You know, since he came in to the league in 2004, the only person to strike out less frequently than Jeff Keppinger was Juan Pierre. Kepp has a 6.4% K-rate. He walks more often than he strikes out. He struck out only twice in spring training. HE HAS STRUCK OUT IN TWO STRAIGHT GAMES NOW. BURN IT DOWN.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 4, 2013 -> 03:35 PM) I picked a good time to turn on the game. I turned on the game last inning when the Royals had just a runner on 1st and it was a 0-0 game...

That's why you don't f***ing come home on that, Tyler. All you need is a ball put in play, and you've got the guy on the team who will put the ball in play better than anyone else. Situational baserunning, T-Flow, get some.

I love the way Keppinger takes those low breaking balls. Doesn't even begin to get tricked in to swinging.

Thank God Beckham did something other than strikeout or make weak contact.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 3, 2013 -> 04:16 PM) Wise almost threw that one away. Eh, not really. It was right on line with Kepp, it just short hopped him.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 3, 2013 -> 04:00 PM) Dayan still can't hit breaking pitches. Is he only using his leg kick vs. lefties?

QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 3, 2013 -> 03:56 PM) Yeah, they're not really percentages, they're average number of runs scored. Although the one WGN used could be the percentage of times a run scored. I think WGN uses % likelihood that a run will be scored.

Rios mistimed that jump.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 3, 2013 -> 03:45 PM) Run expectancy on WGN? Good s***. Cubs broascasts did that all last year. As annoying as Len Casper is, he actually has knowledge of advanced statistics, which is refreshing.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Apr 3, 2013 -> 03:35 PM) Only if your feet are in play or were in play when they were last on the ground. If you jumped into the stands and actually had your feet on the ground before you caught the ball it would not be an out. Right, but i don't like that. I feel you should need to keep at least 1 foot in play during the whole catch. Like this catch from Ciolli last year, I feel like it should be a HR, because he landed on the other side of the wall with the ball. I understand the rules, I just don't like them. http://www.brobible.com/sports/video/minor...s-homerun-flips

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 3, 2013 -> 03:31 PM) That last play proves what a bulldog Peavy is. Man, he cares. Glad he re-signed with the Sox. I think he was just more pissed that he embarrassed himself that he faceplanted and looked like a big dumb stupid.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Apr 3, 2013 -> 03:29 PM) Don't know if you're serious or not but that would still be a HR. However, he could have caught it and fallen in to the bullpen and it still would have been an out, which I don't agree with.
