  1. Yeah, that was a very bad inning for Viciedo. I wouldn't be against Robin pulling him right now and putting in Wise. Teach him that lackadaisical fielding is not okay.
  2. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 3, 2013 -> 01:52 PM) Disney Shuts Down LucasArts Oh god damnit. Star Wars 1313 looked like the first Star Wars game I would purchase since Rouge Squadron and Pod Racer on the N64.
  3. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Apr 2, 2013 -> 04:20 PM) If it was an April fools joke, than it's genius. Hell they should just come out and say it was, even if it wasn't. Right, it's the perfect damage control. I'm sure someone involved in making it has checked the interwebs to gauge a response. They could easily bury this thing as an April Fool's gag on their next telecast.
  4. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 2, 2013 -> 02:46 PM) Damn that was pathetic. Who the hell got paid big bucks to make that? Fred Durst.
  5. And instead of playing Thunderstruck when they announced all the players, they played some whack Polka music. Not pumping anyone up.
  6. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 2, 2013 -> 03:22 AM) Good observation. I think it's way too late for the hitter to tell. By the time he does a motion like that, they would have already decided whether or not they will swing, especially on a fastball that's 93-95 MPH. That's what I was thinking, but then again, hitters are able to pick up on the spin of the ball to see how it will break, and they only can see the spin after the pitch is released. If anything, they would start their swing as if it's a fastball, and then hold up if they don't notice his arms go up and body fly open. Like I said, I'm not a hitter, so I'm not sure how much they can actually discipline themselves after the ball is released, but I do wonder about it.
  7. Anyone watch Top of the Lake? I am halfway through the first episode. Weird show, mainly because of the weird retreat ladies. Can't figure out why the asian girl lives with the hillbillies, when she clearly has a mother in town. Was her dad really given custody, if that even is her birth father? She looks very asian, not mixed.
  8. So I noticed while watching highlights that every time Sale throw a fastball, he flies open after release and both his arms go way up in the air, the type of recoil we saw with Peavy. But when he throws an offspeed pitch, his arms come straight down normally and his frame stays closed. Now, when a hitter actually notices this, I'm sure it's too late to react, but then again I am not a major league hitter, so maybe they can pick up on the change in their peripherals and see if he doesn't raise his arms as he releases, then lay off the pitch. Either way, after watching a small sample size of other pitchers, I noticed they don't really change how they finish their release depending on a fastball or off-speed. It's probably irrelevant, because I'm sure Don Cooper would have noticed before I would, but either way I found it interesting. I was finding myself watching highlights of him and covering up the whole screen except for Sale, and recognizing what he was throwing as soon as he released it. Video from last year. He gets a lot of fastball outs, you can see his body start to fly open as he releases.... http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/video/play...31&c_id=cws Video from today. All his K's were on offspeed pitches, and he keeps his body closed and his arms down as he releases.... http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/video/play...06&c_id=cws
  9. QUOTE (farmteam @ Apr 1, 2013 -> 03:11 PM) They could find a way to make Frank interesting still, I'd guess. But I would be surprised if he actually does have to quit drinking. Seems...unlikely. I don't see how Jimmy is getting off that boat. The first season he was one of my favorite characters, now he's a selfish prick. Well, he was always a selfish prick, but he used to be a likable selfish prick. Agreed with B>W though, the bodyguard is too awesome of a character to just have disappear from the show. Don't see how he would stay without Jimmy, though. My buddies think that when Jimmy zipped up his jacket right as he started to walk to the boat, that he was concealing a gun that the bodyguard gave to him.
  10. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 1, 2013 -> 03:16 PM) yes. yes it will. You just complained that Frank did something his character normally doesnt do, why would this show be any good if Frank isnt doing the hilarious things that make him Frank? This show (for me) is all about Frank, Kev and V, Lip, and Sheila. Everyone else is side characters IMO I complained about Frank, not the show. There is no single character on this show that would ruin it for me if he/she suddenly died.
