Bauer and Springer for me. Lineup without holes and Giolito/Keuchel/Bauer/Kopech + Cease + Dunning fighting for the last 2 slots. Stiever in AA/AAA, maybe used for a big trade if Springer doesn't sign?. See what's out there in FA for relievers, or trade someone like Sheets/Yermin Mercedes for bullpen help.

I like him a lot. I think he's got a better shot to be a solid mid-rotation starter than Cease. Cease being totally unable to strike anyone out is really concerning me.

I think Grandal catching would've led to a strikeout of the first hitter instead of a basehit.

Two games to forget defensively for Grandal.

Except they signed Grandal and Keuchel last offseason (and almost signed Grandal and Wheeler) which is about as direct a comparison as you can get. I think its definitely possible.

If the offseason consists of signing Bauer and Springer I'm incredibly happy, though I don't know how Bauer would like playing with two former Astros. I'd prefer this to the trade route except for the bullpen where hopefully we can trade some spare parts/blocked players for bullpen help.
