Andruw Jones is on a mission
I don't usually participate in the predictions thread but I'm gonna say this here: Andruw Jones will see a lot of playing time and will produce above expectations for 2010 Chicago White Sox.

Tigers Sign Damon - 1 yr, 8 mil; NTC
QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 20, 2010 -> 07:01 PM) Yep, and some of that stuff Cabrera was doing didn't deserve to be called out (ie: stealing 3rd with less than 2 outs). Dye's attitude after acquiring Rios last season was terrible, and you could see it on the field. Agreed seems that Dye had the 'I own this clubhouse' attitude, and as much s*** as Cabrera got he was a gamer. Appreciate what Dye accomplished here tho.

From what I get out of all this, Kenny didn't pull the offer but said there will be no more negotiations , if Johnny wants to play in Chicago he needs to accept the latest offer that is out there. With that said he will go where the money is and play in Detroit.

Tigers Sign Damon - 1 yr, 8 mil; NTC
"Damon played golf Monday with White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski and broadcaster Ken “Hawk” Harrelson, according to major-league sources." Hawk? Ladies and Gents, we're in business.

Weren't the Guillen's forced to shut down their twitter accounts a while ago. I remember Cowley rambling something about that.

2010 MLB Catch-All Thread
Seeing this ESPN INsider headline; Indians might be considering former Sox, Dye. Don't have access, but we might be setting ourselves up to see a lot of Thome and Dye, just with the wrong jerseys on.

Email Johnny Damon
He might be an asshole but he let's talk about what he brings to the table. He is way better option than Kotsay or Jones, you put him in DH or LF (we don't want both Pierre and Damon on the field at the same time), interchange him with Pierre, that's your decent 1 - 2 combo. Pierre LF/DH Damon LF/DH Beckham 2B Quentin RF Konerko 1B Rios CF AJP C Teahen 3B Ramirez SS

The Jim Thome Saga Ends
I'm starting to get used to the idea of Jones/Kotsay DH platoon, what's worse they want Omar Vizquel to start games too. This is the poll form the Tribune article: Should the White Sox have brought back DH Jim Thome? Yes, they need a DH (782 responses) 50% No, time to move on (792 responses) 50% 1574 total responses

Who do you have the highest expectations for?
Rios and Quentin, I expect Rios to bounce back with .280 25 HR 100 RBI 20 SB and I have a feeling Carlos will have a monster year.

The Jim Thome Saga Ends
Maybe this was answered before and I missed it, but for example we do sign Damon, do we just cut Jones? Because having one backup infielder in Vizquel just won't fly? Or do we go with 11 pitchers instead?

Healthy Quentin prepared for 2010 Comment Email Print Share By Melissa Isaacson ESPNChicago.com Archive A healthy and happy Carlos Quentin sounded like he was itching for spring training to begin, telling reporters Saturday at Soxfest, "My body feels well." "The foot feels great," Quentin said. "The knee feels good. The wrist feels 10 times better having the hardware out. The old injuries that were in the past feel great." The Chicago White Sox outfielder would like to forget the 2009 season, which saw him suffer through Plantar fasciitis in his left foot, tendinitis in his right knee and the ill effects of his surgically repaired right wrist from which a wire was removed, no doubt contributing to his .236 average. "I felt a little restricted, and you put that in the back of your mind as a hitter," Quentin said of the wrist. "Your hands are very important in the swing. But I'm more focused on how much better it feels now. It makes me excited. This offseason I've been hitting and been satisfied with my swing." Quentin was also optimistic about his move from left field to right. "I'm pretty excited about that," Quentin said. "I basically grew up as a right fielder and feel like it will come back extremely fast. I've been throwing and getting my arm ready for it." Quentin and the Sox are hoping for a return to his 2008 form, when Quentin was mentioned among MVP candidates before breaking his wrist after slamming his arm on his bat in frustration after fouling off a pitch. "Every year I've gotten better and it's because of the guys around me," Quentin said. "Obviously [Greg] Walker and Ozzie [Guillen], we've talked about the whole issue. I try to get better and as I grow as a person, it will continue to get better. When the season starts, it's serious and I never forget that."

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 22, 2010 -> 07:51 PM) Which is code for "We are not going to make another move." Kenny said their DH by committee is something the Angels have been doing the last couple of years.

Soxfest 2010
According to latest twitter feeds there was some Greg Walker bashing, Ozzie defending him. Kenny said "there is always one more move to made" Lots of a**-kissing everywhere.

I'm slowly getting used to the fact of DH spot being split by Paulie, TCQ, Kotsay and Jones.
