  1. QUOTE (ChrisLikesBaseball @ Mar 31, 2011 -> 10:55 AM) I'll be watching Detroit v. NYY until the Brewers/Reds game starts. I think I'll stick on that for a while and then watch the end of the SD/STL game and give myself a nightcap of SF/LA. Sidenote: Why the hell aren't the Giants opening the season at home!? That's what Im doing too.
  2. That also means Buehrle won't pitch at home opener April 7th.
  3. So what game are you guys watching today?
  4. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Mar 31, 2011 -> 09:31 AM) One year too late. I mean, seriously, what's so hard about carrying both Thome AND Kotsay? Not that I actually want to start that again, but it still to this day seemed like such an obvious move. Not sure.. what about all the games Tony Pena had to play long-man in.
  5. Damn you guys are quick, Jake needs to get back asap.
  6. Game is in bottom third, scoreless.. no broadcast, no audio, even the beat writers are quiet..
  7. Pierre LF, Beckham 2B, Dunn DH, Konerko 1B, Rios CF, Quentin RF, Pierzynski C, Vizquel SS, Morel 3B, Gray P
  8. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 30, 2011 -> 08:15 AM) Your reply simply should have been: Now this makes me smile!
  9. Jayson Stark finds White Sox unpredictable, but likes the Tigers to win AL Central.
  10. QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Mar 29, 2011 -> 06:01 PM) How is Posey for MVP ridiculous? On a side note, Keith Law picked the White Sox to win by 2 games. I thought about making a thread but then realized 40 posts of "Keith Law hates the White Sox" without anyone having actual proof, isn't fun. I just posted Rosenthal's column, might as well make it a writers predictions thread, among other things..
  11. Rosenthal picks Sox to win Central, and that's about it.
  12. Peavy sad he can't break camp with the team. Looking at two rehab starts April 8th and 13th, won't visit Chicago until April 9th. - per Gonzo Not holding my breath but it's looking like a late April early May comeback.
  13. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Mar 29, 2011 -> 12:19 PM) I posted this yesterday and then never came back to the thread but what happened to putting the starters out there the last week of the season to get in a groove and be ready for the season?????????? Has the Opening day lineup played in one game this spring? I understand spring means nothing to this organization but slow starts and finishes are the norm and they are doing nothing to change that. The only consistent hitters that are somewhat guaranteed for this season are Dunn and Konerko and age could get the better of both of them. This team could easily hit .180 or .300 in April. I feel that comparing with other teams the Sox actually had the 'regulars' playing a LOT during the spring.
  14. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 29, 2011 -> 11:41 AM) Peavy is currently pitching against Sox minor leaguers (and some major leaguers). 7 up/7 down, including striking out Quentin. - 2 of them Quentin, 45 pitches total.
  15. I was just coming here to post the updates.. Peavy looking sharp, faced 13, got 13 out.. he K'd Quentin twice. Humber... Unfortunately he is NOT looking any good.
  16. I'm with Scotty to give a finally healthy (for how long?) Quentin some credit and some time, say it with me: TCQ.
  17. QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 29, 2011 -> 10:51 AM) I edited the subtitle because I don't want to get naked with you.
  18. Sox: Pierre LF, Vizquel 2B, Dunn DH, Konerko 1B, Teahen RF, Milledge CF, Morel 3B, Lillibridge SS, Lucy C, Hynick P Peavy, Humber, Thornton, Crain and Sale (neck permitting) scheduled to throw in minor league camp today - per Gonzo. Alexei diagnosed with back spasms, should be ready for Friday.
  19. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 28, 2011 -> 05:48 PM) The Sox head to the airport tomorrow at 5 central. It'll be a bunch of kids playing tomorrow and there's a possible rainout on Wednesday, so today could be it for AB's until Friday afternoon. If that doesn't get rained/snowed out..
  20. If the Sox get '08 performance from Quentin, then the division is a wrap.
  21. Corky Miller catching now for the Reds.. and Kenny Williams JR running for Rios.