  11. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 1, 2013 -> 01:51 PM) I have a feeling next weekend his illness "if you dont stop drinking you will kill yourself" will be some sort of misdiagnosis. That show will be boring if Frank isnt drinking every chance he gets No, no, no, no. Frank's character may be boring, but the show won't be boring if one character stops being crazy.
  12. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 1, 2013 -> 12:05 PM) Yeah. I hate Karen though too. Hopefully Steve is okay, just for the sake of the bodyguard staying on the show. Him, Jody, and Kevin are my favorites. They make the show. I hope Karen dies a terrible death. Hope that b**** gets stabbed to death 1000 or something. And I hate that Frank did the right thing. It didn't add up at all. He had no revelation that made him change. One showing of being nice by Carl, and all the sudden Frank was willing to got to jail for him? Debbie loved Frank forever but he never gave a damn about her. Yeah, maybe it's the father/son dynamic, but it seemed WAY to easy to change Frank like that. I didn't like it.
  13. POTUS will be ready..... Barack Obama ‏@BarackObama 50m Ready for Opening Day.
  14. Oh man, I think Jimmy may actually die. I was guessing a few episodes ago that Jimmy would go to Michigan and the guy from work would be Fiona's new f*** piece, but I didn't think it would come at the result of Jimmy dying possibly. I really hated that whole INS and Estafonia storyline, it was annoying IMO.
  15. First Sox HR of the year prediction..... Adam Dunn, 4th inning, 2 run HR.
  16. I'm writing a gigantic review/spoiler/recap of Orphan Black if anyone is interested in me posting it here. I can post the recap of the opening scene, and then the rest of the episode in SPOILER tags if anyone wants to see what it's about before they commit an hour to watching it.
  17. QUOTE (juddling @ Mar 30, 2013 -> 10:06 PM) WTF???!!!!! It's bad enough I have to put up with the annoying Chris Hardwick promos during the Walking Dead but now I have to put up with them during Orphan Black???? He's almost as annoying as Ryan Seacrest........ Orphan Black I thought was pretty good. Should be regular watching for me. Oprhan Black was pretty interesting. Took me a while to figure out it was set in Canada. I was thinking England because of being on a BBC network, and the british accents, but then there were quite a few North American accents and the license plate of her car said Ontario. Interesting to find out that Ellen Page almost got the role as the main character. Would not have been as nice on the eyes, but I love Ellen's attitude in her movies. She would have been fun. Also, for any Far Cry 3 fans, if you couldn't tell, the ex-boyfriend Vic is Vaas from the video game. Even before he spoke a word I said "s***, that dude looks just like Vaas." And then he started talking and it was obvious. So cool that they were able to replicate him SO WELL in the game that in real life he is immediately identifiable in a completely unrelated role.
  18. The Last Enemy was a major disappointment. First 2 or 3 episodes were interesting. Then the last 2, especially the last 20 minutes of the series was just painful. Not only was it confusing, but the story became boring and the characters had confusing motives. Not happy with it at all.
  19. Just saw Skyfall. Pretty good flick. I didn't know that Q is now some young tech geek who doesn't like cool gadgets. I loved old Q's crazy toys like the laser watch from Goldeneye. I wish we would have found out how Silver got out of a giant glass box and killed all those guys. It was too easy to just assume he is that good.
  20. A "LETS GO PAULIE" chant now encompassing Miller Park.
  21. QUOTE (Cali @ Mar 29, 2013 -> 09:26 PM) Pretty sure I haven't seen Keppinger show any sort of human emotion thus far this spring... He's programmed to hit, not to love.
  22. QUOTE (Cali @ Mar 29, 2013 -> 09:12 PM) I'm honestly pissed if I'm Santiago. Seems like they don't even want to give him a chance this season He pitched like he wanted to prove a point tonight.
  23. The Juice Man Ryan Braun goes deep off Lindstrom.
  24. Santiago is done after 3 perfect innings because, why WOULD you let a reliever go more than 3 innings? Bleehh..
