If Bloom doesn't immediately find another job I would love for the Sox to bring him in as an advisor to help with just about everything. It seemed like he was doing a decent job rebuilding in Boston after Dombrowski tore everything down for the 2018 championship. Not gonna happen though. But I'll dream.

I don't think they're going to get anything better in free agency (the list is pretty dreadful) so they might as well hang on to him and, if he sustains this performance, they can flip him for a little something at the 2024 ASB. His back issues make me super nervous, though.

I doubt many people would be stupid enough to do it in a print interview 15 years after it happened, so no. There are plenty of ways for Wilder to bring up the same points about how poorly this team is run without using it to justify his actions.

Can't remember if I tried Vito & Nicks frozen or not. Don't remember ever seeing it. Grew up in Oak Lawn though so we would go to the one on Pulaski a lot.

Home Run Inn is the king of frozen pizzas and no one else is close. So glad I can still get it in Florida.

I dug into his splits a bit, wondering if he's unlocked something. And the answer is... maybe? He basically hasn't walked since the all-star break - his batting average has gone up by 49 points in H2 vs H1, but his OBP is DOWN 7 points. That seems hard to do. SLG up by 19 points. Over the last month, though, he's at .299/.322/.460, which is fine. .313/.327/.542 over the last 2 weeks. If he gets that OBP up he'll be a nice low-mid .800s OPS guy, which I think will put him over 2 WAR as a first baseman over a full season. He's probably never going to be more than mid-high 4s SLG, though, unless he earns more power through being more selective or through a swing improvement. I doubt the Sox can do either.

Detroit pizza is so damn good. The main reason I give tavern style the victory is that Detroit style is a "mood" kinda thing. Can't eat it all the time because it's so dense and cheesy - like deep dish & stuffed. Detroit style is also my favorite style to make. Got a special pan for it and everything.

Cease used to throw tons of pitches but he was never hit that hard. Now he's getting hammered even by bad teams.

That's my hope. It's also why I think he's been so dodgy around details publicly. No sense in overplaying your hand. We'll see how things go in the offseason, though.
