Same. If I'm choosing between two guys who are always hurt I'm picking the younger one, and Grichuk is lost at the plate since his hot streak. He looks done and I don't think they can afford to carry him any longer.

Maybe, he hit well in his rehab and his first two games back in the majors continued that trend, so hopefully the injuries are behind him.

I'm mostly fine with it. Adams probably a bullpen guy (and it ain't gonna get better for him in Coors), and the other guy is whatever. Buying upside with Doyle makes sense if you think you can fix his struggles and that the injuries this year caused him to hit so poorly. Center field looks like a platoon now.

I don't much care about what the Sox gave up - Boston Smith I would've rather used for someone better but its not a huge deal. Getting rid of Dominguez makes Castillo more like 12 mil next year. He was a mistake and I'm glad they got rid of him. Nolan Jones is whatever. What's alarming is Castillo has been BAD. As I posted earlier, the Baseball Savant pitch values reflect his poor performance so it's not fluky either. He's also leaving a pitcher's paradise and a team that knows how to handle pitchers. Feel like this isn't going to work out too well for us. Sure hope I'm wrong and the Sox can get him back to even a 4 ERA guy. Didn't Castillo have a top tier changeup? What the hell happened to that? He still has good fastball velocity.

I'd be down for Kirby. He's been about a 2.0 fWAR starter for the last two years, with a potential upside in the 4 fWAR range (given what he did before 2025/2026). Don't know what he'd cost though.

It's a moot point anyway as once details leak like this the trade is dead. Wolkow is whatever to me. He'll probably flame out in AA. Boston Smith I'd be hesitant on though because he's got a chance to be at least a good backup catcher and I'd have trouble trading that for a rental of a guy who will probably give you 4th starter performance.
