QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 28, 2011 -> 01:15 PM) Humber is scheduled to face KC tomorrow. With this, I think that means they'll push his first start back to April 9. If they were intending on him starting the 5th game in KC, I doubt they would let him face the Royals tomorrow. They would probably have him pitch a AAA game. Merkin keep on throwing the APRIL 6th date around when talking about Humber.. I realize it's not saying much, but worth noting.

Alexei scratched with 'aggravated lower back'
-
I expect a #4 starter kind of numbers from him this year, and either retirement or come back on a 2 year reasonable deal to be a #5th starter.
-
Exactly, expect to see Vizquel in there a lot too. As long as he's healthy. flavum, good job on the ST coverage/game threads. No more broadcasts for me until opening day. 4 days away fellas.

QUOTE (joeynach @ Mar 28, 2011 -> 10:30 AM) Hahaha hilarious, I bet after April and May last year he was also ready to say blow it up, fire everyone, then by July the team was in first place. After April and May, everyone and I mean absolutely everyone on this board wanted to blow this team up. FACT.

PS. It's this time of the year again, any chance for monthlly/yearly schedule wallpaper?

Don't qoute me but even looking at the MLB standings prediction thread, most guys have Sox going to playoffs, but barely anyone has them winning the title.

QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Mar 27, 2011 -> 02:35 PM) I'm going to get the mlb.tv package for sure this week. I did some research and it turns out the prices for it can fluctuate. Apparently some dudes got this year's subscription for 20 bucks, but I'll probably end up paying the 120. I had it a few years ago and it's awesome if you get the premium. morl I shelled out and got the premium. Can't wait for Friday.

2 RUN double for Brent Morel!

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Mar 27, 2011 -> 12:55 PM) That's what I THOUGHT!! Not that was a lucky but good guess Both you and flavum called it, it seems that Marquez last night's meltdow is the reason for this. And I'm glad he is gone, he brings nothing to the table. Like I said in the catch-all, big surprise, not sure how I feel about this move. I seem to remember times where DJ Carrasco being the 12th pitcher kept us in ballgames because the starting rotation didn't have a good start and guys were going 5-6 innings max. Hope they know what they're doing.

Great call flavum, it's actually a big surprise for me and not sure if it's a good move. That's putting a lot of faith in your starting 5.

QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 26, 2011 -> 05:18 PM) http://twitter.com/MDGonzales/status/51784155427639297 When Marquez was getting torched, I was thinking about this. Might as well see how long they can go without 7 in the pen. Marquez is just a run-of-the-mill arm. If they have to risk losing him by putting him through waivers, so be it. When is the last time Ozzie took 11 pitchers to start the season? Not gonna happen, IMHO.
-
Hey, Mark Teahen E, what else is new?
-
Marquez getting hit around, we have nobody in the system capabale of pitching at the major league level. Let's all pray for Humber.
-
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Mar 26, 2011 -> 01:41 PM) There is only 1 more roster spot left because Humber had a huge lead on Marquez. Now that Humber struggled last time, and if Marquez can be great today, it may swing things back into competition. Basically, there are technically 2 spots open. 5th starter and 4th OF. Not sure where you got the info, but Humber is the 5th starter and Marquez is in the pen, they are both making the squad until Peavy is back. 1 spot left - for the Millibridge.

Voted third, I like Paulie batting 4th like last year.

QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 25, 2011 -> 09:28 AM) Just looking at the rotations of some of the teams the Sox face in April, it looks like Buehrle's first three starts will be against Fausto Carmona, David Price (home opener), and Trevor Cahill. Last year for Buehrle to start on Opening Day? This, of course, is if they avoid rain and blizzards the first couple weeks. A lot depends on how the year goes but I think this might be the last year for Buehrle pitching at all.

2 pitches 2HR for this Russell guy.. Kenny should get him.
-
Sale in to pitch the 6th.
-
Ozzie in mid-season form, has Ohman face a righty. Inning over.
-
Meanwhile Ohman gives up a triple to Cubs new girl favorite Barney. 8-3 Cubs in the 5th.
-
Oz takes Humber out of the game, Sox trail 3-5.
-
Seems like Humber found his groove, retired all three in the third.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 24, 2011 -> 03:51 PM) You mean as far as my every day life goes that doesn't involve the White Sox? Of course not. But 4 missed postseasons in the last 5 years has taken a 'toll' on me. I'm eternally grateful for '05 and to see a WS champion at the ripe old age of 22 when others who had passed away in their 60's and 70's never got to see one makes me cherish it a billion times more. But I was never one of those fans that said, “OH MY GOD! WE'VE WON IT! WE CAN FINISH IN LAST EVERY SEASON UNTIL THE DAY I DIE AND I'LL BE SATISFIED! “ type of fans. 2005 elevated my expectations. By a ton. 2010 rubbed me the wrong way on many levels. The debacle that was the DH situation when it didn't have to be a debacle, the Edwin Jackson trade and another beat-down by the Twins was my boiling point. As far as I'm concerned, the Sox have to 'prove it' to me. We've heard the term “All-In“ for the last 5-6 months. But by my estimation, other than the Dunn signing, which was massive, we're the same team we were last year. This isn't like what the Red Sox or Brewers did. Basically, we're hoping that guys that for the most part sucked last year, don't suck again this year. Now I can't help it that certain posters like yourself, SS2K5 and hi8is are insulted whenever I say something that can't be misconstrued as holy optimism. You guys get on my nerves just as much as I do yours. But I don't say s***. That's your right. I only say something when you reply to me for the most part. I lauded the Adam Dunn signing and you can google the thread if you don't believe me. But I'm not going to pretend that I have faith in a Phillip Humber just because he's a White Sox. I'm not going to pretend to like any move the team makes just because it's the White Sox. If that makes me evil then so be it. Dude, or you can just.. take a day off, cool off, go to the park. This is sports, baseball is just a game, fans are suppose to enjoy it. From your posts it just seems like you don't. It's always black or white, life or death.
