  1. QUOTE (Sockin @ Aug 29, 2010 -> 03:33 PM) Manny just PH with the bases loaded in the 6th, took 1 pitch, it was called a strike, and got ejected for arguing. The pitch wasn't even that bad. Manny doesn't want to be a Dodger anymore. lol.
  2. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Aug 29, 2010 -> 12:42 PM) Rangers? MLBTR says its the Red Sox who claimed him.
  3. Cool beans Ball State. All we have on TBS right now is a black screen.....
  4. QUOTE (BearingPro @ Aug 29, 2010 -> 12:52 PM) Forget Manny...we need a pitcher Ugh....this is such a tired argument.... Manny doesn't prevent us from getting anyone. It's not Manny OR a pitcher, Kenny will get both if he can.
  5. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Aug 29, 2010 -> 12:34 PM) BNightengale #mlb #dodgers Since the Dodgers aren't playing Manny, it's clear they will dealing him. Manny is telling friends he can't wait to join Sox Damn, you beat me to it. Great if he is excited to join us, hopefully that keeps him motivated for the next couple months.
  6. Napoli has been claimed by an unknown team, likely to be an AL team.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 29, 2010 -> 12:18 AM) Threets or Peavy could go to the 60 day DL. Well, well, well, you just have ALL the answers don't you!
  8. QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 28, 2010 -> 11:08 PM) If they get him, it'll be Sept 1 and they won't have to decide that. Well, someone will have to removed from the 40-man roster, but yeah, it doesn't have to be one of those two necessarily.
  9. Well, no thanks to Danks, Pena, or Torres in this game. Damnit. Seriously, this bullpen really could have used Thronton, Putz, or Threets tonight.....
  10. Paging Greg, Greg, please report to the gamethread, Andruw Jones wants a word with you..... 3/3. 1B, 2B, HR. 2 BB.
  11. It's funny, in my head I went "There ya go Alexei and Rios! Only 4 more runs!" and then I thought "Oh wait, they still have Rivera in the bullpen..."
  12. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 28, 2010 -> 09:03 PM) Carlos Torres has no business on a major league roster. How bad is our farm system? Fixed your post.
  13. Have yourself a game Andruw! I think I am the only one still watching, but when I finally get a game on TV here at school, I am going to watch it all the way!
  14. QUOTE (bobryansson @ Aug 28, 2010 -> 08:04 PM) I thought that too. Hope not. Yeah, the timing of his jump seemed to indicate he was going to hit the wall in the air, but I think the wall surprised him when he realized he jumped a little too early. I hope he is alright.
  15. QUOTE (bobryansson @ Aug 28, 2010 -> 08:00 PM) No, someone said the somebody or another was pitcher of the month and inferred that indicated ace-hood sort of. Then somebody said it didn't. I offered GF as an example of it not. (Sorry, with the game as it is and my general laziness, I don't feel like going back to look it up. Anyway, it's all good... other than the score... And Danks' performance... and bullpen injuries... And our designated "hitters"...) I made the original comment, but it was saying that Jackson is a POTM candidate, and that basically says how dominant he has been with us. I forgot to highlight the part I was referring to, so some people thought I was saying POTM award makes him an ace, when I was referring to him being dominant. It was a misunderstanding from the get-go.
  16. I think Rios thought the wall was closer, and may have messed up his shoulder a little.
  17. QUOTE (bobryansson @ Aug 28, 2010 -> 07:54 PM) Pitcher o' the month, then... Not much after that. My point, and the conversation at the time----> not an ace. 9-10 isn't really an ace's numbers. I must have missed where someone said Gavin Floyd was an ace...?
  18. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 28, 2010 -> 07:43 PM) You mean Carlos Silva wasn't one of the more dominant pitchers in baseball when he was 8-0 for the Cubs? Do you think Silva's 8-0 run proved better than or as good as what Jackson has done so far? If so, then sure, Silva was dominant for the Cubs over that stretch.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 28, 2010 -> 07:42 PM) That's as useless of a definition of a dominant pitcher as you could ever come up with. Has he yet to have an outing that wasn't dominant? 7 IP, 1 ER, 1 BB, 6 K 6 IP, 1 ER, 1 BB, 7 K 7 IP, 1 ER, 3 BB, 11 K 8 IP, 0 ER, 2 BB, 10 K Every start was dominant. Therefor, he is a dominating pitcher for us.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 28, 2010 -> 07:39 PM) There's a reason you were called on it. He's dominating right now...that doesn't mean he's a dominant pitcher full-time (yet). Gavin Floyd was absolutely dominating in June the last 2 years, but that doesn't offset his aprils. Edwin Jackson has never had a bad outing for this team. Until he does, he is every bit of a "dominating" pitcher for us.
  21. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 28, 2010 -> 07:22 PM) A 'pitcher of the month' doesn't automatically make you an ace. I was referring to him saying no pitcher on this team is dominant. Jackson, is dominating.
  22. QUOTE (mcgrad70 @ Aug 28, 2010 -> 07:19 PM) With the exception of perhaps Peavy when healthy, the Sox have no pitcher higher than a #3. None of them are dominant. Hi, my name is Edwin Jackson and I am the pitcher of the month for August.
  23. There is another big HR from Andruw Jones!!! SUCK IT GREG!!!
  24. Buster_ESPN Heard this:Right now, the Dodgers' intention is to not just dump Manny on the White Sox;CWS must make it worth their while with a prospect And the saga continues....
