QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Aug 11, 2009 -> 11:10 PM) Setting up double play number 25. I'd go with AJ on that one. Time to quote this post... -

Kudos to Johnny Danks, but now it's his job to call out his teammates. Seriously. He's going to become one of our future clubhouse leaders and he needs to let those guys know that this s*** is unacceptable. I don't care how young he is and that it's just his third year in the league. Johnny Danks has more balls than that whole offense right now and he needs to angrily flaunt them. -

You guys all make good predictions. But remember that AAARRRRRdsma does love to walk people, so there should be one of those in there. Hopefully. -

QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Aug 11, 2009 -> 11:04 PM) I predict Rios gets an AB.. no? If there is one Sox fan still left in SafeCo, if Rios is announced, we'll hear him. -

Good lord, we're on the verge of yet another shutout. And God knows we can't hit AAAAARRRRRdsma. -

QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Aug 11, 2009 -> 10:56 PM) With the occasional offshoot, corollary mention of Charlie O. Finley. I wonder if Josh Fields still reminds him of Harmon Killebrew? -

QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Aug 11, 2009 -> 10:50 PM) Ah, I don't know. I'm not listening to those guys. I'm monitoring Hawk's nightly mentions of Yaz and Mickey Mantle. It's always a close race. HAHAHA That's why I listen to the radio. I love Stoney but not even he can stop all the "greatest pennant race ever," Catfish Hunter, shattered bat, etc. stories and rants. -

Okay, well Beckham leads off next inning, so we've got a chance still. I hope. -

QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Aug 11, 2009 -> 10:46 PM) I think Farmer says that because he thinks that HE's a Renaissance man. Farmer said that? My bad, thought it was DJ. DJ is f***ing stupid. But I like him because he's funny. -

Listening to the radio and I can't remember the last time I've listened to a game pitched by Miguel Batista where the announcers haven't gone on and on about him being, in this case, "a Renaissance man" who plays music and yadda yadda yadda. I can't wait until this guy is retired. Ditto with Mark Hendrickson and announcers always talking about him being a former basketball player. STFU and start ripping the team. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 11, 2009 -> 10:33 PM) I'm excited to see Rios play, but he's generally regarded as one of the laziest players in baseball. He'll love this type of effort. He's also been playing in Toronto his whole career, so I think we should give him a break until we see it for ourselves. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 11, 2009 -> 10:32 PM) Am I allowed to say I would be thrilled to see Greg Walker leave when the veterans leave the organization also? It's so frustrating seeing the offense go to sleep after the ASB every season. No. ...but I agree. And I think we need to hire Tony Robbins or something. And maybe we need to get Kenny to hang stupid inspirational posters all over the dugout and clubhouse too. Like the "Success!" and "Reach for the stars!" s*** that they have in fast food restaurant training rooms to help motivate the pregnant teenagers working the drive-thru. -

Just checked Fister's Triple A stats. Yep, a real Cy Young candidate we've got here... -
The Sox have had 40 different players appear for them so far this season. Rios will be 41 and Peavy will be 42. Freddy has a shot at being 43. Then we'll have callups, and possibly other additions as well. When was the last time we've cycled through so many players in one season? Edit: We've also had 8 different SP. Peavy will be 9 and Garcia should be 10. There have been 15 different relievers used with more likely on the way.

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 10, 2009 -> 08:27 PM) Any other tidbits from KW's interview? I'd love to know where they plan on having Rios bat. If we put him in the 6-7 range, at least it would give us some more speed. He wasn't that specific. He only really said that Rios is here, he was after him, he thinks he'll help now and in the future, and he's going to play no matter who does or does not like it. -
