are looking to upgrade at catcher to Garbage Can.
  18. QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 08:53 PM) R-E-C-R-E-M-E-N-T-I-T-I-O-U-S Could you use it in a sentence?
  19. QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 08:48 PM) Anyone still want to make the argument that having Brian Anderson's >.200 average is our biggest problem? Just curious. Check the poll on Soxtalk.com, 80% of us agreed with you before tonight.
