It's not a "huge gamble" when there is no risk. He's not blocking playing time from a young player, his $20M wouldn't prohibit any competent owner from spending money elsewhere, and his value is so low that the return is going to be a longshot anyway. If they can get a decent return, do it. But giving him away because you don't want to spend $20M on what should be $150M+ in payroll flexibility is dumb. I understand Jerry won't do it, but I'm talking about what they SHOULD do, not what they WILL do. Jerry is too cheap and short-sighted to pick up the option, so Getz will get his scraps.

Dude. Their payroll next season is $20M. Spending another $20M on Luis Robert should not restrict ANY competent owner from spending an additional $20M elsewhere.

This is how any competent owner SHOULD have his GM acting. Any reasonable owner would realize giving LuBob $20M next season in hopes he nets a better return is smart. This is a big ask for Jerry, though, so I'm skeptical.

The LSU/Florida game I went to last year where I saw Cags hit a HR, I also saw Colby Shelton hit 2 HR, including one off of Kade Anderson. Funny, you go to one LSU/Florida game and you end up seeing several future MLB prospects, whether you realize it or not.

I went to watch LSU/Florida last year and got a sick video of Cags crushing a HR immediately following a FB being thrown at his head because of a dispute earlier in the game. He razzed the crowd when he came back it on the dugout. It was a cool moment to capture. In the next inning my cousin asked me to get some pics and videos of her friend's son who is on LSU if he happens to come into the game. He did enter the game eventually. I took some pics to be polite. I had no idea who the kid was and completely forgot who it was until just now. Her son is Kade Anderson. 😆

2 different Sox insiders tonight have both hinted at new White Sox ownership news coming out soon, and the fact that neither of them seems to be hinting at Jerry giving up control is concerning. But clarity is still welcomed.
